A few weeks passed, and before long, Cedric was once again promoted in the arena.
He still maintained his perfect win streak, but this wasn’t so rare that he got sothing out of it.
Now, he’s participating in the Immortal League, aning that his opponents were all Immortal Level experts from all over the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm. Also, this was the pinnacle rank of what one could achieve in the Virtual Arena.
There is no more demotion or promotion at this stage. It’s just fights as much as one desires. The win ratio of participants also doesn’t matter too much aside from gambling.
Reaching this stage, Cedric slowed down. Unlike at the lower ranks that he essentially speedran, he was more inclined to pause and observe the matches here.
With the Heavenly Star’s Millennial Tournant coming up, he viewed everybody here as his potential competitor. Watching their matches was a way of gathering intelligence ahead of ti, especially because he planned on joining the upcoming tournant a few months in the future.
Moreover, Cedric still has a lot to learn. Immortal Level fights aren’t sothing that people could witness regularly. In fact, it takes a special kind of privilege for mbers of the virtual arena to watch Immortal Level matches, one that is not accessible to common folk.
Obviously, as a Scarlet VIP of the Golden Bangle Bank, Cedric already has this privilege from the start, but he limited himself to prevent spoilers. It wasn’t until he reached this level that he allowed himself to watch these high-level matches.
Now that he’s here, Cedric took his ti. He wasn’t picky either; no matter how trashy one’s win ratio was, he’d still watch it at his leisure to see if he could learn sothing useful.
And this turned out to be a good idea, because by doing this, Cedric learned a few neat tricks and lessons that elevated his overall combat efficiency by 10%.
Don’t look down on that 10%; at the Immortal Level, that is already considered as a sharp increase in his power, which he essentially got for free.
Moreover, Cedric wasn’t any ordinary Immortal Level expert either. He’s an Immortal Warrior with origin energy reserves of an Immortal Emperor. This increase could definitely bridge the gap between the real disparity between realms, and it would help him deal with his future enemies.
He watched at least 25 matches in a row, not participating in a single one at all. He wasn’t in a hurry; there’s no deadline for him nor any threat of being demoted at this level. All he had to pay attention to was to not break through to the next realm, and he could continue participating in the Virtual Arena for as long as he wanted.
Once he adjusted and grasped the differences between him and genuine Immortal Level experts of the Primitive Universe, that’s when he actually decided to queue into a match.
And just like before, the speed of matchmaking was fast and efficient. His first clash against a native was really explosive...
**
The battlefield chosen for this match was a deserted and ruined world. One that looked ravaged by an existential war and was forgotten. It was desolate, depressing, and solemn.
Cedric didn’t need to search for his opponent because he sensed him already.
It was a guy holding a giant axe, standing a mile away from him. Even from that distance, Cedric knew that the other party was looking at him too.
Cedric wore a serious expression beneath his mask; he could feel the barely concealed strength thrumming underneath his opponent’s armor.
The countdown above them was ticking fast. And yet even before ti ran out, Cedric could already feel his opponent releasing his montum through his approach.
It’s a subconscious effect, a natural phenonon that happens when one’s strength and will blend with their surrounding environnt, allowing them to borrow its strength to deal with their enemies.
From this, Cedric could tell that his opponent’s concept law attainnts have reached the Great Law Stage. This phenonon wouldn’t have been possible to recreate otherwise.
’Dominating Intent. Destruction, annihilation, slaughter, and...oh, is that heavenly punishnt? Gee, what a fella.’
Amongst the elents he sensed from his opponent, Cedric could see that it’s the Destruction Laws that reached the Great Law Stage. There’s no mistaking that mystical and confusing diagram appearing around him; Cedric himself had seen this before. It’s an illusive and very terrifying concept of law that needs to be approached with caution.
Annihilation, Slaughter, and the Heavenly Punishnt Laws of this guy were the Fundantal Level, but even so, it’s still impressive to see all of them in one person.
To top it off, there’s the dominating intent he felt.
With the Dominating Intent, this person could sneer at those who are trying to overpower him since it’ll never work on him. His montum will always overwhelm and dominate his enemies into submission.
’To be matched up with a fierce guy right at my very first queue...am I considered to be lucky or unlucky? ’
Cedric drew his sword. Unlike all of his previous matches earlier, he couldn’t afford to play around in here. This guy was coming at him with a clear intent to kill and win, and it’d be an insult for Cedric not to respond in the sa way.
As his opponent approached him while the countdown ticked, Cedric did the sa.
He released his own sword intent. Not all of it, just enough to unleash so montum as well.
The fierce-looking man inhaled sharply as he felt the prickling sensation in the air, accompanied by his opponent’s rising sword intent. Inwardly, he was surprised. He thought that this match was going to be another easy win, yet it turns out that he’s wrong.
He usually releases his montum to terrify his opponents and give them an idea of who they’re dealing with. Usually, once they sensed that he wields the power of the Great Law of Destruction, they would surrender as soon as the match began, granting him points and preventing a waste of ti.
Going into this match, he saw his opponent being a little native and tiny. He initially didn’t think much of him, but as soon as he saw the sword intent rising in response to his provocation, he instantly knew that he was in for a serious fight.
[3...2...1...fight!]
As soon as the countdown ended, he lifted his axe and swung it hard.
His attack carried a perverse montum that caused the world to darken and the sky to cave in. It’s like he wanted to hack the world in half with a single swing of his axe.
As expected, Cedric t him in the middle.
He raised his sword with his sword intent exploding greatly from within him. The unparalleled sharpness and montum of his sword clashed with the equally unyielding axe swing of his opponent, and it caused the world to groan in pain.
Even though there was a considerable distance between the two of them, they both still felt the weight and terror of each other’s attack.
The fierce man’s axe was heavy. His attack was laced with pure destruction and minor elents of annihilation, slaughter, and heavenly punishnt (lightning and thunder). Moreover, it was done with the intent to dominate, which pushed his montum even further.
However, the fierce man was more shocked than Cedric right now.
9 tis out of 10, he usually wins the first clash. He’s used to his opponents either evading or deflecting his first attack since he’s just built that way. He starts and ends the battle at the first swing; that’s how domineering he was.
There were only a few people in the sa realm as him who could receive his explosive attack head-on and without retreating. All of them could be counted on one hand and were his acquaintances.
Today, there’s one more. And this one was soone he doesn’t know.
His attack caused the ground beneath his opponent to collapse, but Cedric himself received it just fine and with an ease that made the fierce-looking man feel shocked.
His dominating intent and all of the elents contained in his attack were neutralized by the sharpness and heat of the sword Cedric unleashed.
’Sword Intent. Sword laws and fire laws at the Great Law level! Good guy! Who is he? ’The fierce man exclaid and wondered to himself.
He could recognize the laws Cedric used. His background had people that had the sa thing but not on a single person.
Fire Laws, although basic and very common, was actually one of the most volatile elents to wield. Mastering it to the Great Law level was a feat not many people could achieve.
Even more so for sword laws. In the Primitive Universe, Sword Masters and Sword Immortals stood at the peak in terms of combat efficiency and lethality.
For both of these elents to appear and be mastered by a single person to this degree? This person must be from a very illustrious background!
Was he really this lucky to et one this day? Or is it just because of the upcoming grand tournant that these mysterious people from mysterious backgrounds began showing up?
