Adrian Grant, with his good constitution, was successfully discharged after two more days in the hospital.

"Where’s Eleanor?" Adrian glanced around but didn’t see Eleanor’s figure.

Charles Rhodes replied, "It’s Monday, madam has returned to the law firm for her internship."

Adrian pursed his lips, clearly displeased.

"Hmph, the woman you risked your life to save doesn’t value you at all!" Old Master Grant mocked coldly.

Old Madam Grant smacked Old Master Grant and gave him a glare, signaling him to shut up. In her heart, she couldn’t help but sigh.

Originally, she thought she could see Eleanor and Adrian reconcile today, loving and affectionate, but unexpectedly, her granddaughter-in-law didn’t even show up!

After all, it’s the grandson’s past actions that hurt her heart. As long as the granddaughter-in-law doesn’t divorce, everything can be discussed!

"Adrian, you just recovered from a serious illness. Why don’t you co back to the old house to recuperate? Seeing you every day would put my heart at ease," Old Madam Grant shifted the subject.

"No need."

The old house was full of people and gossip, which Adrian didn’t like.

Moreover, he had already prepared another place to stay.

-

Eleanor opened the door lock.

No one was in the living room, and the lights were off, but she sensed sothing unusual.

Without the panic of soone barging in like last ti, she calmly turned on the light and indeed saw a tall man lying on the sofa.

Adrian was half-leaning on the sofa, with a few docunts and a closed laptop on the coffee table.

He had probably been working earlier and was now taking a short rest.

Almost two seconds after Eleanor turned on the light, the man opened his eyes.

"Why are you here again?" Eleanor frowned.

Adrian didn’t react to this, as if he hadn’t heard, and asked, "Did you resign from the law firm?"

Today, Eleanor went to work mainly to resign. Originally planning to leave after discovering the partner intended to use her to get close to Adrian, her injury delayed it for a month.

Eleanor humd in response, not asking him how he knew.

How would he know?

The partner must have turned around and told Adrian, the big investor!

"Is it because of ?" Adrian asked bluntly from the sofa.

His wound on his left leg wasn’t fully healed, and it was stretched out in a relaxed state, making him appear more lazy and unruly.

"Adrian Grant, I don’t want anyone else interfering in my work." Eleanor sat on a single-seater sofa.

"I’m your husband, Eleanor."

Not soone else.

Eleanor lowered her gaze with a slight smile, then raised her eyes again to et his, saying, "I’m involved in a project that’s bidding next week. I’ll leave after it’s over."

She didn’t directly respond to his words.

But Adrian wasn’t planning to let it go. He grasped Eleanor’s hand, his gaze deep and determined, "I’m your husband now, and I will be in the future."

When Eleanor heard Adrian’s declaration of love, she was running a low fever, maybe unclear-headed, but she felt particularly delighted.

But how long could his affection last?

How long could the promise of ’No one loves you more than I do’ last?

Promises, after all, are easy to make.

Her mother often said she’d protect her for life, but in the end, her mother quietly left.

Eleanor sat down beside the sofa, "Adrian Grant, since you have ti now, why don’t we continue discussing the divorce?"

Her voice, though gentle and pleasing to the ear, felt like a thunder in the quiet night.

Adrian’s body stiffened, his pupils constricted sharply, and his face instantly turned cold, even his voice chilled, "Eleanor, I told you, I won’t divorce you."

Strong, unyielding, this was Adrian Grant’s true nature.

Eleanor raised her hand, the new skin beneath the healing scabs was tender and red, the wounds on her wrist fully scabbed, exposing ugly scars after removing the gauze.

"Adrian Grant, our past is like my hands. Even if wounds heal, scars and painful marks remain."

Adrian felt an intense pain in his heart. He cradled her hand again, "I’ll find the best dicine, the best dermatology team, won’t let you scar, Zia."

Eleanor looked at him calmly, showing so doubt, "You say you love ?"

The man nodded firmly, "Yes."

Eleanor asked again, "When did it start? You didn’t love when we got married. Was it in the past year? Or the past few months?"

Adrian pressed his lips, not answering.

It was long ago.

Back when she was around Jonah Grant, treating him like air.

"See, Adrian Grant, people’s feelings can change. You didn’t love before; maybe you love now, but you might not in the future."

"It’s not ’might,’ Eleanor!"

He corrected her word choice very seriously.

"Is that so?" Eleanor was indifferent, "But Adrian Grant, your promises, your ’love,’ I don’t believe."

"Then what do you want?" Adrian asked through gritted teeth, unaware of how nacing he looked, like ready to fight.

Before Eleanor could answer, he added, "Except divorce."

"I want a divorce." Eleanor ignored his addition.

Adrian was so angry he laughed, "Then what was you taking care of in the hospital these past days? Deceiving ?"

"From a public perspective, it’s a humane concern for my husband, to whom I’m still legally married. From a private one, it’s about fulfilling the responsibility and obligation to the lifesaver." Eleanor offered him two reasons, whichever he liked.

This confirmation made Adrian’s still-unhealed body feel dizzy with anger.

Seeing his pale complexion, Eleanor pursed her lips, "Adrian Grant, I can’t take good care of you, you’d better go ho to recover."

Adrian’s face stayed cold, "Then I’ll stay here. Didn’t you say I’m your lifesaver?"

Eleanor almost lost her breath due to his rogue behavior, finally leaving a ’Suit yourself’ before heading into the study.

Two hours later, Eleanor ca out, only to find the living room empty.

The sofa was bare, with Adrian’s docunts and computer still on the coffee table.

The sound of running water ca from the room.

Alard, Eleanor quickly walked over.

The bathroom door was ajar, Adrian had undressed and was about to step into the shower.

"Adrian Grant!" Eleanor was shocked, pulling him back without thinking, "What are you doing!"

"Taking a shower."

"Your leg’s bandage isn’t removed yet, what are you washing?" Eleanor pointed at the bandage on his leg.

Adrian looked listless, "I feel uncomfortable not bathing."

"Endure it!"

Eleanor rcilessly turned off the shower.

Adrian looked at Eleanor intently, "Who do you an to endure?"

Only then did Eleanor realize he was completely naked, and she could see everything clearly!

His ’endure’ definitely wasn’t as innocent as it seed!
