"What, President Grant planning to make things difficult for him?" Eleanor Winslow said deliberately, worried that Adrian Grant might use public office for private revenge.

Sure enough, Adrian Grant scoffed disdainfully, "He’s not worth it!"

-

Sean Morgan had just splashed cold water on his face twice, trying to calm himself down, when footsteps approached from outside.

When he opened his eyes in the cold water, the distinguished man in a tailor-made suit stood two steps beside him, looking at him with a calm indifference, as if observing so annoying ant.

"President... President Grant..." Sean Morgan instinctively stood up straight.

Adrian Grant glanced at him, lowered his head, and washed his hands, rubbing soap up to his forearms, rinsing repeatedly.

He said nothing, and Sean Morgan was the first to lose his composure.

"President Grant, you and Eleanor..."

Adrian Grant looked at him through the mirror, his gaze sharp, "You just confessed to my wife in front of ."

And said you wanted to pursue her.

Sean Morgan’s face went pale instantly, even more incredulous, "You... you..."

He had originally thought Eleanor Winslow and Adrian Grant were just dating, never imagined they were actually married?

"Don’t believe ? Want to see the marriage certificate?" Adrian Grant slowly wiped his hands.

"No, no, no need!" The closed space of the restroom made Sean Morgan a bit breathless.

Suddenly switching the topic, Adrian Grant asked, "How was the al?"

Sean Morgan didn’t understand why Adrian Grant suddenly asked this, but answered truthfully, "This private kitchen is top-notch among the restaurants I’ve eaten at."

Adrian Grant was satisfied with this answer, "I invested in this restaurant, to make it convenient for Eleanor when she cos to my office for als."

He stood up straight, his height slightly taller than Sean Morgan, exerting more pressure, "Sean Morgan, you can’t take care of such a rose."

The restaurant you regard as top-notch is just a place I casually opened for my wife to eat at; it’s not sothing you should think about, don’t even consider it!

At this mont, Sean Morgan felt more acutely the gap between himself and Adrian Grant.

It was not just about workplace status, but also confidence and aura.

And the absolute possessiveness over Eleanor, the object of his affection!

-

At the dining table, only Eleanor Winslow and Mia Winslow were left, staring at each other.

The private restaurant was elegantly decorated, with live violin music, but Eleanor had no mood to appreciate it.

"You’re still so attractive, finding another so quickly even before getting divorced." Mia Winslow said leisurely, arms crossed.

Eleanor took a sip of water, "Unlike you, targeting soone else’s husband early on, and keeping at it for years."

"Eleanor, the one not loved is the other woman."

Eleanor retorted with a cold laugh, "You and your mother are the sa!"

Always shalessly coveting other people’s husbands!

Mia wasn’t angry at Eleanor’s mockery, laughing as she said:

"Dad and my mom were childhood sweethearts, they were separated regretfully back then, your mother was the one who intervened midway. And you—" She paused, "Who in our circle doesn’t know you climbed into bed to rise? It was you who stole my Adrian Grant!"

Hearing the word ’bastard’ didn’t affect Eleanor, but the phrase ’climb into bed to rise’ made her grip the knife and fork tightly, her knuckles turning white.

She couldn’t refute.

Back then she drank too much, saw Adrian Grant whom she secretly loved, and as long as Adrian Grant was willing, it was just the matter between two consenting adults, wasn’t it?

She didn’t need Adrian Grant to take responsibility!

The trouble was that the Grant family elders found out!

"Ha!" Eleanor suddenly laughed, her eyes curved into beautiful crescents, "Yours? Mia Winslow, since he’s yours, why don’t you make Adrian Grant divorce imdiately? He hasn’t signed the divorce papers yet, guess what he’s thinking in his heart?"

Mia’s face suddenly turned ugly, the fork scraping the porcelain plate made a piercing noise.

"Eleanor, you aren’t imagining Adrian Grant has any feelings for you, are you?"

Eleanor shrugged, playfully saying, "Who knows? Haven’t you heard, feelings develop over ti?"

Eleanor didn’t understand Adrian Grant’s thoughts either, she just wanted to disgust Mia.

Mia truly hated Eleanor’s innocent appearance, yet she was a cunning little bitch!

Seeing Adrian Grant returning from the corner of her eye, and noticing the waiter passing by with hot soup, Mia hatched a plan!

"Your Lawyer Morgan has already left." Mia pointed towards the exit.

Eleanor knew Sean got agitated today, and without a second thought stood up, intending to chase after him.

Who knew, almost simultaneously, Mia stood up as well, both of them moving quickly, nearly colliding by chance.

Catching a glimpse of Mia bumping into an incoming person, Eleanor quickly stepped back, hearing the waiter exclaim, "Watch out—"

In a flash, Eleanor heard hurried footsteps approaching, then Mia was pulled aside, and Eleanor was also bumped by Mia, staggering two steps forward—

The hot soup she was about to dodge, ’splash!’ poured onto her hand!

It was midsumr, Eleanor wore a casual short-sleeve, the soup splashing unimpeded onto her fair skin, turning several shades of red instantly.

At first, she felt nothing, but two seconds later, the skin on her hand started to sting hotly.

However, Eleanor seed unfazed by the pain, she calmly looked at the person a ter away—

Adrian Grant had arrived just in ti, shielding Mia in his arms.

Her heart, otherwise healthy and unwounded, felt stifled now, aching densely, as if a large hand squeezed hard, making it difficult to breathe.

"What are you doing standing there? Get so ice! Do you need to teach you?!" Adrian Grant glared at Eleanor’s arm, eyes tinged red, almost yelling at the nearby waiter.

His whole body was tense, as if he himself had been burned.

It’s common knowledge to use ice cubes for burns.

The next second, Adrian Grant snapped back to reality, releasing Mia, and reaching for Eleanor, "I’ll take you to run it under cold water—"

"Get away! Don’t touch !"

Eleanor reacted violently, stepping back as if avoiding a plague.

The coldness in her eyes was undisguised rejection, making her delicate face intimidating when it darkened.

Adrian Grant’s hand froze in midair, and the next second, he stepped forward again good-naturedly, "Eleanor, don’t be difficult."

The burn needed imdiate treatnt.

"Ha?" Eleanor laughed angrily, "I’m being difficult? Adrian Grant, what are you pretending? If you hadn’t suddenly shown up, I would’ve been out of here by now!"

"Eleanor!"

"Don’t call my na!"

"Eleanor, you an I should’ve been the one splashed? Why are you acting like this?" Mia feigned anguish, her eyes welling with tears, completely aggrieved, "Even if you’re mad at for the argunt just now, you can’t deliberately bump into the waiter, trying to splash hot soup on ! You know how fragile my hand is after you injured it so severely!"

This reversing of right and wrong, this muddling of black and white left Eleanor in awe.

"Eleanor!" Sean didn’t expect that after calming down in the restroom for a mont, he’d walk out to witness such a scene.

He quickly approached, "How did you get burned? Rinse it with cold water—"

As he was speaking, the waitstaff brought ice cubes.

Sean carefully held Eleanor’s wrist, applying the ice while saying, "I’ll take you to the hospital!"

As soon as he spoke, Sean suddenly rembered sothing, awkwardly glancing over at Adrian Grant.

He had been so concerned about Eleanor that he completely forgot Adrian Grant, her legal husband, was standing right there; his attentiveness seed a bit out of line.

"Okay, I’ll trouble you, senior." To his surprise, Eleanor agreed the next second.

"Eleanor!"

Adrian Grant’s voice turned cold abruptly.
