Calix’s body was violently expelled from the dungeon as the shimring gate behind him collapsed into the nothingness.

Thud.

His unconscious, battered body hit the forest floor hard, rolling once before coming to a stop.

Blood still flowed freely from the gaping wound in his chest, soaking into the grass and soil beneath him.

A short distance away, his horse jerked its head up.

It neighed anxiously and rushed toward him, it’s hooves striking the ground in panic as it sensed its master’s condition.

However halfway there, it stopped or rather was forced to stop.

As a shimring blue barrier erupted out of thin air, expanding instantly and forming a protective do around Calix’s body.

The horse snorted and pawed the barrier, however it was unnaturally sturdy as no matter how much it striked it, the barrier didn’t even budged.

Unable to pass through the barrier, the horse circled around it and just stayed still looking at it’s master.

Inside the do, Calix remained motionless. Yet within his fading consciousness, the system was going wild.

The chis continued fast, overlapping, unstable.

Then abruptly they stopped.

A strange, incomprehensible glow enveloped Calix’s body, far denser than mana, far purer than anything he would have ever felt before.

The system hesitated and for the first ti it looked confused.

Then...

The glow intensified.

Inside the barrier, Calix’s torn flesh began to move.

The hole in his chest slowly closed as muscle knitted back together. Cracked ribs realigned. Burnt veins regenerated.

Blood loss recovered as warmth returned to his body.

His breathing steadied, while his heartbeat cald and strengthened. Within monts, his chest was whole again no new scar, no wound, as if the fatal injury had never existed.

Then...

A pulse of light blinked into the surroundings. From his inventory space, a an egg erged and floated gently above his chest. The glow wrapped around it, sinking into its shell like water absorbed by dry soil.

The egg trembled once, then twice as if tasting sothing. However soon it went still as the glow started to fade.

Silence returned to the forest. Both the horse and the barrier remained. While the cause of the whole situation seed to be in a good deep sleep.

anwhile, in the GoldShade Duchy.

Chaos blood within the castle. As servants ran through the marble corridors, their footsteps echoing sharply as anxious voices overlapped one another.

The once-orderly atmosphere had shattered the mont the news spread. The princess had unknowingly collapsed.

Anaerah lay unconscious in her chambers now, curtains drawn to keep the light soft. Her chest rose and fell steadily, yet sothing about her stillness felt wrong...unnatural.

Her light wheat golden hair spread across the pillow, her face pale in a way that made the maids beside her uneasy.

Cynthia stood at her side.

Her hands were clenched so tightly they trembled, knuckles white as she stared at Anaerah’s unmoving face.

"Wake up..." she whispered, voice shaking. "I don’t even get what is happening."

Physicians had already examined her. Again and again, there had been no poison, no curse, not any visible wound yet Anaerah had collapsed.

It terrified them far more than a clear injury ever could.

"Send the ssage to the Duke, quickly" Cynthia ordered to the head maid of the castle. "Tell the Duke to return imdiately. It’s urgent."

"I shouldn’t have pushed her," she murmured, guilt flooding her eyes. "I should have stopped the duel..."

However then, sothing seed to change. No one noticed it, no one could see it, not even Cynthia.

But an intangible glow—identical to the one that had wrapped around Calix—began to surround Anaerah’s body.

It seeped into her silently. Her heart beating stronger. Her mana circuits widened, as the strain caused by Calix within her body eased.

Her bones strengthened, veins adapting while sothing deep inside her stabilized—sothing that had been on the verge of collapse.

From the outside, nothing was different.

But internally...Anaerah was changing.

Just so minutes later, the Duke burst into the room. He moved faster than anyone could comprehend, crossing the space in long strides and stopping at her bedside.

His composed deanor shattered the instant he saw her.

"Elizabeth," he said softly, voice trembling despite himself.

His wife stepped forward, hand covering her mouth, eyes glistening. "Eli.." Her breath hitched.

"She is fine," the Duke declared after a mont, his tone firm as if forcing reality to obey. "She will be."

Unseen by all.

The glow faded.

Leaving behind a body stronger than before.
