"Okay, okay." Yolanda Greenwood knew Lola Gold’s character all too well.

Without seeing him, without letting out this breath, Lola Gold would feel suffocated for a lifeti.

"I’ll arrange the eting, and I’ll go with you." Yolanda found her phone and was about to send a WeChat ssage to Christopher Coldson.

"I can go by myself." After a big cry, Lola Gold’s emotions had stabilized a bit, but she was obviously still very fragile, unlike usual.

The person who falls in love first always loses, even soone like Lola Gold

"I must go with you," Yolanda said firmly before sending the ssage.

[Christopher Coldson, can we et tomorrow? Nine o’clock, sa place as last ti.]

The two waited for a while, but Christopher Coldson didn’t reply.

Yolanda tentatively asked, "Should I send another one?"

"No need," Lola shook her head. "If he doesn’t want to see , a hundred ssages won’t make a difference. Let’s leave it for now."

She glanced at the wall clock, "It’s getting late, you should rest."

"Let’s clean up this stuff first," Yolanda stood up.

"I’ll clean up," Lola went over to her, guiding her towards the bedroom, "Empress Dowager, you just rest easy, leave these matters to your humble servant."

"Alright, alright," Yolanda couldn’t win against her. "But you also need to rest early and can’t drink any more."

After finally coaxing Yolanda away, Lola silently began tidying up, but her movents were no longer as smooth as before; she kept stopping absent-mindedly after a little while.

When she realized it, she would wipe the tears away and quickly continue cleaning.

She chuckled bitterly in her heart; this was her karma.

Once, Lola Gold had looked down on Yolanda for enduring so much for Cooper Coldson, and she had been proud of herself for breaking away cleanly from the affair with Wesley Baker.

But it turned out she simply didn’t love Wesley Baker at all. Won... when caught in love, they’re all the sa.

After everything was cleaned up, there were two bottles of beer left. She had already drunk one bottle; three was probably her limit.

She went to the balcony alone.

Thanks to the large apartnt rented by Noah Coldson, Lola was able to drink the beer while gazing at the stars, but in the end, she remained sober.

It turned out that alcohol was deceitful; the more you want to be drunk, the more sober you stay.

The next morning, Yolanda ca to the living room and found Lola sleeping on the sofa.

She knew that after she went to bed the previous night, Lola would have continued to drink. She didn’t want to stop her.

She cautiously picked up her phone to check, not expecting Christopher Coldson to have a conscience, agreeing to the eting after all.

Yolanda gazed at Lola’s haggard face, sighed softly, and turned to go make so porridge in the kitchen.

"It slls so good!" Lola woke up at so unknown ti, rubbed her eyes, and stood in the kitchen doorway. "I’m so lucky to be able to eat porridge made by the Empress Dowager as soon as I open my eyes."

"Go wash up; it’s almost ready," Yolanda smiled and said, then reminded her, "By the way, Christopher Coldson agreed to et."

Lola paused in her tracks, and it took her awhile to find her voice, "Okay."

The two silently ate breakfast together and set off.

Arriving at the destination, the waiter said Christopher Coldson had arrived early and was waiting in a private room.

Yolanda felt vaguely worried and deliberately slowed her pace. "Lola, what are you planning to do?"

"What can I do?" Lola let out a bitter laugh. "From the start, it was all a transaction. Could I, as a lover, really expect him to co back to shore?"

"Lola..." Yolanda couldn’t help but feel distressed.

She once envied Lola’s cool composure, so seeing her like this now was really hard to bear.

"I’m fine," Lola forced a smile. "Nothing is more important than my pride, and I won’t let myself be humiliated."

As they reached the private room door,

Yolanda’s hand was about to knock when she heard a woman’s voice faintly coming from inside.

The voice was too soft to make out what was being said, but she could tell definitely it was a woman and not Christopher Coldson.

Yolanda imdiately looked at Lola, cursing through clenched teeth, "This Christopher Coldson is too much, what is he playing at?"

"What’s wrong?" Lola hadn’t spoken when Christopher Coldson’s voice sounded from behind them.

"Officials are allowed to set fires, but the commoners aren’t allowed to light lamps?" Christopher Coldson gave Lola a cold look, then said to Yolanda, "You’re allowed to bring soone, but I’m not?"

"Christopher Coldson!" Yolanda was about to confront him when the door beside them opened.

Sunny Coldson, with her makeup exquisitely done and an unbeatable smile on her face, said, "You’ve arrived? Why didn’t you co in?"

Her gaze fell on Lola, and she eagerly stepped forward to link arms with her. "Co on in, we barely got to greet each other yesterday..."

Lola felt goosebumps all over as she forcefully shook off Sunny Coldson’s hand, stating flatly, "We’re not familiar with each other."

"Lola Gold, that’s enough!" Christopher Coldson interjected, his voice colder than ever. "Don’t you know the basic manners of decency?"

"Decency?" Yolanda stepped in to protect Lola. "Christopher Coldson, hearing that word from your mouth really seems a bit filthy."

Christopher Coldson’s expression turned even uglier.

"Alright, Christopher," Sunny Coldson imdiately stepped forward, taking Christopher Coldson’s hand. "It doesn’t matter, with what you did to Lola, I would be mad too."

Christopher Coldson turned to look at her, his tone very natural, "I gave her money, I owe her nothing."

"Let’s not talk about this, let’s go in," Sunny Coldson shot another glance at Christopher Coldson and looked apologetically towards Lola and Yolanda, "Let’s discuss whatever it is inside."

Yolanda worriedly looked at Lola, "Do you still want to go in?"

Lola’s gaze shifted away from the tightly clasped hands of Christopher and Sunny, and she nodded slightly, "Yes."

So, the four of them entered the private room together.

The table was already set with food.

Sunny Coldson said with a beaming smile, "I didn’t know what you all like to eat, so I just ordered a bit of everything. Take a look, do you want to add anything?"

"We didn’t co here to eat," Yolanda stated coldly.

"Sorry," Sunny Coldson lowered her head.

"If you want to talk properly, then talk properly," Christopher Coldson looked fiercely protective. "Yolanda, no matter what, you should call Sunny ’auntie’, at least for Grandpa’s sake. Shouldn’t you at least do that much?"

Yolanda’s expression shifted, her tone laced with scorn, "You should know that from the very beginning, our animosity was towards you. As for..."

She looked towards Sunny Coldson, who had been admitting her mistakes and apologizing since they t, but Yolanda still felt uncomfortable.

"Auntie," conceding for Old Master Coldson’s sake, she afforded her that title, "Today, we ca to speak with Christopher Coldson. Can you leave us alone for a bit?"
