Yolanda Greenwood returned to the camp and had been lying obediently in the infirmary ever since. Adam Sterling had co to chat with her for a bit and his expression was awful after he left.
"How is it going?" Noah Coldson asked anxiously, feeling that sothing was not quite right with Yolanda but unable to pinpoint what it was.
Adam Sterling inquired about what had happened after they had left.
Noah Coldson explained everything critically.
Adam Sterling sighed deeply, "In the end, she couldn’t avoid it."
"What?" Noah Coldson grew even more tense, "What exactly is wrong with Yolanda?"
"She is now suffering from depression, and it’s moderate depression," Adam Sterling shook his head. "At that ti, I shouldn’t have agreed to let you leave."
But he wasn’t Yolanda’s doctor, and he had no right to interfere with her.
"Moderate?" Noah Coldson didn’t quite understand, "What will happen?"
Adam Sterling was speechless, "Well, it won’t be too bad, just insomnia, poor appetite, lack of interest in everything; if it progresses further, she might start to find life aningless."
Noah Coldson’s legs went weak instantly, knowing that people with depression could beco suicidal, yet he could not accept that it may happen to Yolanda.
"What should we do? We have to help her, we must help her," he grasped Adam Sterling’s arm, looking as if he would fight Adam Sterling if he refused.
"What are you going crazy for?" Adam Sterling pulled his arm back.
In the past, he might have refused to help, but now, he too felt Yolanda was too pitiful.
"Be nice to ," Adam Sterling said helplessly, "But you did do one thing right by bringing her back."
Here, Yolanda could be completely isolated from the chaotic world outside, which was ultimately good.
Now it was up to them.
He then told Noah Coldson so things to be mindful of.
"Okay, I got it," Noah Coldson nodded repeatedly, his mind clearly shaken.
Adam Sterling saw this side of Noah Coldson for the first ti. Noah Coldson, even in the most dangerous monts of a mission, never showed fear on his face.
Now... he couldn’t help but tease, "You really do love her, don’t you?"
Noah Coldson snapped back to reality, "Yeah."
Adam Sterling nodded, "Good, I have finally found the commander’s weak spot. From now on, the commander will have to do my bidding."
"Cut it out!" Noah Coldson scoffed, then earnestly said, "As long as she can be cured, I would wash your socks for a lifeti."
"Co on, have I ever really made you wash my socks?" Adam Sterling pursed his lips.
He was a clean-cut and clean-living man, a rarity in the camp. Whether it was his personal appearance or his living space, both were uniquely refreshing.
Noah Coldson tugged at the corner of his mouth, "Alright, then I’ll go see her."
Adam Sterling watched Noah Coldson walk away, then he sighed softly to himself and headed to his room.
When Noah Coldson entered the infirmary, Yolanda seed to be reading a book.
But he stood at the door for a while, and Yolanda neither turned the page nor noticed his presence.
"Cough, cough..." he had to make a noise to alert her.
"Noah, big brother," Yolanda closed her book and gave a faint smile, "Why are you here? I’ve troubled you guys again."
"It’s okay, right now, the guys are actually quite happy you’re here; otherwise, the place reeks of n. Those rascals are always looking to run outside."
Noah Coldson sat beside the bed, pointed toward the sneakily escaping Alex Johnson, "See? That kid is one of them."
Yolanda laughed again, but there was no laughter in her eyes. Looking at Alex Johnson escaping outside, she seed filled with envy.
She didn’t speak further, just listlessly watched outside.
"Do you want to go out for a walk?" Noah Coldson offered, "Now the sun is at its highest, it should be warm enough."
Yolanda shook her head, "I just want to lie here."
Noah Coldson’s heart tightened. He rembered the last ti he brought Yolanda here, Ivy Hall had requested that Yolanda be confined to bed rest, but back then, Yolanda always complained of boredom.
His peripheral vision observed the person on the bed, thinking that Yolanda truly seed like a ray of light, slowly dimming.
Adam Sterling’s words suddenly flashed through Noah Coldson’s mind: In a person with depression, you can clearly see life slipping away.
Noah Coldson felt an unbearable pain and it took him a while to speak normally again, "By the way, Yolanda, isn’t Lola going on a date today? Aren’t you curious how it went?"
Yolanda finally reacted a little, "Communication with the outside isn’t easy from here, right?"
She quickly gave up, "Never mind, I trust Lola can handle it herself."
"No worries, I’ll make arrangents." Noah Coldson wanted Lola Gold to talk to Yolanda.
"Really, there’s no need," Yolanda was still very resistant.
Adam Sterling said that if Yolanda’s condition worsened, she would completely shut herself off and refuse to communicate with anyone.
Noah Coldson absolutely wouldn’t allow such a thing to happen, "I’m going to arrange it, just wait for ."
After dinner, Yolanda indeed managed to video call Lola Gold.
Lola Gold seed very happy, talking non-stop, "Yolanda, I might be getting out of the single life soon, you wouldn’t believe it, Ethan Taylor is especially nice to ."
"Really?" Yolanda’s eyes brightened.
"Really, we went to the amusent park today, and it was a lot of fun." Lola Gold kept observing Yolanda’s reactions.
Previously, Noah Coldson had already told her about Yolanda’s situation, so she couldn’t say anything distressing to worry Yolanda further.
She continued to make up happy stories, "We rode on the rry-go-round and the roller coaster. I actually threw up after getting off the roller coaster, but Ethan Taylor was really thoughtful and bought water and stayed with while I rested. I think he’s pretty nice."
Yolanda was genuinely happy for her; she and Lola Gold each needed so happiness.
"That’s good, once I get a little better, introduce us."
"Of course, he won’t win my heart without your approval," Lola Gold burst out laughing, feeling less gloomy after their chat.
The two of them chatted idly for a while longer before hanging up the video call, and there was still a smile on Yolanda’s face.
Noah Coldson escorted her back, but by the ti they reached the infirmary, Yolanda’s face had beco expressionless again.
That night, he went to drink with Adam Sterling, who said the road to combating depression was long, with so people never escaping it their whole lives.
"I’m not giving Cooper a chance to hurt her again." After drinking too much, Noah Coldson’s words carried a fierce determination.
Adam Sterling warned him, "But he’s the one Yolanda loves, perhaps he could be her cure."
"Impossible!" Noah Coldson beca very angry thinking of everything that had happened at the hospital, including Cooper Coldson’s disbelief in Yolanda, "Anyway, this ti, I won’t let go, no matter the cost, I won’t let go of Yolanda."
Adam Sterling paused, a glass of wine down, and rely said four words, "I wish you success!"
