CHAPTER 325 – Next Step
Androda did not bother speaking more words to Wu Bai as they would be wasted on soone like him.
Rather, she looked away and walked up to Liu Xueyi, intercepting him before he ca over to where she stood with Wu Bai.
"Hey," his voice ca out gently as his eyes swept down her face. He needed to make sure she was all right.
"I am fine," Androda said reassuringly.
"You sure?"
"Yes. It would take a whole lot more for the words of those two to affect ever again."
"Good girl." He placed his hand on top of her head and brushed down the length of her hair with his fingers.
"Co, let's go."
Dropping his hand to the side, he quickly took hers and led her out of the courtroom.
The fight had only just begun and more importantly, he wished to take her to eat or rest.
He knew how ntally exhausting a trial could be, especially having to answer questions from that conniving wench.
Once they got into his car, Liu Xueyi placed a call to Tang Yan, informing him to take the others with him and locate a restaurant of his choosing.
It was not going to be a big celebration but he felt like using this to thank and encourage them for the work done so far.
**Deli King Restaurant**
On getting there, they were ushered to the private room Liu Xueyi had booked beforehand and t him and Androda seated and engaged in a discussion.
She had a relaxed smile on her face the mont the four of them worked in and greeted them cheerfully.
Jian Xiaofei was the first to respond. She had hoped Androda would not be sad about the lies that Lawyer Longwei ford.
But seeing her jovial as always, she felt a weight being lifted off her chest.
"Aighoo, thank goodness, Miss Kai. I am happy you are not stressed too much."
Liu Xueyi gave a small nod and responded. "She is stressed, yes but not angry. In fact, we got a lead in the discussion before your arrival."
"I see," Tang Yan chid in as he pulled a chair for Jian Xiaofei.
Similarly, Lawyer Chang who had been listening at the side, pulled out a seat for Peng Xiaoli before both n took their chairs close to the girls.
"Lawyer Chang, I must say, I love the way you placed Beatrice Zhang in her place," Tang Yan began. "Even Longwei could not stop her client from making a fool of herself and falling into the trap."
A humble smile shone on Lawyer Chang's face, as he accepted the complint from tang Yan.
"I am only doing my job, no need to praise . Besides, they brought the battle this way when they attacked Androda, twisting every word my client said. I simply returned the favour in a simple way."
"Thanks for that," Androda dipped her head in gratitude.
"No worries. Besides, they have yet to see the true side of this battle. Anyone who tampers with my client would see the full force of the law." He smirked at her, earning a scroll from Liu Xueyi.
"Hahaha," seeing the reaction his friend gave, Tang Yan burst out laughing. "He could not hold it in anymore.
When he saw that smirk, he had suspected Liu Xueyi was going to act in that way and just as he thought, his friend did not disappoint.
Androda felt like hiding in her chair when she noticed the scroll he gave Lawyer Chang.
For real, he could not take a joke, could he?
"My apologies, I did not an to offend you," Lawyer Chang quickly exonerated himself.
"Better," Liu Xueyi acknowledged proudly.
At this point, all Androda could do was facepalm herself and look away. Her face was already flushed with embarrassnt.
"Anyways," Peng Xiaoli uttered, gearing everyone's attention away from the blushing Androda, saving the latter from further embarrassnt.
"I would say we should expect Lawyer Longwei to co back strong and attack Miss Kai in her next trial," she declared.
Everyone nodded at her reasoning. It was really safe to say that and as a team, they had to be prepared for the worst
"Yes, you are right, Xiaoli. As such, I plan on us acting this way."
The mont he said that all smiles disappeared from his face. Taking the matter more seriously, he placed both hands on the table.
"Since they would be looking for ways to condemn whatever evidence we have against them, we will think like the enemy."
"But…" Liu Xueyi lifted a finger, promptly stopping Peng Xiaoli from speaking.
"Let finish first," he urged her. Getting her approval, he resud. "When I say we are thinking like the enemy, I did not an we would not think for ourselves."
He directed his gaze to Peng Xiaoli. Instinctively she nodded. He got what she was about to say. Now that they were on the sa page, he proceeded with his speech.
"We would be taxed with thinking double-mindedly and finding shreds of evidence in that direction. Understood?" They nodded in affirmation.
"To defeat your enemy, you need to think like them, ahead of them and outsmart them," Liu Xueyi explained.
"Fine by ," Tang Yan agreed.
" too. I have co this far with Miss Kai. I would ensure I do my best in making them pay," Peng Xiaoli declared.
"Thank you" Androda voiced in a relatively low tone, almost as though she whispered and mouthed those words to Peng Xiaoli.
"Anyti."
"Well, I may not have been there when this started but they tried to ss with my big sis. Now that, I cannot forgive," Jian Xiaofei announced. "I would task myself triple tis what everyone is to do. Leave hacking to ."
Androda felt her chest swell as she watched the young Jian Xiaofei whom she had only known for a few months stand up for her.
"Good. And I will continue doing my best," Lawyer Chang affird.
"That settles it then. You have all of my support and resources, Andy," Liu Xueyi winked at her before fixing his gaze on the others. "Let's win this."
Everyone had smiles on their faces laced with determination. No one wanted to lose and that was one great attribute they had,
None was giving up.
"By the way, Miss Kai, are the chips from the video footage still safely in your possession?"
"Yes. I have copies, just to be safe."
"Perfect then," Tang Yan stated, clasping his hands together. Now, the next step is..."
