Cooper instinctively dodged a little.

"What are you doing?" Yolanda had a bad feeling and spoke with a noticeably bad tone, "Isn’t this my son? Can’t I give him a hug?"

"Do you want to hug him, or..." Cooper looked down at Yolanda, "or do you want to take him away?"

"Take him away?" Yolanda was really too angry to laugh, "It’s really the thief calling to catch the thief, Mr. Coldson, have you forgotten how you took Gabriel away back then?"

Cooper was silent for a mont before slowly speaking, "I’m taking Gabriel back with tonight."

"Cooper!!" In an instant, Yolanda was almost going crazy, "How dare you even say sothing like that? Do you know, because of you today, Gabriel almost..."

She stepped forward to grab him, "Give my son back to ."

Cooper easily dodged, "Yolanda, stop causing trouble, don’t scare Gabriel. I won’t give you the child."

"Why? Why?" Yolanda started to beco hysterical.

Cooper stayed silent for a while and ultimately didn’t answer.

He knew he was terribly wrong in the past. He loves Yolanda, he won’t give up on Yolanda, he wants to start again with Yolanda.

And Little Gabriel is his only trump card to start anew. As long as Gabriel is by his side, Yolanda will never completely leave.

If he gave Gabriel back to Yolanda, then he would certainly never see them again.

"Give my son back to , I beg you, give him back to ." Yolanda clasped her hands together, begging Cooper.

Cooper reluctantly looked away, not daring to et Yolanda’s eyes again, "Really, I can’t. Mom is still waiting at ho."

"Cooper..." Noah couldn’t bear to watch anymore, "If it wasn’t for Yolanda today, we wouldn’t have rescued Gabriel so smoothly, you..."

"It doesn’t matter what anyone says." Cooper was clearly determined. He looked at Yolanda with eyes as hard as iron, "I know, it was my fault in the past, but I will always be the children’s father, and you will always be the children’s mother, this will never change, so I won’t give you the son."

"Cooper, you are shaless, utterly shaless!" Yolanda wiped her tears, her gaze reluctant as she looked at Little Gabriel.

She had actually already anticipated this situation. Cooper was never going to give up his son, nor was he going to easily let her off.

This man would not allow himself to have made such a stupid mistake in the past, so winning her and the child back was the only way to correct his wrongs.

But why should Yolanda give him the chance to correct? Otherwise, how could her pain be justified?

She wiped her tears and, when she spoke again, her voice was much calr, "Fine, I won’t take Gabriel away, but let hug him. Today, he’s been too frightened."

Cooper looked at her as if considering whether her words were true or not.

"Ha, don’t worry, I’m his mother, he’s my flesh and blood," Yolanda pulled at the corners of her mouth, "I wouldn’t do anything that might hurt him in the slightest."

Cooper finally handed the child over to Yolanda.

Holding Gabriel’s soft body, Yolanda once again burst into tears, "Our Gabriel was super brave today, the best little man."

Little Gabriel was clearly very happy, reaching his fingers to grab Yolanda’s hair, his face rare with a few smiles.

Yolanda noticed that, when she was arguing with Cooper just now, Little Gabriel didn’t cry either, or even show any fear, which was indeed... a little strange.

Rembering lissa’s words, she couldn’t help but ask Cooper worriedly, "Have you noticed anything strange about him after looking after him for so long?"

"Strange?" Cooper instinctively glanced at Noah, but the two of their eyes were obviously a bit confused.

"No." Cooper asked puzzled, "What do you an by strange... specifically?"

Yolanda thought for a mont, "He seems to speak less and doesn’t really like to smile, today when lissa held him, he didn’t seem afraid either."

"That doesn’t count as strange." Cooper imdiately said, "I had the sa temperant when I was young, except for with Mom and big brother, I had no reaction to others."

Noah nodded in agreent with Cooper’s words, then added, "If Gabriel isn’t afraid, maybe it’s because he’s a boy, a bit braver."

"Alright, maybe I’m overthinking." Yolanda pulled at the corners of her mouth.

She played with Little Gabriel for a long ti until the little guy finally fell asleep, and only then did she reluctantly hand him back to Cooper.

"Promise you will take good care of him, no matter how he grows up, always love him, believe in him!" She pleaded, looking at Cooper.

Cooper frowned, "Although the son is with and the daughter is with you, it doesn’t an I won’t care about the daughter or that you won’t care about the son. I will, of course, love him fully, but the place of a mother is irreplaceable, you have to visit him often."

"Alright." Yolanda finally gave Little Gabriel a light kiss on his eyes, silently thinking, "Gabriel, goodbye, promise mommy you’ll grow up well!"

She took another look at the child before turning around and leaving reluctantly.

"Yolanda," Cooper suddenly called out to her, "I know saying these things now is pointless, but I still want to tell you, I’m sorry, I’m really sorry."

Yolanda said nothing, lifted her foot and continued walking out.

"Yolanda, you can believe it or not..." Cooper hesitated for a mont, before finally speaking with difficulty, "I love you, the person I’ve always loved is only you."

"I know you can’t forgive , I’ll make it up slowly, using my actions to show you my determination," he glanced at Noah, "I will also fairly compete with big brother, to win back your heart, your love."

This ti, Yolanda let out a cold laugh and left with just three words, "You wish!"

Cooper watched Yolanda’s silhouette walking away, only feeling a piercing pain in his heart, but he wouldn’t easily admit defeat, "I won’t give up, no matter what you say, I won’t give up."

Noah gave Cooper a glance, quickly chasing after Yolanda, "Are you going back to Gray City now? Or should we find sowhere to rest a bit?"

"No, let’s go back, I’m worried about Ella." Yolanda’s attitude was very determined.

Outside, Captain Reyes had left a police car, plus Noah and Cooper’s car, making it two.

"Let’s go, let’s take this car back." Noah beckoned Yolanda into the police car, and he looked back at Cooper and Richard Reyes following, "You guys take that car back."

"Be careful on the road." Cooper reminded and added, "Help tell Yolanda, I’m sorry."

"Take care." Noah got into the car. Seeing Yolanda tiredly closing her eyes, he said nothing, silently starting the car and driving toward Gray City.

By the ti they got ho, it was already past four in the morning, with only the Postpartum Doula and Little Ella at ho.

"Where’s Lola?" Yolanda instinctively asked.

The Postpartum Doula shook her head, "Miss Gold returned yesterday, then left in the afternoon and hasn’t co back since."
