Chapter 522: A Ga Of Life And Death [Part 1]

Sean, Carlo, Alex, Fran, and dina unleashed their strongest attacks to break the do of darkness that was preventing them from escaping the forest.

However, no matter what they did, they weren’t able to create an opening. The black do was simply too hard, and even their strongest attacks didn’t put a dent to it.

"It’s no use," Ron said solemnly. "It seems that we need to kill the Demon Lord first in order to escape from this place."

Fran had already tended to his injury. Although he hadn’t fully recovered, he had enough strength to fight for his life.

Carlo had also recovered sowhat. The older man was standing beside Alex and watching the battle in the distance.

A red ball of fire and a golden orb of light collided against each other. No one needed to be told that this was the Demon Lord’s and the Hero’s fated battle.

All kinds of fighting ceased imdiately as everyone waited with bated breath to see who would erge victorious.

Many believed that the outco of this fight would decide the fate of the continent. That had always been the case whenever a Demon Lord and his Fated Hero or Heroes clashed in the battlefield.

As the battle continued, Alex noticed that the brilliance of the golden orb of light was starting to dim.

Of course, he wasn’t the only one that noticed this.

Ron, Carlo, dina, as well as the most powerful humans and demons that were inside the forest noticed it as well.

"Hahaha!" Vanaac’s laughter spread far and wide. "What’s wrong, Sean? Are you already tired? I’m just warming up!"

"Did you brush your teeth?" Sean replied. "My bad, I forgot that even if you brush your teeth, your breath stinks just like the fart of a skunk!"

"You should have picked sothing more worthwhile for your final words." Vannac sneered.

"Final words?" Sean laughed. "You want my final words, huh? Then these are my final words: F*ck you!"

The dimming light that surrounded Sean’s body suddenly intensified. Its radiance was almost blinding.

Like a golden cot streaking across the night sky, Sean flew towards Vanaac while roaring like a dragon.

Vanaac smirked before taking a step to the side.

He instantly teleported a hundred ters away, effortlessly evading Sean’s desperate attack.

"Fool, do you think that I don’t know that you’re already at death’s door?" Vannac taunted. "If you want to die, then die alone. I have no intention of coming with you."

Sean forcefully redirected his attack. He circled around and charged at Vanaac’s. The Hero’s chin was covered in blood, but his gaze never wavered.

Still, the Demon Lord refused to engage him in battle because he understood that Sean’s final burst of glory was sothing that he couldn’t defend against.

Since that was the case, he would simply dodge over and over again until the Hero, who was already a spent candle, finally drew his last breath.

"Coward!" Ron roared in anger. "And you call yourself a Demon Lord?! You have no balls!"

Vannac smiled faintly, amused by the insult. He was a Demon, which the humans and the other races had branded as evil.

To him, the ans justified the end. It didn’t matter what people thought of how he won as long as he did win.

A few minutes passed and the golden brilliance that surrounded Sean’s body finally dispersed completely.

Sean no longer had the strength to continue and fell from the sky.

But before his body could even hit the ground, a dark spear pierced his chest, impaling him.

"S.. Sorry," Sean said weakly as tears rolled down his face. "And... Thank you for coming to pick

up. We can... go... together."

The Hero of Humanity finally drew his last breath. Despite the tears on his face, a faint smile could be seen.

It was as if he was reuniting with his trusted friends, who had been waiting for him so that they could embark on a new adventure.

"Hahahahaha!" Vanaac’s laughter echoed across the do of darkness, making the Demons cheer and the humans despair.

It was very obvious that the Demon Race had finally won the war since the Champion of Humanity was dead.

"Well then, shall we all play a ga?" Vanaac teased. "I believe that human children like to play this ga called hide-and-seek, right? Well then, I—and my subordinates—will be it. I will count to thirty, and after that, we will start killing people.

"So, do your best to hide, okay? Let’s make this ga very fun!"

The do of darkness wasn’t an ordinary spell. In order to activate it, the Demon Lord had to use a lot of resources as well as his magical power.

However, that ant he would not be able to defeat the Hero so easily. He would also not have extra magical power to spare on strengthening the barrier. This had prompted him to add a condition to compensate.

He had added a law in the do.

As long as his enemies were still alive, the barrier would not disappear. This was his safeguard just in case the Hero was able to pull a miraculous victory against him.

Even if the Demon Lord died, the do of darkness would remain, trapping those inside forever.

It was a double-edged sword, but the Demon Lord was more than willing to take this gamble to ensure that the Demon Race would win the war.

"I’ll start to count," Vanaac announced. "One... two... three..."

The majority of the humans refused to play the Demon Lord’s ga and banded together in order to make their last stand.

The Dawnseekers were of the sa mind, so they joined the ranks of the humans that were preparing to fight to the bitter end.

None of them knew the condition for bringing down the do that trapped them.

Their only thought was to kill as many Demons as possible, including the Demon Lord, so that they would get to live another day and return to their loved ones in their respective kingdoms.
