Silas’s eyes held a look of suspicion, coupled with his innate sense of intimidation, made the doctor feel sowhat uneasy.

Not only did she help Sienna hide the fact that she had given birth, but she also concealed her illness.

If Silas found out, he would definitely bla her.

But for Sienna’s sake, she had no choice but to take the risk and lie.

The doctor nodded affirmatively: "No, Dr. Paxton originally had dysnorrhea, she went to a war zone where the conditions were harsh, damp, and cold, so it’s normal for the illness to worsen. Plus, she’s suffered two bouts of cold, which is another reason for the worsening of her dysnorrhea. Just follow my prescription for so ti after returning ho, and she’ll be fine."

Upon hearing these words, an indescribable expression flashed in Silas’s eyes.

He didn’t wait for the doctor to finish, said a quick ’thank you,’ and rushed to Sienna’s bedside.

He bent down, gently stroking Sienna’s pale cheek with his thumb, his voice hoarse.

"Sienna, I’m sorry."

He lowered his head and kissed Sienna on the brow.

He wanted to say that if it weren’t for his forceful love, Sienna wouldn’t have gone to such a place, making her health worse.

If it weren’t for him, Sienna wouldn’t have suffered from the cold twice.

All of this was because of him.

He hated his past self, wondering why he treated Sienna that way.

He hated why he didn’t co to his senses sooner.

If everything could start over, he would definitely take good care of her, not letting her suffer any grievances.

In Silas’s eyes, Sienna saw crystalline tears and the guilt hidden deep within his gaze.

She only told him that the dysnorrhea worsened, and this was his reaction. If she told him they had once had a child who died in the war zone because of him, would Silas bla himself to death?

If he knew that she could no longer get pregnant due to hemorrhage during childbirth and two bouts of cold, would his recently improved health relapse?

Thinking of this possibility, Sienna quickly restrained her emotions and gently caressed Silas’s head, saying, "I’m okay. After so many years, I’ve already gotten used to it, except this ti I wasn’t careful."

Silas slowly lifted his head, his dark eyes unable to conceal his heartache.

"If you hadn’t gone to the war zone back then, this sickness wouldn’t have worsened. It’s all my fault, I didn’t take good care of you, and let you endure so much grievance, Sienna, how can I make up for my mistakes?"

He held Sienna’s hand to his face, his eyes filled with pain as he looked at her.

He knew how uncomfortable Sienna was during dysnorrhea.

The pain would make her roll on the bed, her face as white as paper.

In severe cases, she would even vomit.

The first month Sienna ca to the Prescott Family, he returned ho late after a weekend project.

While passing by Sienna’s room, he heard soft sobs coming from inside.

He thought Sienna was missing her family again and planned to knock and comfort her.

But when he opened the door, the scene before him startled him.

Sienna was clutching her knees, rolling back and forth on the bed.

Her face was ghostly pale, even her lips lacked any color.

Her small face was covered with tear stains, and her beautiful eyes were filled with endless pain.

Seeing her like this, Silas rushed over, gently stroking Sienna’s cheek.

His voice tender, "Sienna, where does it hurt, let brother take you to the hospital."

Seeing him enter, Sienna bore the pain and shook her head, bashfully saying, "Brother, I just ate too much, my stomach hurts, you don’t have to worry, it’ll be okay soon."

At that ti, Sienna had just co to the Prescott Family, and she ate very little.

With her illness, how could she dare to make it known.

Seeing a pack of sanitary pads on the bed, Silas imdiately understood what was going on.

He rubbed her head and said, "Don’t be afraid, brother will make you so ginger jujube tea."

He got a heat patch for Sienna to put on her stomach, then personally went to the kitchen to make ginger jujube tea.

At that ti, he had been working on a project for 48 hours without sleeping, intending to co ho for a good rest, but ended up encountering Sienna’s dysnorrhea.

After Sienna drank the ginger jujube tea, he stayed with her for a while until the pain eased.

To let her have a good sleep, Silas read her a story from a book for the first ti.

He only left after seeing she had fallen asleep.

At that ti, he gazed at Sienna’s face and softly vowed, "Sienna, with brother here, you won’t ever have to suffer again."

Recalling these monts, Silas’s sense of heartache for Sienna grew stronger.

Without so much suffering, Sienna’s dysnorrhea was already that painful.

How much does she hurt now.

Seeing him on the verge of tears out of heartache, Sienna also felt distressed.

Tears were rolling in her eyes as well.

She and Silas circled each other for so many years, finally coming together, only for fate to play such a big joke on her.

They loved each other for so many years. One, knowing he had hurt her, still chose to stay when he learned he was ill.

The other, knowing she was already dead, still searched for her for five years.

The two stumbled along and finally ca together, and Sienna truly couldn’t bear to part.

However, thinking of her health, she was at a loss about what to do.

Sienna gazed into Silas’s tear-filled eyes and softly called, "Brother."

Silas replied in a deep voice, "Hmm, brother is here. If it hurts, brother will rub it for you."

Sienna shook her head, "I’m okay, just carry ho."

"Don’t you need to be observed for a bit longer?"

"No, I know what’s happening, I want to go ho with you."

She tightly wrapped her arms around Silas’s neck, and as the familiar scent from him filled her senses, Sienna could no longer hold back her long-suppressed emotions.

Tears rolled down her cheeks, her words laced with a sob.

"Brother, just hold ."

Seeing her being so clingy, Silas felt sothing was off.

The last ti Sienna was this clingy to him was five years ago, a few nights before she went to the war zone.

At that ti, Sienna, who always resisted being close to him, initiated for the first ti to throw herself into his arms.

She even initiated kisses and made love with him.

Back then, he thought his true feelings had touched Sienna, and she couldn’t help but fall in love with him as well.

It wasn’t until he returned from the business trip that he found out the reason Sienna treated him like that was her final burst of affection before leaving.

It was her last tenderness before parting ways.

Recalling the past, Silas still felt a lingering fear.

He gently patted Sienna’s head, his voice soft, "Alright, brother will hold you."

Silas Prescott bent down and held Sienna in his arms, carrying her out of the hospital room like a child.

When they got ho, he carefully placed Sienna on the bed.

Looking into her eyes, he asked, "Do you feel better now? Let massage it for you."

Sienna shook her head, "No need, I’m much better. Stay with and rest for a while, okay?"

She snuggled into Silas’s embrace, wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed his chin.

Her already charming eyes were filled with sincerity, "Silas, do you truly want to give Julian a little sister?"

Silas looked at her for a few seconds, "Why did you suddenly ask this question?"

"Because before, you didn’t like kids and even said you didn’t want any. I’m afraid if I got pregnant, you might not want it."

Silas lowered his head and kissed her eyes, "I’m sorry. I used to think that if you had a child, you wouldn’t be able to love wholeheartedly, so I didn’t want one. Plus, I never received love from my parents, and I was afraid I wouldn’t love my child, or that they’d suffer like I did before."

He looked down at her with an expression of unprecedented sincerity in his eyes.

"But it’s different now. My illness is cured, and I won’t compete with a child for attention. I’ve also cared for Julian for four years, so I know how to love a child. If you’re willing, I’d very much like us to have a child of our own."

Hearing these words, Sienna felt a pang of pain in her heart.

She knew it; the Silas now was different from before.

He had a strong desire for a child.

Especially for a daughter. Last ti, when dining with Chase Hughes’s family, Silas’s eyes practically clung to their little girl.

It was the first ti Sienna saw such a longing look in Silas’s eyes.

And the first ti she saw him take more than a cursory glance at a child other than Julian.

Sienna lay in Silas’s embrace, smiling at the corners of her mouth, but the shirt buried in his chest was damp.

After a long ti, she finally raised her head and said, "Once our joint project is launched, we’ll get married, then have a beautiful daughter, okay?"

Hearing this, Silas looked at her in disbelief, "Sienna, are you serious? Did I pass your probation period?"

Sienna smiled, "I’m doing it for Julian’s sake, ending your probation early. Don’t get too proud."

Silas excitedly gave her a heavy kiss on the face and laughed, "I won’t get too proud. I’ll keep working hard. I’ll love you well."

Faced with his promise, seeing his barely suppressed emotions, Sienna didn’t know how to describe her feelings.

If ti had turned back five years, and she knew Silas would have this attitude after finding out she was pregnant, their son would be as old as Julian now.

How wonderful that would be.

But, in this world, there is never a "what if."

What’s lost can never be regained.

That night, Sienna couldn’t sleep at all. She lay in Silas’s arms, feeling his heartbeat.

She didn’t know why she agreed to Silas, knowing that having a child was an incredibly difficult thing for her.

Even more unlikely than winning a hundred-million-dollar lottery.

But she just wanted to take a gamble, to use her love with Silas as a bet.

Betting that she could overco all difficulties and have a child of their own.

——

A few days later, Sienna found that obstetric doctor again.

She spoke the words she had been pondering over for days.

"Director Hall, I’d like to try a treatnt. Do you think it’s possible?"

Director Hall looked at her test data and frowned, "Dr. Paxton, you know that a five percent chance is almost a death sentence in gynecology. I’ve seen so many patients, and in cases like yours, after taking dicine for many years, none have succeeded. Moreover, the treatnt process is very painful. You’ll have to take many kinds of traditional dicine and abstain from certain foods. This is not sothing the average person can endure."

Sienna nodded without hesitation, "If it’s possible, I can endure it, Director Hall. I want to try."

Seeing her so persistent, Director Hall looked troubled and frowned.

"I can’t help you with my current dical skills, unless you can find Old Mr. Sinclair from a family of traditional Chinese dicine. He’s the best in the world at treating infertility, but he’s been off the grid for years. So say he’s passed away, while others say he’s retired to the countryside. If he’s still alive and you can find him, your success rate might increase by thirty percent."

Hearing this news, Sienna was elated, "Do you have any information about him?"

"No, I only know he was once the Family Head of The Sinclairs of Southlands, but he retired many years ago. I hope you have the luck to find him."

Despite this, Sienna was still full of hope.

She smiled and nodded, "Thank you, I hope luck is on my side."

Back in the office, Sienna gathered a lot of information about Old Master Sinclair.

Old Master Sinclair had a son and a daughter. His son died in a car accident early on and left no children. Now his daughter is the current Family Head.

Old Master Sinclair had unique redies for treating infertility. Many offered vast sums for these redies but couldn’t obtain them.

But he also didn’t pass them on to his daughter.

The Sinclair Family declined gradually after Old Master Sinclair’s retirent.

Seeing early photos of Old Master Sinclair, Sienna found him oddly familiar.

It seed like he resembled soone she knew, or perhaps she had seen him sowhere.

As Sienna was staring at these on the computer, Caden Sinclair suddenly knocked and ca in.

He placed a box of ice cream on Sienna’s desk, "Your favorite vanilla ice cream."

Sienna shook her head, "From now on, I have to abstain from certain foods, starting with cold foods."

Caden frowned at her, "Have you made a decision?"

"I want to try the redy. What if it succeeds?"

Caden scoffed, "I’ve seen your dical records. It’s incredibly hard to cure. You’ll have to take various traditional dicines for adjustnt, and even need acupuncture. Can you, soone afraid of pain, endure that?"

He knew Sienna the best. She disliked taking traditional dicine and hated needles.

But she had endured severe pain to give birth to a child through cesarean section.

Back then, in a war zone with a shortage of anesthesia, Sienna used an ordinary amount of dication.

This made Caden see her in a new light.

Back then and now, for the sake of a child, she could endure what others couldn’t.

Sienna chuckled lightly, "As long as there’s a way, I can endure. I need to find this person. If I can reach him, my child will have a chance. By then, you’d be the godfather."

Caden sighed, "You’re really all in for Silas, but don’t bla for pouring cold water on you. Even if you’ve suffered hardships, success is not guaranteed. You need to be prepared for both outcos."

He spoke while walking to Sienna’s side, bending down to look at the information on her computer.

Upon seeing Old Master Sinclair’s photo, Caden was instantly stunned, his once-smiling eyes filled with shock.

He stared at the photo for a long ti.

It seed to resemble soone from his mories.

When Sienna saw him fall silent for so long, she nudged him, "You’re so engrossed, do you know this person? If you do, help get an introduction. If I can find him, I have hope for a cure."

Sienna looked up at Caden, just in ti to catch the sharpness in his eyes.

She was surprised, "Don’t you think this old man looks a lot like you?"
