Chapter 283: Chapter 283 Setting Off to True Dragon Gully (5)

After tidying up, she gathered everything and stored it all in the Space at once.

Teams busily working around the campsite watched wide-eyed as a large canopy covering eight hundred square ters suddenly disappeared, leaving only a person dressed in full storm gear standing in the original spot.

“Wow, that’s really enviable.”

Soone muttered, and those who heard it deeply agreed.

“Everyone, I’m taking off first. See you again if it’s ant to be.”

“Alright, have a safe journey.”

They exchanged well wishes, and the next second, a military off-road vehicle appeared in front of Ye Nai.

As soon as the vehicle made its appearance, a chorus of gasps and laughter erupted.

The private task force moved the quickest, rushing over to touch the vehicle with such gentle hands, as if caressing a great treasure.

“Boss, boss, let’s team up for missions in the future, shall we?”

“That will depend on your skills.”

“Mm-hm, we’ll definitely work hard, definitely work hard.”

“Alright, I’m heading out now.”

“Boss, take care, take care.”

After the pleasantries, Ye Nai got into her vehicle and left.

This was her first ti using the off-road vehicle since getting it back, and it was very smooth to drive. The tires perford well—she had left the campsite and was soon off the paved road, driving on a compacted dirt track. Occasionally, she would hit a mud puddle, but the vehicle never slipped.

After driving more than ten kiloters, the light rain turned heavier, and the road beca more difficult to navigate, with plenty of obstructive dead branches and trunks that had fallen from the mountains. It seed as though there had been a storm overnight, and the broken branches had covered the road.

The off-road vehicle could force its way through, but after trying it lightly, Ye Nai couldn’t stand the constant jolting. Her stomach churned, threatening to bring up the large wontons she had for breakfast, and she was also worried about the branches getting tangled underneath the vehicle and causing damage.

After talking the previous night, of the five military vehicle teams and one private task force in the camp, only two military vehicle teams would be sharing a portion of the road with her. One military team would be descending the mountain, while the others continued upward.

That’s why she wanted to set out first, to create a distance between them. However, she hadn’t expected the broken road to slow her down.

Determined, she released a large number of spores that landed on the branches and logs, sweeping them all into the Space and clearing the road.

As Ye Nai drove, she collected branches and logs, planning to throw them back into the East Ridge Secret Realm, where they could be dried and used as ready-made fuel.

As she continued, the road beca pocked with potholes of varying sizes, clearly made by the pressure of heavy vehicles.

The compacted dirt road couldn’t withstand the weight of large vehicles. Although normal, the constant bumping was uncomfortable. Small holes were manageable, but the larger ones could trap the wheels, and so potholes were right in the middle of the road, necessitating careful passage for vehicles going both ways.

After another jarring bump that rattled her teeth, Ye Nai, unable to endure it any longer, pulled over, stowed the off-road vehicle, and took out an excavator.

The dirt and rubble she had collected the previous day from cleaning up the landslide was perfect for filling the holes.

This was a temporary fix and wouldn’t last long—after a few rounds of heavy vehicles passing over, the road would break again, but it would do for a few days.

Repairing potholes on a rainy day was quite troubleso, but Ye Nai deployed an electric canopy that was half a ter narrower than the road. Without the rain to interfere, she swiftly emptied the water from the holes, spread the dirt and rubble inside, tamped it down with the excavator’s bucket, then added more dirt, and pressed it down firmly until it was level with the road, before she picked up her tools and resud her journey.

Repairing the road as she proceeded, Ye Nai’s speed was hindered, but three hours later she reached a three-way junction with a huge waterhole right in the middle.

She extended the large rain canopy and drained the water to see clearly the depth of the hole—it was no problem for a car wheel. If circumvented from the edge, a small car could still pass, but it would be a bit of a struggle for a large truck model. There was no avoiding at least one wheel getting stuck.

Ye Nai expertly filled the large pit and walked into the second intersection, heading towards True Dragon Gully.

The two convoys that were to travel with Ye Nai for a while were still silently following behind.

Along the way, everyone saw the clean road devoid of debris. After habitually being jolted by potholes a few tis, there were no more large wheel-sized pits in the road; they were all filled with earth, clearly the work of engineered machinery.

Thinking of that pile of bulky items the other party had in their space, it seed bringing along so engineered machinery wasn’t out of the question either.

When they reached the three-way intersection and saw the large pit in the middle filled in as well, they easily turned into the first and third intersections.

“This is a real big shot.”

The captain’s voice ca through with a sigh from the vehicle’s radio.

Which was quickly echoed by everyone else.

“And so young, she’s definitely going to make it into the Hall of Fa.”

“A force to be reckoned with.”

“Hopefully she won’t act rashly and will live a long life.”

After Ye Nai drove into the fork and returned to the East Ridge Secret Realm with her vehicle, she took a rest, had a al, and even slept for an hour’s nap before she set out again, refreshed and eager to continue her journey.

But upon departure, the rain had intensified, and the road had completely turned into a muddy trail.

Still operating the excavator, the tracks cared little for the condition of the road. Upon encountering a pit, she’d fill it. That three-way intersection she had just passed was a landmark. Beyond that, the most it would take to reach True Dragon Gully was two days.

She drove until past six in the evening, when suddenly lightning flashed across the sky, followed by a thunderous boom, and the rain intensity surged along with a fierce windstorm.

The sound of rain drumd on the vehicle like rapid gunfire, and the water pouring down the windows ford a continuous waterfall, rendering even the fastest speed of the windshield wipers ineffective, completely obstructing the view outside the windows.

Valuing her safety, Ye Nai decisively returned to the East Ridge Secret Realm, found a place with plenty of sunshine, laid out the tree branches and trunks she had collected for fuel to dry, and then went to eat and sleep in the Courtyard House beside the farmland.

Early to bed and early to rise, at three-thirty in the morning, Ye Nai had already eaten breakfast and was ready to head out.

Thinking of the previous day’s travel, she opened the Secret Realm to peek outside first.

A glance over, and a “damn it.”

The rain had stopped; the sky was blue with white clouds. Today was definitely going to be a scorchingly hot day, but the packed dirt road from yesterday was completely gone.

It was buried with a mass of mud and trees.

Clearly, after she left, a serious landslide had occurred here.

And she didn’t know the extent of it, nor did she know the situation at her destination, True Dragon Gully.

Fortunately, she was the only one on that road yesterday. Now it was just the road surface that was damaged, not a major loss.

Ye Nai slipped on her rain boots, left the Secret Realm, and stood on the slope ford by the mudslide, continuously releasing a large number of spores to gather all the silt and debris into her Space.

Thanks to her diligent work, by six o’clock, the road surface previously covered by a heap of trash was exposed again, but the situation was grim. The edges of the roadbed had collapsed due to the powerful force of the landslide, and the road which was once twenty ters wide was now barely more than ten ters.

Ye Nai took out a bulldozer, smoothed out the still navigable road as best as she could, and also took out an action cara to wear on her body and start recording. It would be a good opportunity to see how long two fully charged batteries could last.
