Chapter 15 - The Fisherman [Part 2]

With the bear and the two remaining Goblin Warriors at death's door, the only threats left in the surroundings were the two Goblin Archers.

That said, Alex hadn't charged without a plan. Before erging from his hiding, he had asked Dim Dim to track the two long-rangers so he could kill them before giving the bear the finishing blow.

When the first Goblin Archer died, the second one felt sothing was wrong.

However, it was a distance away from its comrade, so it didn't notice that its companion had already died.

Alex already knew of the second Goblin Archer's hiding place and didn't hesitate to make his way to his target.

As he moved, he cranked his senses up, carefully listening to the roar and shouts of the Brown Bear and the Goblin Warriors who had decided to finish each other off.

A scream of pain escaped the Goblin Warrior's lips as the Brown Bear swiped its body with its claws before delivering a bite to the neck.

While this was happening, the remaining Goblin Warrior started hacking and stabbing the Brown Bear's body from the side, doing its best to kill it before it could shift its target.

At the sa ti, it also started to wonder why there were no more arrows hitting the bear at this ti, which could have finished it off completely.

The Brown Bear then roared a second ti before directing a backhand blow to the annoying Goblin attacking the side of its body.

This sent the pitiful monster's body flying until it slamd into a tree and coughed out blood.

The Bear then stood up on its hind legs and struck the fallen goblin with its claws, finishing it off.

After defeating its enemies, the bear staggered, losing its strength.

Blood flowed from the wounds on its body. It was only a matter of ti before it also succumbed to its injuries.

Suddenly, an arrow hit its head, making it roar in pain.

It then glanced in the direction from which the arrow had co, only to see another arrow flying toward it.

Alex had joined the Archery Club during his high-school days and was quite proficient with the bow.

Although he was not very accurate in hitting targets fifty ters away, hitting sothing within fifteen to twenty ters wasn't a problem.

< You dealt 5 Additional Damage due to hitting your enemy to the head! >

< You dealt 5 Additional Damage due to hitting your enemy to the head! >

Alex gritted his teeth as he nocked his third arrow, going for the final blow.

The Bear's health points had fallen below twenty points, so he just needed to hit it one more ti to get the kill.

Paralyzed, the Bear could only growl at the young man who suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

The mont Alex released the arrow from his bow, it pierced through the bear's mouth, dealing the final blow.

< You dealt 5 Additional Damage due to hitting your enemy to the head! >

< You dealt 10 Bonus Damage due to hitting your enemy three consecutive tis to the head! >

The bear's dying roar spread through the surroundings as its body collapsed to the ground.

The skill, Head Shot, had a passive ability of giving additional damage as long as Alex hit his target on the head.

This ant that any ranged weapon could trigger the bonus damage, making it a very valuable passive skill for Beginners.

[Level Up!]

Alex ignored the notification and nocked one more arrow to his bow before shooting the Goblin Warrior, who was lying on the ground not far from him.

It was still not dead, and Alex didn't want to take any chances of getting stabbed in the back.

[Level Up!]

When he was certain that there were no more enemies in his surroundings, the young man finally lowered his guard and sighed in relief.

After he had killed the two Goblin Archers earlier, his experience bar had nearly filled up, falling only a little short.

Fortunately, the bear was a Rank 2 Monster and gave a lot of experience points, allowing Alex to level up once, even bringing his experience bar close to a second level up.

This was why he leveled up again after killing the surviving Goblin Warrior, who was only a minute away from death.

Knowing that staying in place would be extrely dangerous, Alex niftily approached the Brown Bear and stuffed its body into his Beast Pouch.

He had spent five silver coins to rent this magical item from the Adventurer's Guild for three days.

It was ant to capture large prey that couldn't fit inside storage rings.

Hunters often carried a Beast Pouch when they hunted, as it could store ten dium-sized monsters like Forest Wolves and Forest Boars.

It could also store up to two large monsters, such as the Brown Bear.

After safely storing his prize, Alex started to cut off the right ears of the Goblins, which he would turn over to the Adventurer's Guild when he returned to the Town of Thaloria.

He still had the four goblin ears he had gotten during his tutorial quest inside his storage ring, bringing him to a total of ten.

Each goblin ear was worth two bronze coins, while Goblin Warriors and Goblin Archers were worth five bronze coins each.

As for the bear, he planned to let the Adventurer's Guild dissect it so he could sell its body parts and its at.

After looting the Goblins of their weapons, the young man made a hasty retreat to a safe place before more monsters appeared in the vicinity.

Fifteen minutes later, Dim Dim inford him that there were no longer any monsters nearby, and he heaved a sigh of relief.

'Finally, it's ti to increase my stats,' Alex thought as he opened his Status Page.

He leveled up two tis, which ant twice the stat points. He split them between Strength and Agility, which put a faint smile on his face.

'I need to add eight more points to Constitution, and I can get the Shielder Job Class,' Alex thought.

His original plan was to raise his Agility to 40 and his Strength to 20 before pooling his stat points to Constitution so he could change Job Classes.

The Shielder Job Class didn't give any massive benefits at the beginning, so he wasn't in a hurry to acquire it.

Aside from increasing the effect of Shield Skills by 20%, raising shield defense by 20%, and learning Shield Skills 30% faster, the Shielder Job Class had nothing more to offer.

Right now, Alex's priority was speed.

His play style revolved around hit-and-run tactics against his enemies and full-speed retreats when faced with stronger opponents.

Alex had chosen to beco a Glass Cannon that hit hard and moved fast, but was very frail when receiving damage.

This was where the Shielder Job Class stepped in.

By relying on the defense of shields and other shield skills, Alex could cover his weakness and increase his chances of survival.

He was only able to co up with this strategy because he aid to beco a Shield Savant, which boasted the highest defensive ability in the ga of Endless Leveling Online.

Just imagine a character that could hit hard, move fast, and tank blows from a Boss Monster.

That was Alex's ideal build, which had previously allowed him to beco the 69th strongest player in the global ELO rankings.
