Recalling all this, Chloe Nash felt as if it had happened just yesterday.
Involuntarily, she straightened her back and held her breath.
Her already pale face lost even more color.
Seeing Chloe in this state, Silas Prescott looked at her with concern: "Dr. Nash, is there sothing here that makes you uncomfortable? If so, please tell , and I’ll change it for you."
His deanor was elegant, with no hint of his dangerous side visible to anyone.
Chloe shook her head quickly, frightened: "No, everything’s fine."
Silas took out a pair of slippers from the shoe cabinet that Sienna Paxton once wore, handing them to Chloe.
"I haven’t had a chance to buy new ones for you; wear these for now."
Chloe pretended not to mind, unhesitatingly taking off her shoes and putting them on.
Silas’s eyes revealed a fleeting, unreadable expression.
He smiled and said, "Dr. Nash, not only is your silhouette like Sienna’s, even your foot size is the sa."
Hearing this, Chloe felt her toes go numb.
She wasn’t sure if Silas was setting a trap for her.
She gave a slight smile, "It’s not unusual; most girls have my shoe size."
"Yes, true," Silas said, taking off his coat and rolling up his shirt sleeves to reveal his smoothly contoured forearm.
He walked to Julian Prescott’s side, pinched his cheek, and said, "Play by yourself and let Dr. Nash and Daddy cook, alright? No mischief, okay?"
Julian obediently nodded, took out paper and pencil from his small backpack, and started drawing intently.
The two quickly got into their roles, leaving only Chloe standing awkwardly in place.
As if there was a fierce beast here, she dared not step forward even a little.
This place held many mories of her and Silas, she feared she’d accidentally reveal hidden details if she wasn’t careful.
Silas took vegetables and at out of the fridge and stood at the kitchen entrance, watching the dazed Chloe.
With a gentle tone, he said, "Dr. Nash, how about braised beef with potatoes, sweet-and-sour ribs, garlic oil lettuce, sausage snow peas, and add an egg drop soup?"
These were Sienna’s favorite dishes, which Silas used to always cook for her.
Chloe couldn’t help but clench her fingers, trying her best to appear natural.
She gave a small smile, "I’m not picky about food, anything’s fine."
"Alright, you help prep these vegetables, and I’ll cut the at."
Silas, just like before, assigned her tasks.
He always said, the al made together with her was the finest cuisine.
Except sotis, instead of cooking seriously, they cooked up romance.
Almost like being spontaneous anyti, anywhere, more carefree than the neighbor’s dog downstairs.
Chloe took off her coat, wearing a simple black T-shirt and straight-leg jeans.
Casually tying her hair up behind her head.
Under Silas’s gaze, her actions of washing and cutting vegetables were very skillful, clearly having done this countless tis before.
Feeling that Silas seed sowhat puzzled, she finally sighed in relief, feeling a sense of calm from successfully passing this hurdle.
Luckily, back when she couldn’t adapt to the food abroad, she had learned a lot of cooking skills following Sienna.
These were things Silas did not know.
Chloe slightly lowered her eyes, a few strands of hair falling beside her ears, brushing against her delicate collarbone.
Silas’s eyes couldn’t help but linger on her for a while.
As if he was back five years ago, in the good tis here with Sienna.
But Sienna, that little fool, couldn’t cook, not even holding a knife properly.
But Chloe...
Silas’s gaze suddenly deepened, and Chloe, feeling it on her for too long, began to feel unsteady.
Her hands trembled, and the knife cut into her fingertip.
She quickly applied pressure, but the blood still flowed through her fingers.
Seeing this, Silas imdiately put down his work and grabbed Chloe’s wrist.
Without hesitation, he put her injured finger in his mouth to suck on it.
The motion was so fluid, Chloe had no defense against it.
Just like in the past when they were together, whenever she got hurt, Silas did the sa.
The warm sensation, the damp tongue gave Chloe a feeling as if a weak electric current passed through her fingertips.
The tingling sensation spread from her fingers to the rest of her body.
Her cheeks blushed uncontrollably.
She quickly withdrew her finger, her eyes flustered, "It’s okay, just a small cut."
But Silas wasn’t letting her go, grabbing her wrist and pushing her onto the sofa.
To Julian, he said, "Julian, bring the first aid kit over."
Seeing his mom injured, Julian imdiately put down his paintbrush and ran to the cabinet, struggling to get out the first aid kit.
Affectionately, he patted Chloe’s cheek, "Mommy, don’t cry."
Chloe smiled at him, "It’s okay, just a small cut."
Silas carefully examined the wound, indeed it wasn’t big.
He first applied iodine, then so Yunnan Baiyao.
Finally, he wrapped it in gauze.
Then he instructed, "Don’t get it wet, spend ti drawing with Julian; I can take care of cooking alone."
Chloe didn’t insist, she really didn’t want to be in the sa kitchen as Silas.
An hour later, Silas’s voice ca from the kitchen.
"Chloe, fetch the bowls and chopsticks, it’s ti to eat."
Chloe was engrossed in Julian’s drawings when the shout ca, instinctively heading to the cupboard.
She was about to reach for it when she suddenly realized sothing was amiss.
This was her first ti here, logically she shouldn’t know where the bowls and chopsticks were.
Chloe, frightened, broke into a cold sweat.
Regaining her composure, she asked, "Where are the bowls and chopsticks?"
Silas pointed to the cabinet behind Chloe, "Right over there."
Chloe quickly took the bowls and chopsticks and hurried out.
She felt that Silas was like a landmine, unpredictable and ready to explode at any mont.
She couldn’t let him linger here too long.
Seeing the dishes were served.
Julian clapped his little hands in excitent, this was the first ti having both mommy and daddy eating with him.
He was so happy.
Excitedly, he ate a big bowl of food, ending with a small tummy round and full.
After the al, Silas cleaned up while Chloe accompanied Julian to his bed to tell stories.
She was always distracted, glancing towards the door.
She didn’t know how much ti passed before Silas ca in, kissing Julian’s forehead, "You sleep with Dr. Nash, daddy’s going to check on your great-grandfather."
Julian nodded eagerly, waving at Silas, wishing he’d leave soon.
Silas tapped his head, "Just like Sienna, little ungrateful ones, I’m so good to you yet you don’t like spending ti with ."
As he spoke, his gaze was fixed on Chloe.
As if trying to find a trace of sothing from her expression.
Chloe’s hand hidden under the covers couldn’t help but tighten on the sheets, but her face remained calm, "Say goodbye to daddy, we’re going to sleep too."
Julian obediently waved while saying, "Bye-bye, daddy."
Seeing he was talking more, Silas curved his lips slightly, "You rest, I’m leaving."
Not until hearing the door close.
Silas went downstairs.
Only then did Chloe’s tightly wound nerves finally relax.
After experiencing so much during these days, she was already tired, lying on the bed, she fell asleep in no ti.
Seeing the room light dim, Silas sat in the car taking a drag on his cigarette.
The dark eyes reflected the flickering fla.
Revealing all the desires in his eyes.
