Major Joseph was under imnse pressure at this mont.

Though he sounded calm on the phone, in reality, he had no idea what course of action to take next.

He looked up at the buildings engulfed in raging flas.

"How much longer will it take to extinguish the fire? Is there any chance of rescuing the people inside the buildings?" he asked one of the engineers standing nearby.

The engineer next to him slowly shook his head.

"It's going to take a long ti to put out the fire. And we still don't know what caused it. There's a high chance that the fire is related to monsters.

If monsters caused it, we'll have an even harder ti extinguishing it. As for rescuing the people inside the building, we're unable to do so. The building seems to be sealed by so kind of force."

Hearing yet another piece of bad news, Major Joseph sighed deeply.

"I understand. Just do your best. If you still can't succeed in the end, I won't hold it against you," he said.

After saying this, Major Joseph planned to head to city hall.

Initially, he intended to deal with the fire before going to city hall, but the current situation no longer allowed him to waste any more ti.

Just as he was about to leave, Jeremy's voice suddenly rang out.

"Where are you going? Are you not planning to put out the fire first?"

Hearing Jeremy's voice, Major Joseph turned in the direction it ca from.

Jeremy and Ritchie ca into view.

Seeing the two of them, a faint smile finally appeared on Major Joseph's face.

In his opinion, Jeremy and Ritchie were exactly the people who could provide significant help in this crisis.

"You're finally here! I was starting to think you weren't planning to take any action during this crisis in Valley City."

"Of course, we ca!" Jeremy replied quickly. "After all, we stayed here because the mayor asked us to. We're here to protect Valley City. What exactly is causing this strange situation in Valley City? Have you figured it out yet?"

Jeremy wanted to gather as much information as possible because he suspected the strange occurrences in Valley City might be connected to him.

If this was indeed the case, there was a high probability that the situation involved the masterminds behind the Apocalypse Ga.

If the power of the Apocalypse Ga's creators had truly erged, both Jeremy and Ritchie needed to prepare for an arduous battle.

In response to Jeremy's inquiry, Major Joseph shook his head grimly.

"We don't know why this is happening. And I must inform you of sothing else—another piece of bad news. The mayor has suddenly disappeared. The city hall was attacked just monts ago."

What Joseph said was undoubtedly alarming.

However, Jeremy wasn't particularly concerned about the mayor's disappearance. What mattered to him was the nature of the entity that attacked city hall.

"What attacked city hall? Was it monsters or soone else? Did anyone see what was responsible for the attack?" Jeremy asked in quick succession, firing off three questions.

Major Joseph shook his head again.

"The staff inside city hall only reported that the lights suddenly went out. After a period of chaos, the lights ca back on, and the mayor was gone.

During this ti, they didn't encounter any enemies. Additionally, apart from the mayor, no one else was hard or targeted.

It seems like the attack on city hall was solely aid at abducting the mayor."

Hearing Joseph's explanation, Jeremy's expression grew even more serious.

Instead of providing clarity, the new information only deepened his confusion.

He couldn't comprehend why such a strange and sudden series of events had unfolded in Valley City.

"Do you have any leads?" Jeremy asked. "If you don't, you and Ritchie should co with . I'm heading to city hall now. We're bound to find so clues there."

Faced with Major Joseph's invitation, Jeremy and Ritchie naturally didn't refuse.

The three of them set off for city hall at the fastest pace possible.

When they arrived, the lights in city hall were completely out.

"Are you certain the others inside city hall weren't attacked? Because I'm starting to feel like there isn't a single living soul left in there," Jeremy said, eyeing the pitch-black building and turning to Joseph for confirmation.

Major Joseph's expression was grave, and his tone carried a distinct note of confusion.

"Just now on the phone, the mayor's assistant told that only the mayor had disappeared. He also said the lights in city hall were back on. Why does the reality here look so different from what he described?"

Cautiously, Major Joseph approached city hall, his eyes scanning for any signs of danger.

Jeremy turned to look at Ritchie.

Ritchie shook his head, making it clear that he hadn't detected any enemies inside city hall using his shadow manipulation ability.

However, this didn't an the building was free of threats.

It could simply an that whatever enemies were inside were highly skilled at concealing their presence.

Jeremy and Ritchie followed closely behind Major Joseph, both of them remaining on high alert. Only Major Joseph seed slightly reckless in his approach.

When the three of them reached the entrance to city hall, they noticed deep scratch marks on the walls near the doorway.

The jagged grooves were unmistakably the result of clawed attacks.

"City hall must have been attacked by monsters! I'd even wager these monsters are at least Level 70 or higher!" Jeremy declared confidently.

No sooner had Jeremy spoken than a swarm of chanical monsters ca pouring out of city hall.

Faced with this sudden assault, Jeremy and Ritchie imdiately shifted into combat mode.

Major Joseph, however, froze at the sight of the creatures, completely overwheld by fear and unable to act.

He stood stock-still, paralyzed.

Without hesitation, Jeremy activated his King of Ti and Space ability, teleporting Major Joseph to a safe location.

"Snap out of it! Get in the fight! We're facing a massive wave of monsters here!" Jeremy shouted toward Major Joseph as he fought the chanical creatures.

The sheer number of chanical monsters was staggering, and so among them were of notably high levels.

Because of this, Jeremy and Ritchie couldn't imdiately eliminate all the enemies.

The three of them—Jeremy, Ritchie, and Major Joseph—were forced to fight while retreating, doing their best to hold the monsters at bay.

During the battle, Jeremy remained vigilant, scanning their surroundings for any additional threats.

It was then that Jeremy noticed sothing peculiar: the chanical monsters didn't seem to have been hiding in city hall all along. Instead, they appeared to have entered city hall from elsewhere in Valley City, only to later surge out of the building in a coordinated attack.

"What on earth is going on? Could it be that Valley City's underground is crawling with chanical monsters? If that's the case, doesn't it an there are hidden instances beneath Valley City?"

Jeremy quickly made a judgnt.

He concluded that the area around Valley City wasn't devoid of instances. Instead, all the instances in this region were hidden beneath Valley City itself.

Before Jeremy and Ritchie arrived, the underground instances had never been activated by the Apocalypse Ga's creators.

This was because, in the eyes of the creators, the ordinary humans living in Valley City weren't worth targeting.

However, after Jeremy and Ritchie arrived, the creators of the Apocalypse Ga imdiately activated the monsters lurking in the underground instances.

From the types of monsters appearing, Jeremy instantly deduced which creator was responsible for this attack—it was The White Tower.

"It seems The White Tower still hasn't given up on finding an opportunity to eliminate us! Didn't the encounter in the Exile Tower teach it any lessons?!" Jeremy exclaid, his frustration evident as he spoke in front of Ritchie and Major Joseph.

In Jeremy's view, The White Tower had never succeeded in any of its confrontations with him.

Under normal circumstances, The White Tower shouldn't have chosen to engage him again. Instead, it should have focused on strengthening its own power, much like The Sun had done.

Only after gaining sufficient strength to truly defeat Jeremy should The White Tower have made another move.

But reality proved Jeremy's assumption wrong.

Even though The White Tower hadn't obtained any significant increase in power, it still chose to act.

And this ti, its actions had plunged Jeremy into a dire crisis.

The sheer number of chanical monsters appearing simultaneously made it impossible for Jeremy and his companions to eliminate them all quickly.

To make matters worse, Jeremy couldn't flee from Valley City, as more monsters were gathering outside the city.

Adding to the chaos was The Moon, another Apocalypse Ga creator, who was also using its powers to target Jeremy.

The greatest crisis Jeremy had ever faced in Valley City was now upon him.

Although Kean had long harbored deep hostility toward Jeremy and had sought to make him pay, the true threat to Jeremy ultimately ca from the creators of the Apocalypse Ga.

However, Jeremy was not soone who would easily admit defeat.

He was determined to find a way to turn the tide, even in the midst of such a dire crisis.

In fact, Jeremy had already begun formulating several action plans in his mind.

Once he assessed the situation further, he would decide which plan to implent based on the actual circumstances.
