As soon as Adam Sterling walked in, he sensed that sothing was off. Instinctively, he glanced at Noah Coldson.

"Adam, let Yolanda explain it to you," Noah said, standing up while holding Little May’s hand. "May, why don’t we watch TV here, okay?"

"Alright," Little May glanced at Adam, then obediently sat next to Noah, watching TV with him.

Yolanda Greenwood and Lola Gold called Adam into the bedroom together.

"What’s going on?" Adam asked, puzzled. "lissa Greenwood gave Little May back this readily?"

Yolanda shook her head and, along with Lola, explained the entire situation to Adam.

"Adam, I rember you ntioned before that sothing didn’t seem right about Little May," Yolanda said with a worried look. "I’m so scared..."

Adam understood what she ant. "You’re afraid she might beco the next lissa Greenwood?"

Yolanda nodded. "Is there any way to prevent that? I really didn’t expect a child to have such deep thoughts."

"Let her co back to the base with ," Adam suddenly suggested. "Since you’re planning to deal with lissa, you can’t let her suspect anything. Little May has to be hidden. If she returns with to the base, it’s safe, and no one can find her."

Yolanda still seed hesitant. "Will that work? She’s not familiar with any of you. Wouldn’t taking her to the base cause trouble for you?"

"What she needs isn’t familiarity or soone to rely on," Adam’s eyes glead with admiration. "The fact that she dared to stay with lissa Greenwood proves that her courage surpasses everyone else’s."

"True," Lola couldn’t help but agree. "She could’ve chosen to stay with Yolanda, but she didn’t. This child... she’s a bit terrifying."

"Leave her to ," Adam’s eyes lit up, as if he had encountered an unprecedented challenge.

Yolanda hesitated for a mont, then nodded. "Adam, I’ll leave this to you."

"She’s a treasure," Adam said, his tone faintly tinged with excitent.

After making their decision, the group returned to the living room.

Yolanda sat beside Little May. "May, would you like to go to the base with Uncle Sterling tonight?"

"Aunt Yolanda doesn’t want ?" Little May looked at Yolanda. "Why?"

Yolanda had just opened her mouth to speak when Adam shook his head.

"Little May, you have to hide now," Adam said, looking seriously at her. "You’re a key witness. And, if we want to bring your mom to justice, we can’t give her any warning. We can’t let her figure out you’re not going to the U.S."

The little one’s eyes sparkled as she looked at Yolanda in excitent. "Aunt Yolanda, is Uncle Sterling telling the truth?"

"Yes."

Sure enough, what motivated Little May wasn’t care or affection, but a fighting spirit.

Yolanda patted Little May’s head. "May, the base is great. If you’re willing, you can beco even stronger there."

The little one was visibly tempted.

"When it’s all over, if you don’t like it there, Aunt Yolanda will bring you back, okay?"

Little May nodded firmly. "Okay, I’m willing to go with Uncle Sterling."

"Alright, it’s getting late. I’ll take her back now." Adam picked up Little May’s small suitcase, his gaze sweeping over the three. "Be careful. Good luck to all of you!"

The three of them saw them off together.

Afterward, the three discussed it again and decided to expose lissa Greenwood’s true colors in front of everyone at her wedding.

Yolanda reminded Noah, "Make sure to communicate properly with the family in the U.S. planning to adopt Little May. Don’t let anything slip."

"Don’t worry," Noah nodded.

Lola said thoughtfully, "Honestly, if we had more evidence, it’d be better. After all, Little May is still a child, and her testimony might not hold up."

"I’ll take a trip to the U.S. Maybe I can find more leads on Brooks Parker’s case," Noah nodded toward the two of them.

"Thanks for taking the trouble, big brother," Yolanda recalled what Jaxon Greenwood had ntioned that day. "lissa might have hired a hitman dostically. If we could find that hitman..."

"By the way, there’s sothing odd," Noah suddenly rembered, looking at Yolanda. "Richard Reyes is dead."

"What?" Both Yolanda and Lola were equally shocked.

"When did this happen?" Yolanda found it hard to take in. Richard had helped her so much. "Just a few days ago. They say it was a car accident returning from the airport. The car was burned to the fra, and he... was burned beyond recognition."

"How could this happen?" Yolanda found it unbelievable. "Richard didn’t seem like soone prone to such an accident. Could it be..."

Noah continued, "I heard that at the ti, Cooper seed to have sent Richard to do sothing. He got into the accident right after returning."

"Could this have sothing to do with lissa Greenwood?" Lola found it chilling.

"I’m not sure," Noah shook his head. He had rely recalled it suddenly and felt Yolanda should know since she had a close relationship with Richard. But he didn’t want her getting involved in tracking a hitman—they were too dangerous.

"Yolanda, I’ll find soone to keep an eye out for the hitman. Don’t get involved," he said gravely, looking at her. "It’s too dangerous."

"Alright, I understand," Yolanda nodded but resolved internally that she must attend Richard’s funeral.

"Yolanda," with lissa about to be exposed and Noah’s secrets unlikely to remain hidden, Noah sighed. "There’s sothing I think I should tell you."

"You two talk; I’m heading out," Lola stood to leave.

"It’s fine," Noah gave a bitter smile. "You can stay, it doesn’t matter."

"Forget it. So things..." Lola winked at the two. "I think it’s better if I don’t know."

She left without looking back.

Yolanda already felt that whatever Noah was about to say was sothing she didn’t want to hear. She looked at him. "Do you have to say it? Actually..."

"I have to." Gathering his courage wasn’t easy for Noah, but he couldn’t let himself be outdone by a child who was barely two or three years old.

"Alright," Yolanda took a deep breath. "Go ahead. I’m ready."

"Yolanda, I’m sorry. Actually..." Noah lowered his head, struggling to finally speak. "Actually, in the past, I helped lissa multiple tis."

Yolanda was stunned. She genuinely hadn’t expected Noah to have helped lissa. She’d thought he might have done sothing wrong but never suspected it would involve lissa Greenwood.

"But don’t worry, I didn’t help her kill anyone. It’s just that..." Noah’s face was full of regret. "At the ti, I wanted so badly to be with you that I helped her deceive Cooper—led him to believe we were together, that we were getting married. As for... the child, that was also lissa’s idea."
