"Of course." Yolanda instinctively took a step back, "What do you an by that?"
"Nothing special, just reminding you how wonderful our family life has been these past few days." Adam chuckled lightly, the emotions on his face disappearing.
He turned around and sat back at the table, eating the fruit Yolanda had brought, seeing that Yolanda was standing there not leaving, "Is there sothing else?"
Yolanda nervously swallowed, "I want to... bring Gabriel over to stay for a few days tomorrow."
She feared Adam would refuse and didn’t want a dispute, so she quickly explained, "I haven’t seen Gabriel for quite a while, and also..."
"Sure." To her surprise, Adam agreed very readily, "I would very much welco Gabriel coming over."
Yolanda secretly breathed a sigh of relief, thinking Adam just didn’t want her having any dealings with Cooper Coldson.
She thought for a mont and still took the initiative to say, "Adam, I know you really cherish this family, and so do I."
"Like ?" Adam’s eyes looked full of mockery but quickly returned to normal, "Yolanda, you know nothing."
"Adam, about the past, I really can’t rember now," Yolanda thought Adam was referring to her mory loss, "If you’re willing, I can sit down and listen to you now, however long you want."
"I’m talking about now." Adam’s tone beca a bit heavier.
Yolanda was about to ask sothing when he waved his hand, "Forget it, you can go out, I need to tidy up and get ready to rest."
"Alright, goodnight then." Yolanda saw that Adam didn’t want to say more, so she didn’t ask further, and turned to leave.
From her perspective, at least Adam was very welcoming to Gabriel, and that was enough.
The next evening, Yolanda and Adam went to the kindergarten. To their surprise, Cooper was already there.
"I’ll trouble you for a few days." Cooper handed over Little Gabriel’s things, "These are his spare clothes and so toys. If you need anything else, feel free to call , I’ll send it over."
"Alright, don’t worry." Yolanda took the items, trying not to talk much with Cooper.
Cooper faintly felt Yolanda was a bit uneasy, he glanced at Adam beside her, and actively spoke to him, "Haven’t you returned to your unit? My brother has been gone for a week."
"Do you want to leave that much?" Adam countered him.
Cooper was stunned for a mont, the Adam in front of him was very different from the one in his mory; it was the first ti he saw Adam so combative.
Yolanda quickly tugged at Adam’s clothes and replied to Cooper with a smile, "He’s been a bit tired lately, so he took so ti off to rest well at ho."
"Oh." Cooper nodded, understanding that the undercurrents between the two had sothing to do with him, he tactfully moved to the side, not talking to them anymore.
But he found it odd, logically, Adam and Noah Coldson had already rested for a month, so why did Adam still need ti off? Was it to guard against him?
However, recalling his brother’s words made him think that taking leave from the unit might not be that easy, moreover, since now more than a week had passed and Adam still had no intention of returning, could there be sothing else going on?
Cooper thought of contacting Noah and asking about the situation.
After waiting for more than ten minutes, Little Gabriel and Little Ella ca out together.
"Gabriel, say goodbye to Daddy!" Yolanda held Little Ella and took Little Gabriel’s hand.
"Goodbye, Daddy!" Little Gabriel waved at Cooper and blinked with a look that said ’you know’.
Cooper helplessly tugged at the corners of his mouth and instructed, "Listen to Mom, if you need anything, call Dad."
He gave Little Gabriel and Little Ella each a children’s phone, with contacts only for him, Yolanda, and the siblings.
He stood where he was until Yolanda and the others got in the car and then turned to leave.
When they got ho, Yolanda took the two children to change clothes.
After changing clothes, Little Gabriel ca out of the room. He heard Adam making a phone call in the kitchen, sounding a bit scary, and curiously walked over.
Adam’s face looked a bit frightening, speaking into the phone in a low and impatient voice, "I said I can’t go back."
The person on the other end said sothing, and he responded, "It doesn’t matter, I don’t want to go back anyway."
He beca more and more impatient, "How many tis have I said it, I’ve thought it through, and if it’s about this matter, don’t call again."
Before hanging up, he warned, "Don’t tell Yolanda about this."
Little Gabriel stood at the kitchen door, hearing it all, realizing the bad uncle was hiding sothing from Mom.
"Who were you talking to just now?" he suddenly asked.
Adam was startled, turned to see him, and his face looked even more ominous, "It’s none of your business."
"If you dare bully Mom, I’ll tell Dad." Little Gabriel puffed up his small chest, unafraid of him.
Adam sneered, stopping beside him, "Let tell you, you’re not welco in this house."
After speaking, he strode away.
Little Gabriel snorted, "This is Mom’s house, as long as Mom welcos , it’s fine."
Yolanda and Adam cooked dinner together, quite a feast, with many dishes Little Gabriel liked.
"Alright, dinner’s ready!" Yolanda was especially happy, looking at the two little ones, "Today, let’s warmly welco Gabriel to our ho, okay?"
"Welco, brother." Little Ella was equally happy, clapping her hands first.
Adam also cooperatively clapped from the side, gently saying, "Gabriel, welco, you must stay for a few days, and let uncle know if you want anything to eat."
Little Gabriel was stunned for a mont, the Adam in front of him was entirely different from before, he imdiately pointed at him and said, "You’re lying, you don’t welco !"
"How could I not? Uncle really welcos you, these are all made by uncle for you." Adam picked up the chopsticks and gave Little Gabriel so food, "Try it, see if it suits your taste."
"..." Little Gabriel imdiately looked at Yolanda, feeling an inexplicable sense of grievance, "Mom, uncle’s lying."
"Gabriel, be good, uncle really does welco you, these dishes were indeed made by uncle," Yolanda hoped they could get along peacefully, "Gabriel, try it."
"I don’t want to!" Little Gabriel threw down his chopsticks, climbed off the chair, and looked at Adam dissatisfied, "I don’t want to eat with this liar."
He turned and ran back to his room.
Little Ella pouted, "Mom, what’s wrong with brother?"
"It’s nothing, I’ll go check." Yolanda glanced suspiciously at Adam, quickly going to find Little Gabriel.
"Gabriel, what’s wrong?" she sat by the bed while Little Gabriel lay on it, she patted his back, "Gabriel, what happened? Why did you say uncle is a liar?"
Little Gabriel raised his tear-stained face, "He just said he didn’t welco when Mom wasn’t there, and he called soone, telling them not to tell Mom, he’s deceiving Mom!"
