Chapter 47: Chapter 47 Second Mission (2)

After giving the order, Squad Leader Lu went to find other squad leaders to observe together, guessing that a change in position might reveal what they needed to see.

As the news spread, people climbed onto the rooftops to observe.

In fact, the entire convoy was quite concerned about Ye Nai’s warning. The supplies they were transporting were all in her Space, and the priority for the team was to ensure her safety to successfully deliver the supplies.

After the team had spread out in all directions and observed tensely for several minutes, soone finally exclaid.

“I see them! They’re vine-like mutant plants, slowly moving along the ground.”

With clear directions provided, more people joined in the observation, and indeed they saw more clearly.

...

“Truly, there are quite a few, I counted more than ten in this direction, moving very slowly as if trying to catch us off guard.”

“They’re still moving this slowly even after we’ve spotted them, could it be that these mutant plants are naturally slow?”

“Don’t know, but now is a good opportunity, do we fight or flee?”

Without any hesitation, the captain ordered the convoy to set off imdiately.

“Do you need my help packing the tents?”

Ye Nai volunteered proactively. By the ti she spoke, she had already gathered her tent and Squad Leader Lu’s large tent into her Space, without any movent of packing or folding, just directly storing them.

“Pack them all! Leave it to you!”

No one would refuse such efficiency. Everyone packed their guns and ammunition on their backs, left other personal belongings in the tents, which Ye Nai collected, and then climbed onto her designated vehicle.

The convoy zood off, driving at full speed for half an hour before stopping to set up camp again to rest.

Ye Nai released the tents just as they had been, ensuring those who needed to rest could do so, and those who had to keep watch could proceed.

Squad Leader Lu and others gathered around Ye Nai, full of praise.

“Nice job, girl, besides Space does your superpower include a wide range of spiritual power too? You could even be a scout.”

“I don’t know, I’ve never really tested for spiritual power, maybe it’s just being overly cautious?”

Ye Nai knew she definitely didn’t have the ability to scout with spiritual power; it was all thanks to the Fungus, so she was just making conversational remarks.

“Haha, you should test it out soti. If you could develop in that direction, it would be much better than just being a portable warehouse.”

“Alright, we’ll talk about it later.”

With this ordeal over, there were no further disturbances from mutant plants and mutant beasts, and they managed to spend the night peacefully.

As dawn began to break, everyone got up, washed up, and after a quick breakfast, they hurriedly set off.

This ti Ye Nai found a vent in the vehicle. She followed the vent to sprinkle spores outside, scattering them as they drove along.

After lunch when they set off again, the convoy left the highway and raced through the wilderness, causing the vehicle to jolt violently.

The people inside the vehicle were also shaken from side to side, and sitting steadily was a skill in itself.

Ye Nai, following the movents of the vehicle, swayed her body to maintain balance and casually pulled a bag of candied sour plums from her Space, throwing two into her mouth while also stocking her pockets with vomit bags.

The energy inside her was quickly circulating, alleviating her discomfort.

The bumpy ride continued until the evening, when the convoy stopped to rest and eat, then departed again, driving until after 10 PM before reaching a frontline camp.

The overall terrain of the wilderness was a vast plain without undulating mountains or hillsides, only wild grass as tall as a person, so this camp was a semi-underground fortress dug out from the ground, camouflaged on the surface and shielded by the wild grass, making it hard to see even during the day, let alone at night.

Ye Nai hopped around on the spot, trying to ease her numb buttocks.

There was a sll of blood in the air, they had just finished a fight here before their arrival.

Ye Nai was delighted and imdiately threw out a spore.

Even if the battlefield had been cleaned up and the bodies handled, the abundant blood on the ground was still good food for the Fungus.

“Xiao Yezi, co, unload the goods.”

“Coming.”

Squad Leader Lu called Ye Nai and took her along with the logistics team mbers to hand over to the camp’s logistics.

The pile of things in her Space was not all ant for this one camp; actually, it was divided into three parts, and she still had to visit two other places.

In the middle of the night, Ye Nai was awakened by a surge of energy from her dream.

She lay still and rely ordered the Fungus to gather the prey into the Space.

Consequently, it rained prey in the Space like a downpour.

They were mammals of a tribe, with over twenty individuals both big and small.

Their thick fur adapted to the cold, resembling wolves and also large canids, like the ferociously bred dogs strictly prohibited in the cities, perhaps even larger.

With prominent canine teeth and lingering bloodstains on so of their facial fur, it was unknown where they had fed before, yet they still had designs on this camp.

Looking at their fur, Ye Nai suddenly had a peculiar idea, instructing the Fungus to keep the fur intact, decompose the rest, and if there were any Heart Cores, to keep them for her inspection.

She even designated an empty small storage box on the shelf for the Heart Cores.

Knowing they were carnivorous, Ye Nai lost interest in their at; besides, she was not short of Mutant Beast at to eat. She had eaten only two pieces from the several piles she acquired last ti; she could only eat so much with one mouth and one stomach, fearing she might get sick of it before she even ran out, contemplating whether to sell so or simply let the Fungus decompose it.

The Fungus killed these lung-breathing animals by blocking their trachea, so decomposition also started internally. Soon after Ye Nai fell asleep again, three Heart Cores, ranging from the size of rice grains to soybeans and pale yellow in color, quietly appeared in the designated storage box.

The entire tribe of over twenty was completely decomposed, yielding only these three cores and leaving over twenty intact furs without a single bullet hole or knife cut.

Ye Nai was awakened by the morning noises of the camp, hurriedly finished grooming, ate breakfast, and set off in a vehicle.

Only when the vehicle started did she settle down to check her Space.

She was imdiately captivated by the pile of pristine furs.

Then she glanced at the Heart Cores in the storage box, and after thinking it over, she decided to keep them, not feeding them to the Fungus.

She saved them, to see if there would be bigger ones later.

Heart Cores are valuable, their different colors corresponding to the Awakener’s powers, useful for replenishing depleted superpowers.

The three this ti had a very faint yellow color, like a drop of yellow paint in a large cup of water. Soone sensitive to color might see the water as slightly yellow, while the less discerning might think it was colorless and clear.

Colorless cores are especially suitable for Pure Auxiliary System Awakeners, primarily replenishing spiritual power. It goes without saying for Spiritual Power Users, and Space Users who frequently take out items within a short period also consu spiritual power.

A Healing System is also said to exist, which is even more precious, but how much more Ye Nai did not know. The information available online claid it was an extrely rare confidential talent.

Heart Cores are hard to obtain, so the mainstream supplents are still potions made from plant and animal resources collected in the Secret Realm.

But these raw materials are also hard to co by. Artificial cultivation is a challenge, obtaining them from the wild is a challenge, and so is researching formulas, raw material processing techniques, and production of finished products, which combined make the final price quite high.
