Chapter 234: Chapter 143: Are Cultivators Such a Big Deal?
This was how he had transford, step by step, from a naless Junior Cultivator into the man he was today.
At this thought, the smile on his face widened.
He nodded, but his tone turned a few degrees colder. "Of course," he said lightly. "Could it be that you don’t trust my promise?"
The young man quickly bowed his head, his voice filled with terror and reverence. "Immortal Master, spare ! This humble one is willing to follow you to the Immortal Realm! No... as long as you’re willing to take
to the Immortal Realm, I will do anything for you!"
The Cultivator was very pleased with this answer. "Enough with the pleasantries. If you want to prove yourself, tell
everything that has happened in the many years since I left..."
He paused, feeling his question was a bit too broad. He then added, "Focus on where those Martial Artists ca from, and tell
who orchestrated everything from behind the scenes..."
The young man nodded and opened his mouth, as if to speak.
But at that very mont...
The Cultivator suddenly realized the young man who had been leading the way just a mont ago had vanished.
Snapping back to his senses, the Cultivator looked down and discovered a gaping hole had appeared in his abdon at so unknown point.
’There’s sothing wrong with this young man!?’
’But how could he be so fast?’
’Is the Extraordinary Power of this world—are these Martial Artists—the sa ones he knew?’
Alarm bells scread in the Cultivator’s mind. In that critical mont, he drew his Ten Thousand Souls Banner, attempting to transform the entire residence into a Ghostly Realm.
But the young man seed completely unaffected by the Ghostly Realm.
"SHINK! SHINK! SHINK!"
Three more sounds rang out in quick succession.
Almost simultaneously, three new wounds appeared on the Cultivator’s body.
None of the wounds were deep.
Nor were they fatal.
The Cultivator was wearing an Inner Armor Treasure capable of blocking powerful Techniques. While its defense against lee weapons wasn’t as strong, it still offered so protection.
But even with the Magical Treasure’s defenses fully activated, the young man’s attacks still wounded him. Droplets of blood seeped from the cuts, staining his robes red.
The sudden assault completely jolted the Cultivator to his senses.
He knew he had most likely walked into an ambush.
His opponent had not only sensed his arrival but had even predicted where he might return and set up an ambush in advance!
Upon this realization, the Cultivator was both shocked and enraged.
The Spiritual Power in his body erupted as if it were free. He took a step forward, his long-sleeved, powerful hand snatching one of the young man’s arms. He roared, "How dare you?! How dare you?! I will rip out your soul and refine it in the Ten Thousand Souls Banner for ten thousand years! I will make you wish you were dead!"
At this mont, the Cultivator had lost all of his previous ethereal, immortal-like bearing. His face was now a savage mask, so terrifying that a single glance would make one’s heart pound with fear.
The young man, whose face had been a picture of fawning sycophancy monts before, had also changed his expression. It was now as cold as ice. Hearing the threat, he grinned. "And why wouldn’t I dare? Just because you’re a Cultivator? Are Cultivators so impressive? I’ve waited all these years just for the chance to kill a Cultivator!"
Are Cultivators so impressive?
Cultivators were, in fact, very impressive!
In most Cultivation Systems, Cultivators were absolutely considered a superior class of being.
This was because Cultivation not only extended one’s lifespan but also possessed a terrifyingly high potential. Few paths offered a more promising future.
But Li Chang’an was no native of this world; he was a Reincarnator. He was only curious about Cultivators, feeling neither great respect nor fear for them.
After all, no matter how unreasonable a Cultivator might be, could they possibly be more unreasonable than a Reincarnator?
Seeing that Li Chang’an was not only unafraid but even had the gall to provoke him in return, the Cultivator tightened his grip on Li Chang’an’s arm and roared, "Fire Dragon Fla Skill! Die, you mongrel from the Lower Realm!"
A great gout of fla erupted from the Cultivator’s mouth.
The heat was so intense that even the air around the flas began to warp.
However, Li Chang’an rely scoffed at the sight.
He didn’t even try to dodge.
The only reason the Cultivator had managed to grab him was not because he couldn’t break free, but because he knew Cultivators were far more skilled with Techniques than in close-quarters combat with Martial Artists. He had deliberately allowed the Cultivator to seize his arm.
In other words, it was an opening Li Chang’an had intentionally created.
Now, seeing the Cultivator’s Technique fully cast, Li Chang’an suddenly exerted his strength. The terrifying power of a Martial Artist erupted, and he yanked the Cultivator—who was still gripping his arm—in front of him.
"WHOOSH!"
"SIZZLE..."
After leaving the Cultivator’s mouth, the fla transford into a Fire Dragon that danced in mid-air before swooping down toward Li Chang’an.
But at that exact mont, Li Chang’an forcefully dragged the Cultivator in front of him, using him as a human shield to block the Fire Magic attack.
The Cultivator never expected Li Chang’an to be so strong, much less that his tactics would be so crude and shaless. Shocked, he lost control of the Fire Dragon, which slamd directly into him, scorching his body until green smoke rose from it.
Fortunately, while the Magical Treasure he wore wasn’t particularly strong against lee weapons, its resistance to this type of magical Technique was excellent.
It was the only thing that saved him from being roasted alive in that exchange.
The Cultivator used another Technique to break free of Li Chang’an’s grasp, landing several dozen ters away in a few quick bounds.
He took a healing Elixir from his Storage Bag and swallowed it.
Only then did he look up again at Li Chang’an, his eyes filled with deep apprehension.
From their brief exchange, the Cultivator had already ford a rough estimate of Li Chang’an’s strength.
His opponent was not only incredibly powerful physically, but his fighting style was also savage and wild. He would constantly use his absurd physical prowess to force the fight into close quarters.
He fought like a common street brawler, with no regard for form or technique.
