Xiran had just woken up. He was still lying in bed with his hand under his head, thinking about the strange ssages he had received last night. He raked his brain to narrow down the people who might be texting him.

He was about to call Rumail so he would trace the number for him when his phone began to ring. He picked it up and saw the caller ID and a frown crept up on his face.

Xiran received the call and said:

"Hello!"

Silence followed.

All that mustered up courage began to dwindle at his single utterance and Aselia felt sothing stuck in her throat for she couldn’t speak for a while.

"Hello!" he said again, a little annoyed this ti.

"Hi!" her voice had him springing from the bed, his heartbeat jumped from a steady one to an uncontrollable one. His free hand went to his hair and he clutched them so hard and cursed under his breath.

How did she get his number?

This ti it was silence at his end. The only sound was of his uneven heartbeats. Awkwardness hung all around him.

"Xiran???" her voice was soft and it was more of a question as if she was trying to confirm his identity. He was speechless. She was discovering him all over again and he wasn’t sure he had the heart to push her away. His heart won’t be able to bear it, hurting her, hurting himself.

"Who is this?" he tried to act indifferent, not letting his emotions show he had recognised her voice.

Aselia was saddened by his cold tone, he seed so different from the man she had t at the ball, where he was gentle like a cool breeze on a sunny day. Today he was the snowstorm, cold and indifferent. But then he didn’t know he was talking to the sa girl, or so Aselia thought.

Yurian was on pins and needles, pleading with her but she wasn’t paying him any heed. She just wanted him to watch as she unfolded the truth.

"I am the girl you danced with at the Masquerade Ball, two days ago, or have you forgotten?" he felt the edginess of her words. He was still trying to comprehend what to say to her when he heard banging noises from her side.

Shrieks followed and he knew sothing was wrong.

A loud growl was heard followed by several others.

"Who are you?" she scread in rage, "Get out of our house," more growls followed. The thudding of her phone and he knew she had dropped it. Xiran’s whole being tensed when he heard the next voice reach his ears.

"So you are his little elf," it was calm and yet full of malice, "What a beautiful little thing you are, I will have fun breaking you down."

He stood up at a lightning pace, a seething rage consud every cell of his existence. His beating heart echoed in the tornt he felt deep within his soul. The world around him blurred into a chaotic haze, his vision clouded by the overwhelming agony that had clenched his heart.

"ASELIA..." he scread.

A maelstrom of emotions surged through his veins, mixing anger, despair, and disbelief into a volatile concoction. The realization that his Leia was about to be snatched away by the very embodint of evil; that was his father ignited a fury unlike anything he had ever known. It roared within him, threatening to devour his sanity and consu him whole.

His fists clenched so tightly that his nails digging into his palms drew out blood. His jaw tightened, the muscles in his face contorting with the weight of his despair. A scream of anguish welled up within his throat and throttled out in full force.

His mind swirled, tornting him with images of his love in the clutches of his father to be subjected to untold horrors. The re thought of her suffering ignited a fire within him, an inferno of rage that threatened to consu everything in its path.

The phone was still glued to his ear when he heard the sickening voice of his father on the other end and he knew he had picked up her phone.

"Son, I told you I will find her and after what you did to , there is not a shred of rcy I will be showing her. Co to the house," he snickered on the other line.

"Don’t you dare fucking touch a single strand of her hair or you won’t even live to regret it," Xiran bellowed like a madman.

"Xiran you are in no position to make threats. Co alone and no pulling any shit on , or I would cut her into so many parts that you won’t be able to even piece her together," an unfathomable fear grappled him because he knew his father wasn’t joking. The weight of his words almost crushed him.

"I am coming. Please! Don’t hurt her," the depths of despair had occupied his heart as the strength almost left him. His knees began to buckle as he pleaded, wanting to slump on the ground. But he kept standing, standing for her. All his fears had co true today, all his efforts to keep her safe disappeared like a wisp of smoke and in the end, his father got his hands on his Leia.

At that mont, the world seed to shrink, focusing solely on the absence of his love. He felt as though he was standing at the precipice of a vast abyss, teetering between madness and despair.

"I am waiting!" his father replied, that frosty tone of his chilled Xiran to the bone. The pain in his chest was palpable, a physical ache that magnified the agony in his heart.

Each breath he took was laced with anguish, and the air around him felt heavy and oppressive. His eyes swelled and tears began to stream down his face as the line went dead.

In the depths of his despair, a glimr of determination flickered within his eyes. The consuming rage morphed into a resolve, to rescue her from the clutches of darkness. With every fibre of his being, he vowed to unleash his wrath on all those who would wrong her and to tear through any obstacle that stood in his way.
