The hospital room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Eleanor Winslow lowered her gaze and t the eyes of the man lying on the hospital bed.

Her expression was indifferent, tinged with scrutiny and self-mockery.

The laziness on Adrian Grant’s face disappeared as he said helplessly, "Zia, if you’re foolish, then who in this world is smart?"

Adrian showed so interest, "When did you start having doubts?"

"When I was treating your wound with herbs, the more I bandaged, the clearer my mind beca, feeling like a fool."

Eleanor was originally sitting, hoping to speak to him calmly, but now she couldn’t help but stand up.

Remaining calm was practically an injustice to herself!

"Adrian Grant, why did you do this? Did you see worrying about you and find it amusing? Or were you so sure of your invincibility that you wouldn’t die there? Or perhaps you hoped that my gratitude would turn into an unyielding love for you?"

The words ’love for you’ made the man’s pupils constrict.

Adrian allowed Eleanor to vent her anger, and after a while, he said, "Zia, even with a locator, Charles Rhodes would still need ti to find ."

She worried about him, he was happy about it, but he didn’t find it amusing. Seeing her tears fall made his heart ache. He knew very well that if another man were injured because of Eleanor, she would worry too.

He was never certain about his own invincibility.

When trapped in the mountains, he never thought about himself.

He never joked about his life, because she was right by his side.

Adrian sighed, "I admit, I did have so calculations regarding you."

"Which ones?" Eleanor asked coldly, lifting her wrist, "From the mont you got injured, or giving part of the bandage?"

"I told you to leave at dawn."

Eleanor was slightly stunned, not expecting it to be about that.

"You..."

"I wanted to know whether you would abandon life, or abandon ."

The man’s eyes were especially deep, making Eleanor feel a burning gaze. She averted her eyes, her heart skipping a beat, feeling absurd and a bit panicked.

She chose him.

Now he knew that she would choose him.

Eleanor looked at Adrian Grant again and asked, "I didn’t choose life, how does Young Master Grant feel about that? Are you satisfied?"

Adrian didn’t expect Eleanor to ask that, and said, "Grateful for Madam’s unwavering kindness."

Madam, unwavering.

A double entendre!

He ant that, thankful for her unwavering, he would never agree to a divorce!

Eleanor’s hand at her side unconsciously clenched, "If I chose to leave, would today’s outco be different?"

Hearing this ’if’, Adrian’s face turned a bit darker.

Did she regret her choice?

"No." Adrian’s answer was very firm.

Even if Eleanor had left by herself at dawn, he wouldn’t have agreed to a divorce.

Eleanor and he were not on the sa page, saying, "If I left alone, without a locator, I might have gotten lost halfway and encountered so accident. If I abandoned you, I would also be giving up the chance to be rescued first, wouldn’t I?"

Adrian chuckled lightly, "The locator was in the Swiss Army knife."

If she abandoned him, she would also be abandoning the first opportunity for rescue.

The choice was in her hands from the beginning!

Eleanor looked at him incredulously, her mouth opening and closing but saying nothing.

He actually gave her the locator?

He...

"What else do you want to know?" Adrian asked proactively.

Eleanor pressed her lips.

Ask him directly, do you have feelings for ?

But what if the answer is no?

Wouldn’t that be humiliating herself?

Over the past three years, she had had enough of disappointnt and self-humiliation!

"Blake said, you had soone watch Mia Winslow, why?" Eleanor changed the subject.

Adrian felt rather helpless, "Eleanor, I told you, I have no romantic feelings for her."

Eleanor hadn’t thought in that direction, but since Adrian ntioned it, her mind shifted. "Is that so? Then that’s for the best."

After all, she was going to completely fall out with Mia Winslow next!

"I heard from Blake that the sports car Mia asked to fix was found with faulty brakes. If I had gotten in that car back then, I might have already died in a car accident. However, that car belongs to Jude, so if I had an accident, she wouldn’t be linked to it."

This was the brilliance of Mia Winslow’s tactics!

However, since this involved Jude Winslow, the apple of Eugene Winslow and Yvonne Vance’s eye, Mia Winslow had dug herself a huge pit!

"Don’t worry, I won’t stop you." Yet Adrian was a bit surprised, "Do you really believe Jude Winslow didn’t harm you?"

Eleanor spoke the truth, "He doesn’t have the ans or the brains to harm others."

Adrian: "..."

"Take care of yourself." Eleanor sent a text ssage to Blake Lockwood, planning to discharge herself from the hospital.

Adrian almost instantly sat up, "What are you doing?"

"Going ho." Eleanor opened the hospital room door and smiled slightly back at him on the bed, "I just have a wound infection and fever, I can leave now. But Young Master Grant, you’re not like , you’ve been shot, there’s internal bleeding, and you still have the energy to plot against , you should definitely stay in the hospital for a few more days, and make sure to check if there’s anything wrong with your brain too."

The servants waiting outside the door heard this: "..."

"Eleanor!" Seeing that Eleanor was really leaving, Adrian hurriedly called out.

Instinctively wanting to chase after her, but with his injured left leg still not flexible, he was instead held down by the servants who were desperately pleading with him to stay put.

Eleanor seed not to have heard his voice and left directly.

The elevator doors opened.

Charles Rhodes stepped out, eting Eleanor’s eyes, and imdiately bead, "Madam, where are you headed?"

Eleanor did not answer him, asking, "Where is Mia Winslow?"

"She’s been at the hospital where Young Master Winslow is."

The implication was, ostensibly caring for Jude Winslow, but actually being controlled in the hospital.

Eleanor nodded and asked, "How do you plan to handle Vincent Preston’s matter?"

"You—guys?" Charles was baffled.

Wasn’t it ’us’?

"I am , he is him." Eleanor realized she wouldn’t get more useful information from Charles and stopped him from wasting her ti, "Adrian Grant is in the hospital room, please inform Special Assistant Rhodes—"

Charles: "...?!"

No, you both just went through life and death together, are you not reconciled yet?

No, what did President Grant do to anger Madam again?

Charles was very confused.

Upon reaching the hospital room, he saw the boss lying on the bed with a stony face, the servant beside him painstakingly advising him not to be discharged.

"President Grant, I just ran into Madam." Charles lied boldly, "Madam asked you to take good care of your injuries."

Adrian didn’t believe it at all and asked, "What were her exact words?"

Charles hesitated for a mont, then bracing himself and closing his eyes, said:

"She hopes you’ll be a good patient, lest you end up with lasting injuries or a la leg that would make finding a second wife difficult in the future."
