"Yolanda, you don’t have to feel indebted to in any way," Cooper Coldson smiled wryly, "Everything I’m doing now is what I should be doing, and... I hope that one day, when you regain your mory, you won’t hate so much."
Yolanda Greenwood shook her head, "It’s all in the past. I believe that even if I regain my mory, those things will have long been distant."
"I hope so!" Cooper Coldson pulled the corners of his mouth, "So what... do you plan to do?"
"I want to help Adam Sterling." Yolanda Greenwood stated firmly, "I’ve already contacted Adam’s forr teacher, and I believe we will find a way."
She was so determined because she knew that she did not love Adam Sterling and never would.
Love is really a strange thing; if you don’t love soone, no amount of effort will change that. She only wanted to help Adam Sterling through this difficult ti, as a repaynt for the three years he had given her.
Cooper Coldson was stunned for a mont, then he nodded, feeling heartache that nearly suffocated him.
In his view, Yolanda Greenwood had ultimately chosen Adam Sterling, while he... had been out of the picture since three years ago.
"Alright, if you need any help from , just let know." He maintained his last shred of dignity, unwilling to appear too defeated.
"I still need you to take care of Adrian Sterling for a few days," Yolanda Greenwood said with even more concern, "Most importantly, Ella; until Adam Sterling recovers, Ella needs to stay with you."
"Okay. Don’t worry, having Ella stay with is sothing I’d be more than happy to do." Cooper Coldson self-deprecatingly curled the corners of his mouth.
Yolanda Greenwood checked the ti; it was ti to pick soone up, so she stood up and said, "Let’s leave it at this for now. I need to go to the airport to pick up Professor Seward."
"I’ll take you there," Cooper Coldson also stood up.
Yolanda Greenwood smiled, "Is President Coldson so free? No need, I can go by myself. I’ll call you if I need anything."
"Alright." Cooper Coldson watched Yolanda Greenwood leave, then collapsed back into his seat, feeling drained.
He thought that when Adam Sterling truly recovered, Yolanda Greenwood and Adam Sterling would probably get married and beco a real couple.
And what about him?
His head throbbed painfully; he sensed he was heading towards a dead end.
After Yolanda Greenwood arrived at the airport, she quickly picked up Serena Seward.
"Professor Seward, thank you for making the trip," Yolanda Greenwood said, full of gratitude, "I really appreciate it."
"Don’t ntion it. Adam Sterling was my most outstanding pupil and my favorite student," Serena Seward sighed softly, "When I first heard he had been expelled, I was really worried, but I didn’t expect..."
"Professor Seward, let’s talk as we walk." Yolanda Greenwood offered to take Serena Seward’s luggage.
"Okay." Serena Seward’s expression was serious, clearly taking this matter to heart.
Once in the car, Yolanda Greenwood tentatively asked, "Professor Seward, when you attended the opening of the psychological clinic, did you already suspect sothing when you left your business card with ?"
Serena Seward did not answer imdiately.
"Professor Seward, I heard that psychological doctors like Adam Sterling should have undergone similar psychological assessnts before entering the military..." Yolanda Greenwood saw Serena Seward nod, then continued, "So, there was nothing wrong with his psychological assessnt at that ti?"
Afraid of being too presumptuous, she added, "Can Professor Seward get in touch with those who were responsible for Adam Sterling’s psychological assessnt back then?"
"It was !" Serena Seward smiled bitterly.
Yolanda Greenwood was slightly taken aback; Serena Seward was a renowned psychological expert inside and outside the country. If she had conducted the assessnt, it was unlikely she would have missed any issues.
"So..." Yolanda Greenwood was a bit confused. If Serena Seward had found any issues back then, how did Adam Sterling pass the assessnt?
Serena Seward sighed softly, "What if I told you that Adam Sterling passed the assessnt smoothly back then?"
Yolanda Greenwood frowned, "He passed? Was there nothing peculiar at all? Not even sothing you could detect?"
"I did find it a bit strange back then," Serena Seward looked at Yolanda Greenwood, "You can’t imagine, Adam Sterling scored ninety-eight on his psychological assessnt, with a perfect score being one hundred..."
She slightly curled her mouth and added, "And back then, I scored ninety-five."
"Ah?" Yolanda Greenwood was stunned; she hadn’t expected Adam Sterling not only to pass the assessnt but also with such high scores. How could it be?
Seeing her confusion, Serena Seward continued, "In fact, given the circumstances at the ti, I provided the committee with two possible results."
Yolanda Greenwood listened intently.
"The first possibility is exactly what the psychological assessnt results indicated; Adam Sterling was a genius in this field. We had genuinely struck gold."
Serena Seward paused before continuing, "The second possibility was that the assessnt was invalid; Adam Sterling’s psychological defenses were too strong for the test to be effective. Of course, this also ant he was a genius, but it also made him a ticking ti bomb, very dangerous."
Yolanda Greenwood nodded with understanding, "And what happened afterward? Did the committee accept the first possibility?"
"Naturally, our country didn’t want to miss out on such talent," Serena Seward gestured with three fingers, "We conducted three assessnts on Adam Sterling, and the results were similar each ti, so we let him pass. However, they also instructed to keep a close eye on Adam Sterling and to take imdiate action if any issues arose."
"I see." Yolanda Greenwood curiously asked, "So during his years of service, no issues arose?"
"No, he perford almost perfectly." At this point, Serena Seward appeared quite proud, "Actually, in recent years, I haven’t been overseeing him much. But I didn’t expect..."
She sighed deeply, "When I heard about his father causing a scene at the base and him getting expelled, I already had a bad feeling. But at that ti, I was abroad, handling a major case and truly had no ti to spare. After returning to China and hearing about his opening a psychology clinic, I rushed over."
"Professor Seward, you’re indeed a great teacher. However, there’s still sothing I don’t understand," Yolanda Greenwood thought of the information Cooper Coldson had found, "What did he say about his parents back then?"
Serena Seward carefully recalled, "I don’t rember much. We must have done relevant investigations back then; there should have been no issues."
She curiously looked at Yolanda Greenwood, "Why are you asking about his parents?"
After getting out of the car and returning ho, Yolanda Greenwood relayed all the relevant information to Serena Seward in detail.
Serena Seward remained unsettled for a long ti. If Adam Sterling grew up in such an environnt, how could he really be okay?
Clearly, they had indeed been mistaken; Adam Sterling belonged to the second possibility. Could she help him?
"Professor Seward," Yolanda Greenwood poured so tea, "Please stay here for a few days. I’ve already spoken to Adam Sterling; he should be at the psychology clinic now. Have a talk with him when he cos back tonight."
Serena Seward nodded, "I really hope I can help him!"
Over the years, Adam Sterling had probably beco even more formidable than when he had just graduated, and she, as his teacher... could only give it her best shot.
