Compared to other places in the Lands Between, nights in Stormveil were quite lively.
Because there were so many living people here, most of whom you could talk to, the city had a rather prosperous nightlife. These bustling areas were concentrated on the streets that catered to the Tarnished.
For Bai Shi, however, none of this was enough to pique his interest.
Before he was transported here, he would play gas until midnight, then lie in bed scrolling on his phone until who knows what hour.
The entertainnt in the Lands Between was nothing compared to that of his previous life. As a result, Bai Shi usually went to bed early to alleviate his ntal fatigue.
Join the great cult of sleep!
But tonight, it seed Bai Shi would not be getting the peaceful night’s rest he was used to.
lina quietly pushed open Bai Shi’s door, slipping through the narrow crack.
Her movents were light, and her feet made not the slightest sound.
Although she had barely used such skills in her recovered mories, lina still employed this technique—one from the sa school as the Black Knife Assassins—with effortless ease.
This clandestine way of moving was also quite fitting for a spirit.
Perhaps accustod to a life of being hidden away, combined with her long stint in spectral form, lina’s presence was now inexplicably faint.
lina ca to Bai Shi's bedside and gazed at his sleeping face, as familiar as ever, feeling a sense of nostalgia.
It felt like a long ti since she had watched him like this.
lina stood quietly for a mont, her heart still hesitating.
After a while, she finally made up her mind.
She had already co this far; could she really turn back and run now? That would be too pathetic.
lina slowly bent down, brushing aside her hanging hair, and moved closer to Bai Shi’s face.
lina reached out a hand, caressing Bai Shi’s cheek.
The mont lina touched him, Bai Shi imdiately woke from his slumber.
Oh... it’s lina...
Bai Shi had thought it was so kind of ergency. Seeing that it was lina, he instantly relaxed.
He’d been with lina for so long; this wasn’t the first ti she had woken him up...
Huh? lina?!
Bai Shi’s eyes shot open, and as he looked at the figure before him, he beca wide awake.
Wait a minute. lina had her physical body back now; she didn't sleep with him anymore.
If this wasn't a dream, then why was lina suddenly in his room?
And... her face... so close...
But before Bai Shi could react, lina’s lips pressed against his, and the hand caressing his face moved to cradle the back of his head.
Bai Shi’s mind went blank. He had no idea what he was supposed to do.
He finally understood his situation—he had been subjected to a night raid by lina!
However, both of them were terribly inexperienced. It was incredibly clumsy.
Teeth clinked together, lips were accidentally bitten, and neither of their tongues moved an inch. They both almost forgot to breathe...
But the soft, warm sensation on his lips was enough to completely rob Bai Shi of his ability to think.
Bai Shi’s heart was pounding at its limit. No battle had ever compared to this mont.
However, after only a mont, Bai Shi was forced to start thinking again.
Because as Bai Shi awoke, Ashmi, inside his body, also roused from her slumber and asked groggily:
‘Ngh... Host, what’s wrong?’
But Bai Shi had no ti to spare to reply to Ashmi right now.
This is bad. If I answer Ashmi now...
Seeing that Bai Shi was completely ignoring her, Ashmi sensed sothing was wrong. Her ‘gaze’ sharpened.
This wasn't like the Host. Could it be that he was in a situation where he couldn't afford a single distraction?
This wouldn’t do. Ashmi imdiately decided to extend her consciousness outside of Bai Shi’s body to sense the Host’s current environnt.
If the Host had encountered a powerful and evenly matched foe, then she could definitely, easily help him!
But when Ashmi projected her consciousness out of Bai Shi's body and understood the situation, she was imdiately confused.
What was happening? What were they doing?
Why were the Host and Miss lina pressed together, mouth to mouth?
After a brief system crash, Ashmi imdiately began to search her entire life's mories, trying to understand the current situation.
Right, yesterday the Host said that Miss lina was his lover.
She rembered soone ntioning that word to her back in the Eternal City...
Ashmi quickly found the conversation based on the keyword "lover."
It was a Nox witch who was responsible for taking care of her, teaching her all sorts of things about humans.
She seed to have said that humans would attract each other, form bonds, and eventually fall in love and beco lovers.
And there were so things that humans would only do with their lovers...
What followed was a health and physiology lesson, educating Ashmi on the process of this ritual of life.
Having found this small fragnt of mory, Ashmi now knew this was no life-or-death crisis, but a celebratory and important ritual between lovers to continue their species!
Thus, filled with a sense of accomplishnt, Ashmi shared her newly rediscovered knowledge with Bai Shi:
‘Ah! Host, I know this one!’
‘It’s mating, right? It’s mating!’
Hearing Ashmi shouting excitedly within his body, Bai Shi’s heart sank into despair.
No, who taught you this stuff?!
Besides, the fact that Ashmi was still in his body in this situation was bad enough, but with her making such a racket in there, Bai Shi was going to break.
lina suddenly sat up, and their lips briefly parted.
Bai Shi had just taken a breath to compose himself when he saw lina climbing onto the bed.
Bai Shi looked at lina. Today, she wore a well-fitting, pure white dress.
The style of the dress wasn't anything special, just normal daily wear.
But her exposed fragrant shoulders and collarbones, her fair neck and arms, were parts of her usually hidden under a heavy cloak, things Bai Shi had almost never seen.
lina knelt on the bed, the hem of her dress getting caught under her as she clumsily shifted her knees.
lina pinned one of Bai Shi’s thighs between her knees, pressing closer to him. The hem of her long dress dragged across his body, and a jolt like an electric shock shot through him.
Although the room was dimly lit by only a few candles, Bai Shi could see that lina's face was flushed crimson, her golden eyes filled with an indescribable emotion.
Seeing Bai Shi looking at her, lina shyly turned her head away and covered his face with her hand.
“Don’t look...”
She had only just managed to muster the courage. If Bai Shi kept looking at her, she probably wouldn't be able to continue.
Hearing lina’s soft, sweet voice, Bai Shi felt his sanity hanging by a thread.
But... Ashmi was still inside him!
Bai Shi hadn't told lina about Ashmi yet. He had originally planned to let her discover it on her own later and give her a little scare.
