When Curtis received the command to start comncing the actions, his expression brightened up.
Finally!
After waiting for so long and spending so much ti investigating, they were finally being deployed to start taking over the city.
"Yes, Crown Prince." Curtis placed his right hand on his left chest and obliged the command.
"I’ll have the Ward Division deployed right now." He then stood up and was about to relay the command.
"Hold it." Leonard quickly halted his movent. "The Ward Division is only responsible for securing the periter. The Veil Division would be the one to personally make the move."
’The Veil Division?’ Curtis was secretly alard. That particular division was essentially the Shadows, mainly responsible for counter-assassination.
They weren’t a division known for killing.
Maybe if the target was only a single individual, then it would have made sense to deploy the Shadows. But the takeover process was targeted at multiple regions.
Each of those regions contained more than 30 people stationed for defense.
"Don’t underestimate them." Leonard could naturally discern Curtis’s concern about deploying the Veil Division.
Due to the nature of the Veil Division, they remained the most secretive and elusive among all the other divisions.
After all, they were responsible for preventing enemies from assassinating him.
Leonard’s mood also turned sullen when he was reminded of the Veil Division responsible.
Had he not been so arrogant and overestimated himself, then Irene’s death could have been avoided altogether.
His dismissal of Logan and the remaining Veil Division to stay put ultimately resulted in having a thorn in his heart.
Having the relevant power but refusing to use it.
Who else but him could be the biggest idiot?
"The Veil Division is responsible for counter-assassination, but that doesn’t an they aren’t great assassins themselves," Leonard comnted. He then retrieved another token and activated it by inputting so of his mana.
The token was a communication device to the Veil Division, or more specifically, Logan.
Seeing the situation, Curtis didn’t dare to advise him further.
Instead, he discerned the slight distress from Leonard’s voice when he comnted on the Veil Division.
’The Crown Prince seed to be holding onto so regrets.’
Soti later, a portal appeared in the Presidential Suite. Its appearance startled Curtis and Number 13.
They were alerted and assud a battle stance, but Leonard simply gestured for them to stand down.
Erging from the portal was none other than Logan.
"How did he bypass the formation?" Curtis murmured in disbelief. The Presidential Suite had anti-magic inlaid to prevent anyone from being able to teleport or barge inside here through so magic spells.
His question went unanswered as Logan knelt on one knee and greeted Leonard.
"Shadow Logan awaits your order."
"Have all the remaining Shadows beco active as of this mont!"
Leonard wasn’t going to conceal them anymore. He planned on having them beco fully active and no longer idling around.
"Yes, Crown Prince!" Logan readily obliged the order and sent a magic signal through the portal. The magic signal was invisible to the naked eye and unique to the Veil Division.
Those who don’t have the proper technique would never be able to see the magic signal.
"Start taking over every major point of Velastra. I want the city to be under my complete control before this outbreak is resolved." Leonard commanded and gestured for Mirelle to bring in all relevant docunts for Logan to reference.
Throughout his disguised ti, he had Mirelle record everything they had witnessed and jot down critical points.
Logan received the docuntation and browsed through them.
In less than a few minutes, Logan had finished absorbing all the knowledge.
After all, he had been investigating for a while, so only a few of the notes were unknown to him.
"I’ll have the territories taken over in less than 2 hours." Logan gave an estimated ti of completion.
"Good! You may assign a few Shadows to secure the periter and have them protect . There’s a platinum rank assassin on the loose whose aim is ." Leonard inford him of the assassination attempt.
Upon learning that the Crown Prince almost had his life forfeited, Logan plopped to the ground and banged his head.
"It’s our negligence, Crown Prince!" Logan apologized deeply and requested to be punished severely. As the Veil Division in the Crimson Guard, their very task was to safeguard Leonard.
Yet they failed in that very duty!
Not even death could pardon their grave mistake.
"Enough!" Leonard raised his voice and clasped his hands behind his back. "I spoke of the matter not to seek punishnt, but rather an order to capture the platinum rank assassin alive. I want them to suffer an excruciating amount of pain."
His eyes glinted in a cold light. He wanted to let the assassin understand what the consequences were for targeting him.
Logan nodded his head and promised to search for the assassin.
’A re platinum rank assassin dared to harm the Crown Prince. They must be tired of living.’ Logan leaked out a small residue of killing intent.
Even though Leonard didn’t seek punishnt, Logan knew it was protocol to relay the news to Spencer.
After all, Leonard’s command had essentially crippled them from surveilling his periter, which resulted in this near-death incident.
Logan needed to get permission from Spencer to overwrite Leonard’s command in the future if it threatened the Crown Prince’s safety.
"Alright, start making the move. Marquis Darius had already sensed sothing was suspicious about , and I doubt Lord Wesley would be idling either." Leonard remained unaware of Logan’s thoughts and simply urged Logan to make haste.
The berserk slaves outbreak was coming to a close, granted that the Wrathbane Extract’s effect was losing its potency after such a long ti had passed.
This information was included in the journal that he had found in the Dark Chamber.
’Once the city returned to order, it would be difficult to take over the territories.’ Leonard already had a list of people who needed to be eliminated.
