Chapter 314: Chapter 314: Breaking into the Military Fortress in the Middle of the Night

“You are taller than . Which lady would travel with a servant both shorter and thinner than herself? Can such a servant do any work?”

“It doesn’t matter. You are the Great Witch specializing in space, and I bring a servant with space abilities, even if she is short and small, it won’t arouse suspicion. This is quite common; nobles are fond of nurturing the gifted ones found in their domains for their children, and at least half of my classmates at the academy have such servants.”

“That might just work, but if the soldiers ask why you just got ho and now need to use the transmission platform again, how will you respond?”

“That’s even simpler. I’ll say I left sothing at the academy and can’t even do my holiday howork without it. At Yastai Military Fortress, with people coming and going, as long as the soldiers are not detaining for questioning and only making small talk, they won’t care whether what I say is true or false.”

“Good, your suggestion has convinced . Tomorrow’s trip is in your hands.”

“Thank you for your trust, Great Witch.” Oona curtsied excitedly.

Baroness’ biological daughter, Nina, hurried to stand up.

“Respected Great Witch, please forgive my haste.”

“You may speak.”

“The soldiers at Yastai Military Fortress are used to seeing nobles co and go and are familiar with their attire. Our clothes are not suitable for the journey tomorrow.”

Ye Nai pretended to be troubled and furrowed her brows.

“That’s unfortunate. I didn’t bring your clothes, so it seems there is a flaw in the suggestion. Tomorrow we might just have to force our way through.”

“We… don’t have any clothes?”

Upon hearing they had no clothes, Nina suddenly felt as if she was running naked, wrapped her arms around her shoulders, and plopped down to sit.

Oona also wore a disbelieving expression on her face.

“You didn’t bring our clothes?”

Ye Nai looked at her strangely.

“You are captives, captives who must work to earn their keep, why would I bring your nice clothes? They’ve all been given to servants as unemploynt compensation.”

As soon as Ye Nai finished speaking, the place burst into crying, regardless of n and won, all mourning over their beautiful clothes.

Ye Nai found their crying inexplicable.

Just because they lost their beautiful clothes; what’s there to cry about? They are captives after all; why so finicky.

Their crying naturally rendered Oona’s suggestion completely void.

But it also gave Ye Nai an inspiration; next ti she captured a noble’s family, she should keep a few decent clothes to maintain appearances.

Not wanting to listen to their crying, Ye Nai left them to find a place to rest on their own.

She didn’t care at all if they would attempt to escape in the night. In fact, it would be great if they dared; she could catch them and make an example out of them.

At the dining table, the two families didn’t say much else, quietly shared the food on the table, went down from the city walls, and found places to rest.

Every dormitory door they casually pushed open was empty. It was clear that the beds had been slept in, but there was no one on the beds at that mont.

The whole fortress was also very quiet. Apart from themselves, there was not a single strange man.

The sensation was sowhat eerie, but thinking about how the Great Witch was gifted in space, there was really nothing strange about it.

At this level of a Great Witch, they each have their unique skills; wanting to kill a few people really could make them die silently without anyone noticing.

Eventually, the two families chose the officers’ dormitory, where the rooms were suites convenient for the person and his servant to reside together. They simply re-made the beds and managed to sleep thus.

By that ti, Ye Nai had already been in the Military Fortress’s other open area, took out the Courtyard House, and after a satisfying bath, went to sleep.

Four hours later, Ye Nai was awakened by the alarm clock, got up, washed up, and had breakfast.

While brushing her teeth, the spore counted for her, found that all the nobles’ family mbers who were scattered and sleeping in the dormitories were present, not a single one missing, so she directly transported them into the Space, letting them sleep soundly there.

After brushing her teeth, she took out breakfast, and at the sa ti, had the spore transport away all ten Transmission Platforms in the fortress. She only devoured the one leading to Yastai Military Fortress and kept the others for the ti being, not in a rush.

Before she had finished a hot bowl of snail noodle soup, the Space Fungus had already devoured that Transmission Platform.

Ye Nai didn’t delay further, quickly got ready, opened the Transmission Port, and stepped through.

Who said she was going to brazenly break into Yastai Military Fortress during the day?

Since there were fewer people at midnight, she would go then.

The fortress was heavily guarded, not afraid of people breaking in or out at night, and she was not afraid either.

Stepping through the Transmission Port, Ye Nai found herself standing on a Transmission Platform, with the faint glow of the Transmission Witch Patterns beneath her feet.

She quickly jumped down and looked around, finding herself in a small courtyard just like in Marabene Military Fortress, with the dim light of bonfires and torches beyond the walls.

There were no soldiers guarding the Transmission Platform.

Ye Nai grinned.

Huge amounts of spores shot out, so landed and imdiately took root, forming fungus mats, and more spores were sprayed into the air, carried by the wind to other locations where they took root and ford additional fungus mats.

So went to find the soldiers’ dormitories, taking all the people and their personal belongings into the Space.

Since everyone lived so compactly, even the cooks slept in the soldiers’ dormitories, the process of gathering everyone was very fast.

Ye Nai carried out Space Teleportation to the city walls, and while questioning the officers pulled from the Space, the spores had not yet fully occupied the entire fortress.

However, it wasn’t slow either, as the spores’ occupation mainly progressed in a manner of spot to surface.

It began a bit slow, needed to take root and grow, form Fungal Mycelium, then fungus mats, with Mycelium emitting even more spores into the air, which in turn took root, grew, and ford more Mycelium and mats.

As this cycle repeated, these fungus mats continuously expanded and interconnected, eventually covering and occupying the entire Yastai Military Fortress.

Covering such a large area of the fortress naturally took so ti.

So, Ye Nai began with questioning on the city walls, and after listening to a few minutes of tragic screaming and moaning, soone confessed the list of Transmission Platforms.

Using the sa thod as before, she took the list, stuck a printed paper with corresponding locations on each Transmission Platform, collected all of them, keeping the unrelated ones for the mont, first devouring the one leading to the Yaqiao Fortress.

By then, the spores had completed their occupation, sending her the locations of crucial facilities like the warehouse and kitchen.

Ye Nai went to collect everything, finally taking the kitchen’s inventory; seeing that the quality of the tables and chairs in the cafeteria was good, she took those too, leaving them for the captives’ use.

Next, she stood in the cafeteria, opened the Transmission Port leading to Yaqiao Fortress, and stepped through.

Upon landing, illuminated by a fire torch’s light from sowhere, she saw clearly the Transmission Platform under her feet, and in the distance, heard the sound of soldiers performing morning drills and call-outs.

Ye Nai imdiately jumped down from the Transmission Platform, spreading spores as she had done at Yastai Military Fortress, simultaneously taking away soldiers and occupying the fortress.

Half an hour later, the occupation was complete.

After extracting the necessary information, locating the Transmission Platform leading to Duke Akeley’s Lord City, she swept the fortress clean of its materials, and by then, dawn was breaking.
