He didn’t want sugar. That was the only explanation!

I was thinking about how I could put food in him, when he, if Nate’s chuckle was any indication, and I was not a drake, wanted another thing put in him.

One that he probably dreamt of was big. One that didn’t have any bones in it.

But I was a drake!

And so, I began to use Edda to look for cookbooks on the World System’s Blog of Resources!

There were many about at, but I could prepare at just fine without sugar. After all, most of the at didn’t need honey and garlic in it.

I gulped.

No more honey and garlic to make a cut of pork into sin. No more honey and garlic to make a roast crunchy. No more...

I shook my head. Desmond was hungry!

Quality does not an sugar! I told myself sternly.

Sugar is just a sweetener! I continued, even as I began to flip through the ingredients lists with the drive of soone who was searching for sothing pretty to cook for a friend.

Then I saw it:

For Those Of Us Who Have Promised A Fancy Feast But Are Broke!1

I smiled. A smile so strange, both of my n edged away from ... and Desmond ca closer.

"Ok," I told myself. I looked at Nate. "Is sugar expensive?"

It went without saying that I didn’t shop for food with money. No, the gnos wanted mana. Nate wanted... favors.

Before I invested my ti into this video library, I needed to know if I was going to find sothing inside!

"Well, no," he told , but he still reached out and bookmarked the library. "But that doesn’t an that you can’t learn sothing from this chef."

I nodded. Yes! Nate was just the best!

I kissed him; Desmond growled.

I blinked but still thought nothing of it. Desmond was a strong undead, a hungry one!

I smiled as he didn’t react to my thoughts.

Best 100 mana points spend in my life!

"Ok," if the other dungeons used sugar, then I had to begin to think things through.

There was only one way a cook could make leave of their senses and invent sothing new. A technique as old as ti. Sothing the first pioneers in this tasty field were forced to do!

Because they only had a mammoth and a couple of berries. One had to make do with what they had!

Wait...! Berries are sweet...

Hm...

What if I used fruit as a sweetener? Sure, it was winter, but Nate had supplied with enough apples to stock up on the jam jars of a small family shop!

What were two apples, when the payoff could be Desmond dropping his diet and beginning a walking regi, at least?

I nodded to myself.

The frying pan was in my hands a second later. Clean and cool.

But I knew that I needed it just for it: the quinoa!

"It is ti," I made a pause for dramatic effect. "To clean the pantries!"

Nate looked at the pantries in question. He snapped his fingers.

They beca overflowing!

Darn it! He activated Ultimate Mode!

"Darn it, Nate!" I placed the frying pan back down. There were things which were better solved with a good guilt-tripping session. "Now I don’t know what to cook anymore!"

"I’ll make it easy for you," Nate nodded at Desmond, whose blue eyes were shining. He was gripping the sides of his legs. I could tell that he was digging his nails inside of the fabric of his robes.

Oh, no, I thought to myself, he is going to go into a rage because he is hangry!

"Never mind, I’ll just make cake!"

"I can’t eat flour!" Desmond yelled finally, as he stood up. "If you just let speak, I’ll tell you what I want!"

I nodded.

"I want you...," he began, only to pause.

"To make you flourless cake?" I asked him, hope in my voice. I ran to him. My curls bouncing all over the place.

Soon, I was in his arms.

"I care for you, Desmond!" I had lived my life in isolation. No one could bla for what I said next: "And because I care, I want for you to be healthy! And because I want for you to be healthy, you have to tell what else you can’t eat!"

Desmond sighed.

"You are always like that," Desmond whispered, as he hugged back. His hands remained on my back, but they were at the small of it.

Right over my ass.

"Drake," I heard Aron and Nate whispering, but I ignored them.

"So, what else can’t you eat? Peanuts?" That was a serious allergy to have. Well, all allergies were serious, but I found that it was one of the most famous ones.

"Milk," he whispered, as he took in a deep breath.

I thought it was strange he was sniffing , but, of course, still thought nothing of it.

"Oh..." well, forget about Ultimate Mode. This was Dead is Dead mode! "I can still make you sothing!"

I hoped...

I had never made a sugarless, flourless, dairy-freecake before. It was sothing only soone who hated a baker would think of asking.

But as Desmond pressed his lips to my forehead, looking in the eyes, I could tell that he really couldn’t eat those three things.

I smiled at him, flicking his nose.

"Ok, I will make you a cake," it wasn’t going to be a cake-cake. Normal cake was done with flour. But then I blinked.

There was more than one variety of flour! No, he ant flour, but did he actually an... it?

"Desmond, by flour, do you an flour that has gluten in it?" He should know. He probably did a blood test.

Desmond was too serious of a man to just proclaim himself allergic to sothing he was not allergic to.

"Yes," he gave the hope I could make him happy!

And save him from his diet!

I kissed him on the forehead as well. I heard as Nate gave out an "aw" and Aron sighed.

"Ok! Get ready to eat cake, then!"

Because I was going to make him eat sothing filling as well, but for now, I thought that I just needed to tempt him to eat.

And I was going to... with quinoa cake!

But first, it was ti for research!

Because the only thing I knew about quinoa was that it didn’t have gluten in it...

I didn’t know if I had the right to use the real na of the channel and didn’t want to get in trouble!
