“Will my son beco resistant to the decoction?” asked Sun Zhengrong
“No, resistance to drugs will only happen if soone takes the sa dication for long period of ti. Yunsheng only just took it once,” said the stoic man.
“I see, then I should pay another visit to Dr. Wang as soon as I can.” Sun Zhengrong breathed a sigh, then looked through the window.
anwhile, Wang Yao was studying dicine on Nanshan Hill.
He had been studying Chinese Traditional dicine, particularly acupuncture, as well as helping with the building of his clinic.
After he had seen so patients out of Lianshan, and witnessed the acupuncture treatnt conducted by Sang Guzi and Dr. Chen, Wang Yao felt his treatnt thods were lacking. The effect of treatnt could be limited when he only used herbal therapy and massage. He believed that with the assistance of acupuncture, he could make his treatnts more effective.
I need to get so acupuncture needles.
After the construction of his clinic had been completed, Wang Yao invited the workers for dinner at a restaurant to appreciate their hard work.
Wang Yao and the workers had a good ti together. They had a lot of drinks.
Tian Yuantu arranged a small bus to pick up any drunk employees, even though he normally didn’t.
He didn’t speak much to Wang Yao; he only asked Wang Yao to let him know the date of the clinic’s opening ceremony.
Of course Wang Yao still had to pay for the construction. Tian Yuantu gave him a big discount. Actually, Tian Yuantu didn’t make any profit out of this job; instead, he lost money in it.
anwhile, inside a house with ocean view, Wei Hai was with his family.
He was playing gas with his son and daughter happily when his wife ca over.
“Kids, could you please play with each other for a while? Mommy needs to speak to Daddy,” said Wei Hai’s wife.
“Okay.” The two children were quite compliant. They went off to continue to play.
“What do you want to say to ?” said Wei Hai coldly, as if he was speaking to a stranger.
“I made a reservation with a specialist in Beijing. Would you like to see him?” asked the beautiful woman softly.
“I don’t need to see a specialist. I know my own body,” said Wei Hai coldly.
The woman didn’t respond. She just sat there with her mouth closed. Her eyes welled up with tears.
“Is there anything else?” asked Wei Hai.
“Are you going to stay here tonight?” said Wei Hai’s wife.
“Yes,” said Wei Hai. He wanted to be with his kids.
“Okay,” said his wife as she dried her eyes. She then turned around and left the room.
Looking at her back, Wei Hai’s eyes beca much softer.
He breathed a big sigh.
“Daddy!” His two lovely kids ran towards him right after his wife had left the room. Wei Hai’s smiled sincerely.
It is so hard to live!
It was late in the night, Wang Yao hadn’t gone to sleep.
He was up reading a book about acupuncture. He was making notes and marks in the margins while he read. He made adjustnts to his notes from ti to ti.
What’s wrong with this book?
He took another look at the author and the publisher. He had just finished reading a third of the book and he had already found six obvious errors. He was not sure if the errors were made by the author or the publisher.
“This is a dical book. People could die from those errors!” murmured Wang Yao.
He didn’t go to sleep until 11 pm.
The next morning, Wang Yao went to practice Kung Fu and work in his herbal field as usual. He left Nanshan Hill after he had finished working.
The construction of his clinic had been completed. It had black roof, white walls, and a wooden door.
The courtyard was decorated in a very simple manner, according to Wan Yao’s request. Part of the courtyard was covered by soil, where Wang Yao was going to grow so plants.
He was going to set up a battle array in the courtyard. He had a basic idea of the battle array on Nanshan Hill. He just needed to change so details so it would work down here.
He walked around in the courtyard, then strolled around inside the clinic.
After his visit to the clinic, he gave his parents a call, before he drove into the town center. He wanted to see Li Maoshuang.
“What? You want acupuncture needles?” asked Li Maoshuang in surprise.
“Yes, I’ve been to other dicine shops, but didn’t see any needles,” said Wang Yao.
“I see. You won’t be able to find acupuncture needles in those shops as people don’t typically need these things. Please wait a mont.” Li Maoshuang then made a phone call.
“One of my friend will bring so acupuncture needles here, but they are just common acupuncture needles,” said Li Maoshuang once he hung up.
“Common ones are fine. I just need so to practice,” said Wang Yao with a smile.
Soone ca to Li Maoshuang’s place with a set of acupuncture needles made of silver 20 minutes later. The needles were very fine, soft and shiny.
“How much are the needles?” asked Wang Yao.
“It’s just a set of acupuncture needles. Don’t worry about the cost,” Li Maoshuang insisted.
“Okay, thanks,” said Wang Yao.
What’s going on? Wang Yao took a close look at Li Maoshuang’s eyes.
“What are you doing?” Li Maoshuang was surprised.
“Have you been having stomach aches recently? And diarrhea?” asked Wang Yao.
“What? How do you know?” said Li Maoshuang in surprise.
He did have diarrhea quite often recently, and the diarrhea was quite severe. However, he felt better today, so he didn’t ntion it to Wang Yao.
Wang Yao had slled and heard sothing different when he was speaking to Li Maoshuang.
The ancient four thods of diagnosis were quite unique.
Li Maoshuang’s breath was sour, his face had turned slightly yellow, and there was a yellow and white coating on his tongue. Wang Yao then checked his pulse and confird the cause of his condition.
The damp-heat in his stomach caused frequent diarrhea.
“You haven’t been ho lately?” asked Wang Yao.
“No, I went to see a few friends in Yuhang,” said Li Maoshuang.
“Yuhang is a pretty place,” said Wang Yao.
“Indeed, but it was quite hot there,” said Li Maoshuang.
“Yuhang is a place rich in fish and rice. I guess you ate quite a few fish.”
“You are right. I probably ate a lot of fish. Why?” Li Maoshuang started to realize he probably had so health issues again. Therefore he suddenly beca anxious, and sat up unconsciously.
“You don’t need to worry too much. You just have too much damp-heat in your stomach. Do you have pen and paper? I can give you a prescription,” said Wang Yao.
Li Maoshuang went to get pen and paper right away. Wang Yao then wrote a formula for him before handing the paper back to him.
“Boil the herbs ntioned in the formula and take it every day. You will get better within a week,” said Wang Yao.
“Okay, thanks,” said Li Maoshuang with a smile after he took the piece of paper.
Wang Yao didn’t stay at Li Maoshuang’s place for a long ti as he had other things to do. He went to the nursery, which he had visited before on his way back.
“Hey, long ti no see!” said Chen Kun, who was wearing short pants. He had a piece of waterlon in one hand, and a leaf fan in the other hand.
“Try the waterlon. I grew it myself, in my garden. Very sweet,” said Chen Kun as he pointed the waterlon on the table.
“No, thank you. I’m here to see the seedlings,” said Wang Yao.
“No problem, what do you want to buy this ti?” asked Chen Kun.
He rembered Wang Yao well. He was amazed to see Wang Yao grow seedlings that were not suitable to grow in the north. It was the first ti for him to co across soone with such a green thumb since he started his nursery.
“I want to buy so plants for my courtyard. Do you have any suggestions?” asked Wang Yao.
“Courtyard?” Chen Kun started to think.
“You can grow bamboo, fragrans, orchards, jujube trees, and pogranate.” Chen Kun gave Wang Yao a big list of plants.
All the plants he recomnded had good anings. Normally people liked to grow those plants in their gardens for good wishes.
“I see.” Wang Yao tried to make a decision while Chen Kun was listing them off. He ended up buying a few of the plants Chen Kun recomnded.
“When can you deliver them?” asked Wang Yao.
“In three days. Where do you want to deliver them?” asked Chen Kun.
“To my village, the new house at the south end of the village. You won’t miss it. Call when you bring the plants,” said Wang Yao.
“Okay, no problem,” said Wang Yao.
He paid the deposit, then left the nursery.
After he had visited Li Maoshuang and Chen Kun, he drove back to the village. His phone started to ring while he was driving.
“Hello, Mom? Why are you calling ? I’m driving,” said Wang Yao. “What...? Okay...Don’t worry, I’ll be there in a minute,” said Wang Yao.
He accelerated after he hung up. The engine made a big sound and the vehicle sped up like a wild black leopard.
Zhang Xiufang told Wang Yao in the phone that his grandpa suddenly fainted. She had taken his grandpa to the hospital in the town center, and wanted Wang Yao to visit his grandfather as soon as possible.
Wang Yao arrived at the hospital in ten minutes. His grandpa had woken up, but he didn’t look well.
Wang Yao didn’t ask any questions. He sat down to check his grandpa’s pulse right away.
Apparently his grandpa had a heat stroke.
It was not uncommon to have a heat stroke in hot weather.
However, heat stroke could cause serious consequences. People died from heat stroke in sumr every year. Most of those people were elderly people and children, whose immune system did not function as well as healthy adults.
Being exposed to heat for too long could impair one’s body function. If a heat stroke was identified and treated in ti, the patient could recover within several hours. The only thing was that the patient would be weak for a while. He or she would require a lot of rest. If a heat stroke was not identified and treated in ti, however, the symptoms would get worse. It could even be fatal.
