The radio in the vehicle also transmitted excited voices.
"Ye Nai is here!"
This shout seed as though Ye Nai’s arrival could quickly turn the tide of battle.
And indeed, it could.
The massive tractor provided excellent cover.
Their own people moved swiftly and flexibly, using her tractor for cover, driving in and out. Once at the side of the tractor, they could potentially approach the enemy vehicle from any direction and open fire.
Ye Nai wasn’t idle either. Seated up high, she saw so wounded soldiers under a few nearby trees. She drove around slowly, using the body of the vehicle to shield the frontline, to prevent the wounded from sustaining more stray bullet injuries.
Though the soldiers were sitting behind the trees, the trunks were not wide enough to completely shield them. Ye Nai estimated she could embrace each tree individually.
With her blocking, many breathed a sigh of relief.
Ye Nai sat in the vehicle, immobile, replacing the magazine of her machine gun. The barrel rested on the window, and she fired at any enemy within range.
Her position was high, and the tractor’s steel plate was thick. At most, the enemy gunfire left a few bullet dents on the vehicle door, while her firepower suppression was real and effective.
Together with the fierce counterattack by the army, the enemy eventually fled, leaving behind two broken vehicles and several corpses.
Captain Xiao Ni’s voice ca through the radio in the vehicle.
"Clear the battlefield and secure the surroundings. Xiao Yezi, the wounded are your responsibility."
Ye Nai picked up the radio and responded, "Roger."
Putting down the radio, she learned through the spores and fungus that the enemy had indeed fled far away, with no new threats nearby. Only then did she carefully put the Cal-hump Deer back into the trailer as it was.
Of course, the fleeing enemy had only seemingly escaped. Once they moved beyond the visible distance, they were taken away by the spores, along with their vehicle.
Ye Nai shifted sideways and got out of the vehicle from the passenger’s side. As she landed, she saw many wounded, so sitting and others lying. At a glance, there were fourteen people, so familiar, so not.
"Wow, Sister Cao?"
Ye Nai recognized one familiar face and hurried over to check on her condition.
No wonder she had seen Captain Cao’s n but heard Captain Xiao Ni’s voice on the radio. It turned out two teams were on the mission together, but this ti Captain Cao was a bit unlucky, having been injured.
"I’m okay, go check on the others."
Captain Cao was wearing a bulletproof vest, with three bullet holes in it, and had been shot once in the left shoulder and once in the left thigh. She had applied a hemostatic bandage to herself, and the bleeding had stopped. She looked okay.
"Alright, just hang in there for a bit longer while I get the bullets out."
"What? You can remove bullets as a Beginner First Aider?"
"Wow, Sister Cao, do you know that an Interdiate First Aider needs to be able to perform chest, abdominal, and amputation surgeries on the battlefield?"
"Wow, I really didn’t know that. Does that an a senior would need to know how to perform brain surgery?"
"Seems like it, basically covering all types of surgeries."
"Well, I hope one day you beco a Senior First Aider, but let’s avoid major surgeries; performing major surgeries under harsh conditions... I don’t know whose life that would cost."
Captain Cao sincerely hoped Ye Nai would achieve such skill, but couldn’t help mocking the idea.
Just thinking about it was frightening enough, not to ntion whether the surgery could be successfully perford, any minor infection could be lethal for both the patient and the dical staff.
While speaking, Ye Nai’s spores had already entered the bodies of the injured and others present, giving her complete control over their physical conditions.
The situation this ti was quite good, the injured’s vital signs were very stable, not as tragic as last year when eight people were sacrificed in a sneak attack.
Although she knew their conditions, she still checked each of the fourteen people, organized the order in which their injuries needed to be treated, and one by one lifted them to a corner of the small woods in an orderly manner.
This whole transfer was done without even taking a breath.
The injuries were mainly gunshot wounds to the limbs, without superpower involvent, as they were all wearing bulletproof vests, there were signs of being shot in the chest and back but no serious injuries, though impact injuries were inevitable, several people had rib injuries that rendered them immobile, and breathing was painful.
Ye Nai was extrely careful while carrying these people, fearing that the fractured ribs might puncture their lungs.
Moreover, she spotted communicators from two squads among the injured.
They were both injured, and the radios they carried had been damaged, she imdiately thought of the military off-road vehicle that had initially fled.
"Hey, the communicators are injured, and the radios are broken, does that an we have no support?"
"No, soone drove to the frontline camp to deliver the ssage." said soone beside Ye Nai, hissing in pain as he spoke.
"Hey, right, Xiao Yezi, why did you co here? Did you hear the gunfire and co to see what was happening?" Captain Cao, who was also lying on the ground, realized this at that mont.
"No, I encountered two off-roads, one chasing the other; the one in front was a military vehicle. I stopped the latter, and the military vehicle just ran off without stopping, so then I just ca to lend a hand."
"Haha, oof—, haha, well helped."
"Don’t laugh, don’t laugh, be careful not to pull on your wound and start bleeding again."
"Ah, that must have been that car then, as long as the driver reaches the camp, support will follow soon after."
Knowing that their comrade who had gone to relay the ssage had escaped safely, the injured finally let go of the anxiety they were holding.
"Your injuries are all stable for now; don’t move around anymore, I’ll treat you right away."
Ye Nai stood up, about to fetch so items from another relatively open area of the small woods when the spores and fungus brought her new feedback.
This small grove with only a few trees, from the trees to the vines that coexisted with them, were all mutant plants of the Wood Elent, especially the fruits from the vines which had the best healing effects.
At a glance, Ye Nai imdiately understood what the fierce battle was about.
She wasn’t sure how the enemy knew about this treasure, but it was clear that the task of Captain Cao and Captain Xiao Ni must have been related to these precious plants.
Not far away on her trailer were also Cal-hump Deer.
What a find, the total value of the rare species in this small area was at least in the tens of millions.
If this news gets out now, who knows how many plunderers it might attract.
After confirming the current situation, Ye Nai didn’t delay any longer; as the injuries of those who were top priority in her list were indeed quite dangerous, Ye Nai quickly started pulling things out of Space.
First, a water tower barrel was set up, next to it a small camping table with hand soap and paper towels.
Not far from the water tower, she pulled out a stainless steel long table, which was a new purchase; it was narrower and longer than the stainless steel long table she used for kitchen work, suitable for use as a treatnt bed, easy to clean and disinfect.
Being a certified first aider, she of course had to keep dical and personal supplies separate.
However, this narrow long stainless steel table, in a different setting, looked quite like a dissection table.
At one corner of the long table, Ye Nai took out several rectangular folding tables, placing dical supplies required for surgery on them.
There was even a separate folding table with a few packs of cigarettes, two bottled waters, a big pack of homade Mutant Beast at jerky, instant noodles, a double-tube water pump connected to the barrel water, an instant water heater, an outdoor power source and more, so that the people coming to clean up the battlefield later would have cigarettes, water, and snacks.
