The battlefield raged on, chaos spreading as the beasts aligned with Empyrean, leaving the seraphs no ti to ponder the how or why. There was no room for strategy now—only survival and action as they fought to best their feral adversaries.

Amid the turmoil, on a plateau stained with blood and scorched earth, two figures stood locked in a deadly confrontation. One of them, Val Skyblade, coughed violently, crimson staining his lips. His grip tightened on the hilt of his massive sword, its edge shimring faintly with divine light.

"Incredible," he rasped, his breath labored but his spirit unbroken. "To think soone like you exists! A mortal who could stand against ..."

Facing him, Selena, the Sword Empress, stood tall despite the toll the duel had taken. Her figure was firm, her posture unyielding, though her labored breaths betrayed the exhaustion creeping into her every muscle. Even against Paradise’s finest swordsman, her eyes burned with unrelenting resolve.

"I die by the sword," Val declared, raising his blade slightly in salute. "Are you the sa?"

Selena’s gaze didn’t waver. "No," she said firmly. "I live by the sword. But I am embraced by him."

Val’s eyes widened, his mind reeling with the cryptic aning of her words. He smiled faintly, though there was bitterness in his expression. "I see..."

"You don’t," Selena interrupted, her voice sharp. "The mont you took those wings, you chained yourself to hierarchy. That’s all you seraphs care about—your throne and your place in the divine order. You’ve forgotten the freedom of the blade."

Val’s smirk faded, his face tightening with grim determination. "Then grant the respect of death!" he shouted, raising his massive sword. "Hail the All-Father!"

The tension in the air thickened as Val’s divine energy surged. His eyes narrowed into sharp slits, and a radiant aura enveloped him, the very ground trembling under his feet.

"Skyblade Art!" Val roared, his greatsword glowing with a light that pierced the heavens.

Selena whispered, almost inaudibly, "Void Art."

The battlefield seed to hold its breath as the two warriors prepared for the final clash. Val’s greatsword pulsed with divine power, the radiance cutting through the heavy air and leaving a path of shattered space in its wake.

"You see," Val said, his voice echoing with triumph, "becoming a seraph didn’t just bless with wings—it perfected my art! My blade has transcended its limits!"

"Not enough," Selena countered, her voice cold and steady. Without hesitation, she charged forward, her blade gleaming like a shard of night itself.

Val’s expression hardened. "Too late!" he bellowed. "Sky Fissure!"

He brought his greatsword down in a sweeping arc, unleashing a devastating wave of divine energy. The clouds above split apart, the ground beneath them fissuring as space itself seed to rend under the strike’s force.

The earth trembled as Val Skyblade’s Sky Fissure carved through the heavens and earth alike. The sheer force of his divine slash ripped apart the battlefield, a fissure of radiant light leaving destruction in its wake. The seraph’s eyes glead with the pride of his art, his blade humming with celestial energy.

Selena’s figure was dwarfed by the magnitude of the attack. To the onlookers, it seed impossible for her to survive such power.

"Selena!" shouted a voice from afar, but she didn’t flinch.

Val’s lips curled into a grim smile. "This is the power of Paradise’s mightiest swordsman! Your Void Art ans nothing against this divine light!"

But Selena remained calm, her gaze fixed on the towering wave of destruction hurtling toward her. Her feet dug into the ground, her hand gripping the hilt of her blade tightly. The air around her grew unnaturally still, as if the world itself was holding its breath.

As Selena steadied her stance, the world seed to blur for a mont, her mind taking her back. She saw herself as a younger woman, sparring endlessly with Lyon in their school days. She could still hear his laughter whenever he disard her, his teasing words urging her to get better. Then ca the hollow ache of his sudden disappearance, leaving without a word, abandoning their dreams and her unanswered questions. Her heart had hardened when he reappeared, audaciously crashing her arranged marriage with that sa carefree grin, dragging her into a life of unimaginable trials and battles—but also a bond forged anew.

The mories sharpened her resolve. "You gave the blade," she whispered under her breath, her grip tightening on the hilt. "Now, I’ll prove I’m worthy of it."

Her eyes locked on Val, the weight of her past fueling her next move.

In an instant, she vanished.

The fissure crashed into where she had been standing, but no trace of her remained. Val’s eyes darted around in confusion, his divine senses searching.

A whisper, sharp and cutting, reached his ear. "The thing about divine light..."

Selena appeared behind him, her blade already drawn. A void of black energy encased it, swallowing the light around her.

"...is that it casts a shadow."

With his quick reflexes he jump-turned, but it was too late.

"Abyssal Rend!"

The tip of her blade carved into the air, and the space before her scread in protest. A blinding crack tore across the horizon, splitting the battlefield with a massive fissure that seed endless. From the rift erged a chaotic maelstrom, a churning void of swirling winds and raw, destructive energy that consud everything in its path.

The heavens dimd, the once-brilliant sky darkening as though night had suddenly fallen. The oppressive stillness was broken by the deafening sound of Val’s regalia greatsword shattering in his grip, the divine artifact unable to withstand the overwhelming force.

Val staggered, his breath shallow. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, painting a grim portrait of his defeat. Yet, a faint smile crept onto his face. His body swayed, his knees buckling as he murmured, "A worthy blade... forged by an even worthier wielder." a streak crimson across the neck.

He fell.

Then his body tumbling to the ground with a final, unspoken pride, his eyes closing as the fissure behind him finally faded, leaving a scar upon the battlefield and a chilling silence in its wake.

Selena barely had ti to steady her breath, her limbs trembling from exhaustion, when the seraphs seized their chance.

"Now!"

"She’s vulnerable!"

"End her!"

A wave of divine warriors charged toward her, their weapons gleaming with celestial energy, each strike aid to be her last. Selena’s vision blurred, and her knees wavered, but she refused to fall.

The sound of a whip cracking sliced through the chaos, bypassing the seraphs’ formation with a sharp, cutting precision. Just as they closed in, an overwhelming gust of wind exploded outward, knocking the seraphs off their course and scattering them like leaves.

As the dust settled, a figure erged, her presence commanding as though the battlefield bent to her will. Cecile strode beside Selena, her trident glowing with the primal energies of fire, water, and wind swirling in perfect harmony. She cast a sly glance at Selena, her smirk both playful and sharp.

"You owe —again," Cecile said, her voice brimming with confidence.

Selena, too tired to muster a snarky retort, could only let out a breathy snicker, a faint grin playing on her lips.

From the ranks of the seraphs, one stepped forward, her aura a palpable force that silenced the whispers of her kin. She was a woman of striking beauty and cold precision, her five pairs of radiant wings a testant to her rank. Her teardrop insignia glistened like molten silver against her forehead, a mark of her lineage and authority.

"I was hoping this would be simple," the seraph said, her voice asured but laced with an undercurrent of threat.

"So was I," Cecile replied, spinning her trident with casual mastery, the elents flaring to life in a srizing yet ominous display. She stepped forward, the ground cracking slightly under the force of her presence. "But since we’re here... care for a dance?"

The seraph’s lips curled into a humorless smile. "You’re outnumbered. Your arrogance will be your downfall."

"Maybe," Cecile shrugged, her trident crackling as the elental energies surged. "But I’ve always been one for making the odds entertaining."

Cecile twirled her trident with an effortless grace that belied the storm raging within her. She might not match Selena’s mastery of the sword, but Cecile was never ant to be the Sword Empress. Her path was forged in fire, blood, and unrelenting resilience, honed in the lonely corners of Nostria’s streets where survival was the only art she mastered. From a wandering War Maiden to a celebrated War Empress, her journey had always been one of relentless evolution. Now, as the War Goddess, her na echoed across realms, feared and revered in equal asure.

As the seraph lunged, Cecile stepped forward with a confidence born of countless battles. Her trident flared to life, its elental energies roaring like her indomitable spirit. She had stood beside Lyon before his na beca legend, before the Zodiac Emperor was feared across the heavens. She had fought, bled, and conquered by his side, not as a follower, but as his equal.

Now, with the battlefield as her stage, Cecile’s presence consud the mont, her power a testant to the title she carried. The War Goddess would not be eclipsed. Not here. Not now.

"Let show you why I stand beside him," Cecile declared, her voice ringing with the promise of absolute destruction, as her trident surged forward to et the seraph’s assault, shattering the very air with her wrath.

The battlefield quieted for a heartbeat, the tension so thick it felt as though the world held its breath. Then, with a sudden, explosive force, the duel began, the clash of divine power against the wrath of the elents shaking the heavens.
