Jeanette Grant had never seen her Third Brother like this before.

His face was as deep as an abyss, looking terrifying, with a tense aura around him, as if he was about to explode. He stared intently at Eleanor Winslow, fearing she would disappear if he blinked.

Eleanor’s cheeks to her neck showed an unnatural red, and Adrian Grant lifted her sleeve to see red rashes on her arm.

"Prepare the car! Call the doctor!" Adrian Grant picked up Eleanor Winslow in his arms.

"She actually concealed her illness before marrying into the Grant Family, my god! Good thing our family called off the engagent..." Third Aunt Grant didn’t finish her muttering when Adrian Grant shot her a sharp look.

Third Aunt Grant imdiately closed her mouth, taking a step back in fear.

"Investigate all those who approached Eleanor and the glass of water just now!" Adrian Grant instructed the servants, then rushed outside holding Eleanor Winslow.

"Eleanor! Eleanor, wake up!"

The Maybach sped towards the hospital, with Adrian Grant holding the woman in his arms, shouting continuously.

Eleanor, being a picky eater, had lost so weight during her busy internship, and Adrian Grant felt she was light as a feather in his arms, as if he couldn’t grasp anything.

The family doctor was accompanying them, intending to check Eleanor, but Adrian Grant didn’t allow it.

"She has a severe acute allergy that caused anaphylactic shock when she was young. Contact the hospital to prepare the dication!"

The family doctor nodded repeatedly.

He didn’t even know what allergies the Third Young Madam had, but how did the Third Young Master know so clearly? And recognize it so quickly?

Wasn’t it said that the couple had a poor relationship?

Could it be that this wasn’t true love?

"Eleanor, Eleanor, don’t sleep." Adrian Grant wanted to tighten his arms, to hold her closer, but her delicate brows were furrowed, she was already struggling to breathe, how could he dare exert force?

Eleanor was awakened by the noise, struggling to open her eyes a little, and saw the person above.

"Adri—an—"

Each word she spoke was difficult.

"I’m here."

Adrian Grant leaned down, placing his ear by Eleanor’s mouth.

"Uncom—"

But there was no more word, Eleanor’s eyes were already closed, swollen, looking both aggrieved and pitiful.

Adrian Grant’s heart twisted into a knot,

he knew what she wanted to say.

She wanted to say uncomfortable.

-

Eleanor suffered an anaphylactic shock due to a peanut allergy.

Old Madam Grant, after her nap, learned that Eleanor was hospitalized and was anxious, stamping her feet on the spot. Only when she was told Eleanor had safely co out of the ergency room was she persuaded not to go to the hospital in person.

When she regained consciousness, Eleanor’s first sensation was a painful throat and a tight neck.

She instinctively reached out to scratch, but as soon as her hand was raised, it was gently held down by soone.

"Don’t move." Adrian Grant’s large hand gently covered her hand, which was receiving an IV drip.

Eleanor followed the voice to look at him, with just-awakened confusion in her eyes, still a bit muddled.

Her sense of sll slowly ca back, detecting the scent of antiseptic, she surveyed the surroundings to confirm she was in a hospital.

Eleanor wanted to speak, but her throat felt like sothing was blocking it, any movent was painful.

"Wait until the drip finishes." Adrian Grant glanced at the IV bottle, estimating about an hour left.

"What... happened... to ?" Eleanor still wanted to ask.

"Anaphylactic shock caused by a peanut allergy." Adrian Grant felt Eleanor’s sowhat cold hand, placing it under the blanket, "Don’t talk."

Eleanor blinked her eyes.

When she was nine, she experienced this in Aethelgard after accidentally ingesting peanuts. It was Adrian Grant who took her to the hospital then. At that ti, she had already detected the unusually close relationship between Eugene Winslow and his wife Mia and Yvonne Vance, and by the ti she had the accident and was hospitalized, only Adrian Grant stayed with her. Later, her mother rushed over from Hongkong to take her ho.

In the past, she really thought that Adrian Grant was very, very good to her.

Thinking of the past, Eleanor’s already swollen eyes felt even more sore.

She turned her head to the other side, a tear slid uncontrollably from the corner into the pillow.

"Knock knock knock!"

It was Charles Rhodes knocking on the door.

"President Grant, Madam, your Second Uncle, Third Uncle and their families are on the way to visit Madam, and Madam’s sister, Miss Mia Winslow, is with them too."

The second and third branches of the family were right beside Eleanor, no matter what sches they harbored, they couldn’t possibly remain indifferent and not visit Eleanor.

Eleanor frowned, not really wanting to see them.

"They’re already on the way?" Adrian asked.

Charles Rhodes nodded.

Adrian Grant sat on the sofa: "Let them wait outside when they arrive."

Eleanor looked at him in astonishnt, clearly intending to show face.

He didn’t want to see them either?

Or did he see that she didn’t want to see them?

Eleanor’s still swollen eyes widened, looking both pitiable and amusing.

A glimr of amusent flashed in Adrian’s eyes as he sat on the sofa beside her.

As Eleanor looked and thought, she suddenly rembered sothing, saw her phone on the bedside table, and picked it up with her hand not attached to the IV, opening the front cara to see her face was still swollen like dough!

Adrian Grant just now was actually laughing at her?!

Eleanor, angry, grabbed the pillow from beside her and threw it at the man on the sofa, glaring at him.

Why was she having an allergic reaction, after all, because of him!

If it wasn’t for going to his house for the birthday celebration!

Laugh, laugh my ass!

Adrian Grant raised his hand effortlessly caught the pillow, placed it beside him, and no longer looked at Eleanor.

Eleanor seriously suspected that he was avoiding looking at her again, fearing he would laugh!

Twenty minutes later.

The Grant family’s second and third branches and Mia Winslow were waiting outside the ward, but Adrian Grant showed no intention of eting them, and they didn’t dare to knock—since Charles Rhodes, President Grant’s right-hand man, was sitting outside!

The dusk’s fading light poured in through the floor-to-ceiling window, casting a golden hue on the man.

Eleanor’s throat felt a bit better, and she could talk.

"Adrian Grant." Her voice, unused for a long ti, was sowhat soft and waxy, "Why aren’t you letting them in?"

Adrian Grant set down the docunt in his hand: "It’s your ward."

Eleanor lowered her eyes, her heart feeling a bit soft, and said no more.

It turned out, he was truly waiting for her permission.

After a while, Adrian Grant’s phone rang.

"Hello, Mia."

The mont he spoke, Eleanor looked at him.

The room in the private hospital had excellent soundproofing, Eleanor couldn’t hear the sounds outside.

She could only watch Adrian Grant quietly and passively, waiting for his reaction to Mia Winslow.
