In the Jianghai Palace, within the mighty hall, the atmosphere was so tense it felt as if one could squeeze water out of the air.

Chongwu Hou sat upright in the central position of the grand hall with a solemn expression. Below him, Qin Hai, Yin Shiyi, and the other Chongwu Guard mbers also sat, each with an expression as grave as stone.

Although Lord Chongwu had returned, he was in such a miserable state, bringing with him the shocking news that the border had been breached.

More importantly, just a few days ago, the sky over Yan Kingdom had been suddenly shrouded in ominous clouds, seemingly the result of an invasion by the masters of the Icefield Kingdom. From the terrifying formation, it was clear that the invaders were not one, but several.

Because of this, their Lord Fang had imdiately set out to investigate. Now, although the strange celestial phenona had dissipated, no word had co back about Fang Yuan's whereabouts.

This left everyone worried, wondering if Lord Fang had already perished at the hands of the enemy masters.

Lin Jing also sat among the Chongwu Guards, the little recently hatched dragon coiled obediently in her arms.

Usually, the little creature was lively and active, but at this mont, it seed to sense its master's poor mood and had lost its usual energy, looking downcast.

"I can't take it anymore. I must go and check things out." After sitting in this oppressive atmosphere for a long ti, Chongwu Hou finally couldn't suppress his emotions and slowly stood up.

"But, Lord Chongwu, didn't Lord Fang tell you to stay here quietly?" Qin Hai quickly advised, "Now that you have only a soul and no physical body, the more you move, the faster you will dissipate..."

Having returned from the border to the capital, then from the capital to Jianghai State, Chongwu Hou was really not in a condition to act anymore.

"But staying here is unbearable...," Chongwu Hou sighed deeply, feeling helpless. His disciple was out there risking his life, while he could only wait here helplessly.

The feeling of being unable to do anything was worse than death itself.

"No matter, I'm going to the capital now!" This ti, Chongwu Hou made up his mind, his tone resolute and unquestionable.

"Lord Chongwu...," At that mont, Lin Jing gently spoke.

"What is it? Do you want to persuade too?"

"No." Lin Jing shook her head gently, "I just wanted to ask if you could take along."

"I might not co back from this trip. Are you not afraid?" Chongwu Hou stared at her intently, asking.

"Afraid." Lin Jing nodded honestly, "But I still want to go."

Chongwu Hou couldn't help but look at her more closely. He rembered that she had co to Jianghai Palace with Fang Yuan.

Fang Yuan had even entrusted her with a dragon egg he had treasured. Unexpectedly, she had actually hatched the dragon, which surprised Chongwu Hou. Moreover, from her actions and deanor, it was clear to him that she had feelings for Fang Yuan.

"Alright," Chongwu Hou agreed to her request with a nod.

"Lord Chongwu, can you take too?" At that mont, Yin Shiyi raised his hand.

*Cough cough*, "My lord, I would like to go too." Qin Hai followed suit, raising his hand.

"So would I!" said the large and burly Liu Xiulian in agreent.

Seeing his entire Chongwu Guard raise their hands, Chongwu Hou's face turned green. Now that he was only a fleeting soul, his subordinates actually wanted him to carry them along like a cart pulling ox? Did they really think he was a beast of burden?

But to be fair, in just a couple of months, Fang Yuan had established such high authority in Jianghai Palace. This was truly impressive.

At that mont, a figure suddenly descended from the sky and appeared at the door of the mighty hall.

Everyone looked up and saw that the newcor was a middle-aged man wearing armor, signaling that he was the General of the Yan Kingdom.

"Subordinate pays respects to Lord Chongwu." Jiang Tao quickly walked into the hall and, before Chongwu Hou could speak, he bowed and saluted. "Please forgive for coming without notice. His Majesty has given an urgent task."

Originally, Jiang Tao had so grievances with Chongwu Hou, but now that the latter was rely a remnant soul for the sake of Yan Kingdom, and with the connection to Fang Yuan... all his previous dissatisfaction had vanished.

Chongwu Hou naturally recognized him as the General of Yongnan Province. When he heard Jiang Tao ntion 'His Majesty,' his gaze grew colder: "I don't want to hear about any tasks. Qin Hai, show him out!"

Qin Hai awkwardly scratched his head, about to speak, but Jiang Tao beat him to it: "It's like this. His Majesty asked to inform you that the matter has been resolved. You no longer need to worry about his safety."

"Worry about him?" Chongwu Hou scoffed, "I wish he were dead!"

At this point, Chongwu Hou had completely torn his ties with that dog emperor, and his words were filled with blatant disrespect.

"Oh..." Jiang Tao smacked his forehead as if he realized sothing, "Sorry, I wasn't clear. The current emperor is Emperor Fang Yuan."

"As for the previous emperor, as you wished, he has already been overthrown and killed by His Majesty."

At these words, the entire hall fell into dead silence, and the hearts of everyone there skipped a beat.

What? Was this person speaking the truth?

Jiang Tao continued, oblivious to the shock he had caused: "The terrifying celestial phenona earlier were caused by Emperor Yanwen. We don't know what he was plotting, but we are sure it was not a good thing."

"Then His Majesty stord into the Imperial City and ultimately succeeded in overthrowing Emperor Yanwen."

Jiang Tao's words echoed in the hall like a heavy hamr, making everyone's minds spin.

Indeed, they had joked that if Fang Yuan were given half a year, he might beco emperor, but that was just idle banter!

The key was, they never imagined Fang Yuan would actually dare to do it! And he didn't need half a year—he didn't even need half a month...

"Jiang Tao, you're not joking, are you?" Chongwu Hou's voice was hoarse, disbelief clear in his tone.

"I wouldn't dare," Jiang Tao lowered his head. "His Majesty is currently in seclusion in the Imperial City, and when he erges, you'll all et him."

"Oh my God..." Yin Shiyi muttered, "Does this an from now on, we'll have to call Fang Yuan 'Your Majesty'?"

From Brother Fang, to Lord Fang, to now Emperor... His rise in status has been too fast!

Just half a year ago, Fang Yuan was still a fugitive wanted for murder in a small county, but now he had transford into the Emperor of the Yan Kingdom!

In the Yan Kingdom, it was hard to find another life story as legendary as Fang Yuan's.
