Judging from the wolf pack's current position, they were at the spot Bai Mu and the villagers had occupied two hours ago. Even assuming the wolves traveled twice as fast as them, it would take a full hour to catch up. Moreover, they would be delayed by the scattered scraps of clothing Bai Mu had left along the way as a distraction. Calculating this, Bai Mu had at least an hour and a half to prepare.

Thus, he spent ten minutes leading the villagers to the top of the ravine. His plan was simple: lure the wolf pack into the gorge, then crush them to death with rocks and a triggered landslide.

Causing a landslide was not difficult. He had Cherry Bombs on hand, and his Stamina was currently near maximum. By plucking a few bombs in advance, planting them around the cliff face, and detonating them at the perfect mont, he could easily collapse the valley.

The crucial part was how to lure the pack over. His Stamina could only support one large-scale explosion, so it was best to wipe out all the wolves in a single blast. The best bait, of course, was living humans. However, one or two people might not be enough to attract the entire pack. Having at least ten people act as bait would provide a much safer guarantee.

However, if he lured the wolves in and then detonated the Cherry Bombs, those ten people would effectively perish alongside the beasts. The situation was not so desperate that he needed to send a dozen people to their deaths. He could still use the items he had on hand to construct an escape chanism. Bai Mu took out the Book of the Witch. Its random offensive magic was still on cooldown, so he intended to use its primary synthesis function. During his ti in the training camp, he had experinted with this feature and figured out so of its underlying rules.

He had tested it using soda cans bought from the community store. Tossing three identical cans into the synthesis pool had a high probability of rging them into a single can with three tis the capacity. These resulting large cans could then be rged again in a three-to-one ratio, creating a super can three tis larger than the big one. Normal-grade items could be synthesized a maximum of two tis.

Similar normal-grade items generally yielded the sa results. Ropes would beco longer, and benches would beco wider. As for Rare-grade items, he had not tested them yet, mainly because he could not bear to waste them on experints.

Besides that, he had also thrown in a rolling pin, a kitchen knife, and so nails, successfully crafting items like axes and shovels.

During his week of rest, he had tinkered with the book so much that he figured out several fixed synthesis formulas. The Mana consud to synthesize ordinary items was essentially calculated based on their volu.

He had the villagers bring over nine deer saddles. Following the three-to-one formula, he first rged three saddles into one.

[Na: Inferior Deer Saddle]

[Type: Riding Equipnt]

[Quality: Normal]

[Description: A beast saddle made from turf and animal hides. It provides a slight amount of stability and comfort while riding.]

These were the stats of the deer saddle before synthesis. They were originally about a ter long. After he consud 15 points of Mana to rge three into one, the object grew significantly larger, transforming into a massive three-ter-long contraption.

Its na changed from "Inferior Deer Saddle" to "Large Inferior Deer Saddle," and after the synthesis, its durability had also improved sowhat. Bai Mu then spent another 30 points of Mana to synthesize two more "Large Inferior Deer Saddles." Finally, he perford one last three-to-one fusion, spending 45 points of Mana to create an "Oversized Inferior Deer Saddle" that was nine ters long.

Crafting this monstrosity cost him a total of 90 points of Mana. It was genuinely massive, roughly equivalent to pushing two double beds together. He had Adai and the other girls sit on it to test the capacity, and it held ten people with plenty of room to spare.

Next, he began tinkering with the straw ropes. There was plenty of rope in the deer's saddlebags, likely prepared for tying up prey during hunts. He used the Book of the Witch to rapidly synthesize these rough ropes, quickly improving both their length and quality.

Finally, he combined two synthesized ropes, each dozens of ters long, with the saddle to create a makeshift lifting platform. It could easily bear the weight of ten people. When Bai Mu used the Book of the Witch to rge similar items, not only did their volu increase, but their structural integrity improved as well. As the product of two consecutive syntheses, its strength far exceeded the handmade deer saddles and straw ropes of the villagers.

Following his instructions, the villagers operated the lifting platform, lowering him from the top of the valley to the very bottom. After a few practice runs, he had Adai, Nuosu, and several of the more agile-looking girls sit on it with him to experience this manual "elevator." The young girls nervously clung to the deer saddle beneath them. With their feet off the ground, being lowered from a height of several dozen ters was an entirely unprecedented experience for them.

They likely found it terrifying. Since it was powered by human hands, the platform inevitably swayed as it descended. If they fell off, they would undoubtedly be smashed to pieces.

Fortunately, there were no accidents. After all, it was a "magical creation" with guaranteed quality. With twenty people pulling the weight of ten, it was highly unlikely they would run out of strength, especially since, aside from Bai Mu, the rest of the passengers were just teenage girls under the age of eighteen.

After so rehearsal, Bai Mu selected nine suitable girls.

Now familiar with the process, Bai Mu scaled the rock wall alone to plant the Cherry Bombs.

The villagers still did not seem to understand what he was trying to do, but given everything they had experienced that day, they carried out Bai Mu's requests without a single doubt.

A while later, Bai Mu, gazing out from his high vantage point, finally spotted the wolf pack erging from the cedar forest.

He signaled the villagers below, and everyone sprang into action according to their rehearsed roles. To ensure the plan went smoothly, Bai Mu also summoned Witch, having her and Xiao Wei watch over the villagers in charge of pulling the ropes.

He took off his night-stalker cloak and draped it over Witch. Her appearance was far too brutal for these tribal people, so to avoid scaring them, Bai Mu had Witch conceal her figure.

The wolf pack quickly scrambled up the slope, tracking their scent. Bai Mu mounted Tuya and, leading the other nine girls on their deer, positioned himself right in the wolves' inevitable path. Seeing them from afar, the beasts imdiately gave chase.

Bai Mu patted Tuya's neck and pulled the reins. The deer carried him, leaping nimbly among the rocks. The herd brought them to the mouth of the valley. Sure enough, the wolf pack took the bait. Seeing the ten people, the entire pack rushed after them.

At the valley entrance, Bai Mu was the first to leap off his deer. It suddenly dawned on Adai what his plan was—she realized Bai Mu intended to lure the wolves into the ravine and finally understood the purpose of the lifting chanism.

Following a whistled command, the deer broke off and ran toward the mountain peak on their own, while Bai Mu led the girls sprinting deep into the valley.

They swiftly climbed onto the lifting platform. Up above, Xiao Wei directed the villagers to hoist them up, while Witch helped pull the very end of the rope. By the ti the wolf pack poured through the valley entrance, the group had already been hoisted to the top. The giant wolves, radiating an ominous aura, could only stand at the bottom and stare up at them.

Just as they were barking furiously at the people above the valley, a deafening boom echoed through the air as Bai Mu detonated the Cherry Bombs.

The villagers were terrified by the massive explosion. The entire mountain shook violently. They could only watch as Bai Mu stood at the edge, gazing down from his commanding height, right before a thunderous avalanche of shattered rocks and loose dirt cascaded down, completely burying the valley below.
