"Ms. Ye Nai." The staff mber imdiately returned beneath the canopy and nodded slightly in that direction, "Are there people over there?"
"Yes, there are."
Ye Nai candidly admitted it, thinking it would be better to hand over all the captives; she didn’t want to be responsible for their living expenses anymore.
"Are there many people?" the staff mber continued to ask.
"Not many, just a few families of forr nobles, the first batch we captured," Ye Nai replied.
"Didn’t you put the nobles together? Did you place them in several locations?" The staff mber frowned, puzzled by Ye Nai’s tactics.
"No, the ones you saw last ti were captured later on. They can’t find familiar faces and band together to cause trouble for ," Ye Nai explained.
"Band together? There are really familiar faces?" The staff mber’s eyes were imdiately full of curiosity.
"Yes, among the thousands of people you saw last ti were the forr King and Queen, the forr Crown Prince and Crown Prince Consort." Ye Nai’s tone was calm, with no intention of boasting.
"Ah?!" The staff mber was stunned, "You destroyed a nation?"
"No, no, don’t talk nonsense."
"What do you an destroyed a nation?" Deputy Chief of Staff Fan Zeyang popped his head over, his face full of confusion, "I heard ’destroyed a nation,’ is it the destruction of a nation as I understand it?"
"The nation wasn’t destroyed, Vice Minister Fan, don’t spread rumors. It’s just that the royal family and a few key nobles beca captives," Ye Nai quickly defended herself.
"What do you an by key nobles?" Vice Minister Fan had a knack for focusing on key points and imdiately followed up.
"It’s literal. According to the treaty they negotiated among themselves, after the royal family loses its heirs, those key nobles take over," Ye Nai patiently explained.
"So you captured them all in one go?" Vice Minister Fan was taken aback, continuing to question with his voice inadvertently raised a bit.
"Yes," Ye Nai nodded, her tone matter-of-fact.
"Who’s in charge of the country now?" Vice Minister Fan continued to inquire.
"No idea, other nobles will probably erge," Ye Nai shrugged, her face indifferent.
Deputy Chief of Staff Fan Zeyang exhibited a thoroughly speechless expression.
"How was that nation’s original strength?" Vice Minister Fan switched topics.
"Very strong, those five Military Fortresses outside True Dragon Gully belonged to them," Ye Nai casually threw out a clue to let them know which country she had toppled.
"...Ah?!" Vice Minister Fan and his staff mber were collectively too shocked to speak.
"Uh-huh, that’s also the nation where the student team from the National Defense University was saved. Following their route back, the exit is south outside the border, but I don’t know which section; you should ask the National Defense University." Ye Nai added.
"Was that nation really destroyed?"
Deputy Ministers from the Staff Departnt and Logistics Departnt returned for so soy milk, happening to overhear this part and imdiately curiously interjected.
"The nation wasn’t destroyed, I just captured their ruling powers; the nation itself still exists." Ye Nai reiterated.
"Where were their King and Queen captured?" Deputy Minister Su from the Staff Departnt curiously inquired.
"Southern Hemisphere of Blue Star."
"Hold on, last ti we visited Otherworld, which country was that military camp from where we stayed?" Vice Minister Fan popped into the conversation with a question.
"It was this one."
"My goodness..." Everyone exhibited expressions of shock.
"Do you know what that country’s na is?" Soone curiously asked.
"Selsa, Selsa United Kingdom, that’s why there are those key nobles. Like original shareholders, the entire country ford from these few Great Nobles rging their territories." Ye Nai slowly explained.
"Got it, got it." Everyone nodded.
"So that country was indeed broken." Soone else comnted.
"No, no, I didn’t touch the remaining nobles." Ye Nai hurriedly waved her hand.
"Do you still want to?" The person raised an eyebrow slightly.
"No, can’t be bothered. Just feeding these people now costs tons of food, you know?"
Everyone chuckled lightly; nobody pursued this topic further.
"Show us around, roughly count the number of current captives so we can plan resources for the POW camp when we return." The logistics departnt’s staff mber suggested.
"Oh, about ten thousand, less than twenty thousand?" Ye Nai shook her head, "I haven’t counted."
"There are that many? Did you capture enemy troops?" The staff mber was surprised.
"Captured so officers, let the soldiers go. The number needed for the mission is already filled, don’t want to bother killing extras." Ye Nai’s tone was calm.
"That’s good, that’s good, don’t carry a heavy killing intent." Everyone expressed agreent.
"After the war, how do you think we should arrange the Awakener considering our large numbers?" Soone raised a new question.
"Whatever, if they want to stay in Blue Star for post-war rebuilding, then earn an honest salary. If not, send them to Otherworld to enjoy the thrill of combat; sooner end, sooner reincarnation." Ye Nai shrugged, her tone light.
"We’ll have to take over Otherworld eventually. What if those with a heavy killing intent cause trouble over there?" The person deeply frowned, worriedly asked.
"That depends on the individual. If it’s illegal activities, arrest them as needed. But if they simply enjoy adventure and thrill-seeking that’s their business." Ye Nai nonchalantly replied.
"Can Otherworld’s natural environnt withstand our Awakeners’ thrill-seeking?" The person continued questioning.
"Of course, with the fusion of two planets, everything’s normal on Blue Star, but it’s not peaceful over there. It’s the real danger zone, with frequent extre weather, ecosystem collapse, increased geological disasters, land cracking even in places without volcanoes, flat land flowing with magma. These lands have been abandoned by the Otherworldly, and our Awakeners seeking thrills are suggested to go there." Ye Nai recomnded in detail.
The description of this dangerous zone indeed sounds terrifying.
Everyone fell silent for a while, then Deputy Minister Su from the Staff Departnt continued.
"Is there a transition zone between these hazardous areas and normal environnts?"
"Yes, but it’s unstable. In the danger zone, extre weather is frequent, the transition zone is certainly affected, just that the intensity and frequency are reduced, the harm is less severe, and people can barely survive. Barely surviving is the key; the most common issues are larger temperature differences, scorching heat during the day, freezing cold at night, the seasonal differences are completely blurred."
"Are there still people living in such places?" Deputy Minister Su continued to ask.
"So do, so don’t. So are migrating refugees, finding a land where they can barely survive day by day, anyway without taxation, and so transition zones belong to noble estates, and nobles might tax them," Ye Nai responded.
"Can nobles still collect taxes in such a harsh environnt?" Many people expressed surprise.
"Yes, land is wealth. Until it becos land of no return, it remains noble property. Even if soone digs out a blade of grass there, they have to pay half the tax to nobles; the noble tax officers can squeeze two taels of oil out of a stone." Ye Nai expressed nonchalance.
