Chapter 560: New Shard
Following the activation of Ti Rewind, a white light started to be unleashed from his forehead. Xiao Lin’s entire being was like a lighthouse in the darkness, and had illuminated even the distorted chaos and darkness, but he felt like that was a problem, because Xiao Lin should just have been an observer, yet in this place where even ti and space have been turned into darkness, it seed like his status as a spectator had also been distorted.
Ti Rewind could cause an area’s ti to move in reverse, allowing one to observe the truth that happened in the past.
Yet, what could he see by rewinding ti there, because that was a place where ti did not even exist? However, Xiao Lin quickly got his answer, the slowly illuminated chaos was like a dark mist, and it slowly looked like it was moving.
No, in the world that was in an indeterminate location, there was no darkness or mist. What was dispersed by Ti Rewind’s light was not mist, but ti!
Suddenly, Xiao Lin understood the principles behind it. In this world where space and ti had fallen quiet, his Ti Rewind had caused it to move again.
The darkness was dispersed, and the man that was floating in mid-air seed to feel it as well. He turned his head with a strange expression, and on his face was a thick look of confusion and alarm.
As ti started to move again, Xiao Lin’s originally distorted body was quickly recovering, and was also moving toward that man. However, the closer he got to that man, it was clear from the man’s expression that, even though it was obvious from the man’s expression that he could perceive Xiao Lin, the man could not see him.
That strange scene was already not sothing XIao Lin could understand. He did not know if that place had sothing like the wall of ti that served as a barrier.
Fine, Xiao Lin did not even know if he was interfering with history by doing this, or maybe it was just like sealing the sea god, and this was actually a part of history itself?
“Ivan, is it you?” the man suddenly said, his voice obviously old and raspy; it seed like even making a sound was hard. It was like a person who had never spoken for decades suddenly opening their mouths, realizing they had forgotten how to speak.
Xiao Lin did not know what to say. At that mont, he tried greeting the man. After the mist had been dispersed by Ti Rewind, he found that he could indeed talk there. However, the other party did not seem to have heard him, and his voice could not be transmitted.
“I can feel that you’re here. Have you finally returned?” The man could not get a response from Xiao Lin, but he still mumbled to himself.
“Ah, it feels just like yesterday, but I’m soone who specializes in ti and space, so I know that even though no ti feels like it’s passed here, who knows how much ti has actually passed by? Has it been decades or just a few years?”
Xiao Lin sighed in his heart, as from his words with Ivan before, he could already guess that the mark of their battle would have been noted down in history as the Tunguska Event. Because that man had ntioned the Tungus River, the explosion had occurred near Russia’s Tungus River.
Calculating the ti, over a hundred years had passed. It was possible the man understood that the ti outside was incredibly faster than here, but he could not have possibly anticipated such a large change. It was just a hasty farewell to him, but a century had already passed.
“I don’t know what the current world is like, but since you’re still here, then I believe both Earth and Planet Norma are both fine. I thought that I was very good at space and ti before, but regretfully, I only understand now that, compared to the uncountable laws of the universe, the knowledge I have grasped was only a drop in the water... I can no longer leave this place. I can feel that my body has already deteriorated beyond repair. If it wasn’t for the Shard of Creation you gave that protected , I would not even be able to talk like a cripple right now.”
The man spoke while panting, and it seed like every word used up all of his energy, like a candle about to go out. Xiao Lin even felt like getting the man to stop talking, but he could not do anything. All Xiao Lin could do was stare as the man floated in the air, listening to the low voice constantly resonating into the darkness. His Ti Rewind only had a limited range of effect, so upon leaving the radius of the white glow, it was still all distorted space and ti.
“I’m tired. Compared to staying here living between life and death, I’d rather just go quickly, but I can’t just leave what you gave behind. I know this shard is very important to you and both the worlds, but now that you’re here, I can finally return it to you.”
The man tried to lift his arm, but it powerlessly fell as he lifted it halfway. After a few minutes, the irregularly shaped shard floated up from his body, and the golden glow of the shard even covered up the light that Heaven’s Eye emitted.
The Shard slowly moved toward Xiao Lin, and when it was close, Xiao Lin tried to grab the shard, but his hand rely passed through. It was just like everything was just an illusion.
After trying a few tis, Xiao Lin even tried to focus all of Heaven’s Eye’s power on the shard, but he still could not touch it. He could not help but get anxious, because he started to feel like his strength was rapidly being drained and lost. Maintaining Ti Rewind was still sothing very taxing for Xiao Lin, and just a short few minutes was already his limit.
Once he lost Ti Rewind, the temporarily lit up area would once again be plunged into an unending darkness, and at that mont, it would be impossible to find the Shard of Creation.
The man could not see what was happening. The mont the shard left him, his entire body started to rapidly age until he looked like dried up firewood. His life could end at any ti, and because of that, Xiao Lin was even more nervous. He did not want that man to lose his life in vain.
“Since Heaven’s Eye can’t be used, then I’ll try using my own shards!” Xiao Lin hatched a plan in a hurry. Seeing as he had not much ti left with Ti Rewind, he imdiately summoned the Shard of Creation in his body.
The two pieces quietly floated in the air, and radiated their own energy. From the size, the other piece was noticeably larger. Xiao Lin’s shard might have been combined with a few different pieces, but it seed like it was still not as large as the one Ivan left behind.
