The fist thing Uriel did after landing in the jungle was to breathe in the fresh air that felt both nostalgic and utterly terrifying to him. The second thing obviously, was to apply a thick layer of the best bug repellent money could buy all over his skin which left everyone in confusion.

"I thought heavenly rank hunters didn't need to care about insects." Said Luna with curiosity as not even she was affected by bugs and Uriel replied with his usual 'mind your own business' glare.

"He's a BIG baby." Chuckled Nika exchanging a aningful gaze with her accomplices.

"I agree." dusa joined in, unwittingly sealing her fate.

Although Uriel had refrained from saying anything, he not only felt their energy signatures while they spied on him in the bathroom. He also heard them perfectly fine as the fish eye dusa placed breached the insulation barrier created by the alloy wall in the Pegasus. It was annoying, but he assud they wanted to see his flux orb out of curiosity, but now he knew the real reason he asked them to stay back while the rest of the company secured the periter.

"Really? Spying on people in the bathroom is not sothing I would have expected from you guys," Uriel oozed disappointnt with every word, then he took a look at the three won kneeling on the ground in 'repentance' while not actually regretting a thing. "Actually, I should have seen it coming." He sighed.

Nika had been trying to take a peek at him from the mont they t. Luna had openly begged him to let her study her reproductive apparatus out of scientific curiosity, which sounded like a weak excuse but coming from Luna he actually believed it. Noteven dusa was innocent, as eve though she was much more shy about it than Nika or Luna, while they were a couple dusa would sotis barge into the bathroom while Uriel took a shower claiming she didn't hear him, which was obviously a lie considering how she was already a powerful hunter at the ti.

"Periter clear," declared Miss Dragon fang as she walked towards Uriel, then shifted her tone into a more serious one. "Thank you for letting bring my dad along. He's still not recovered.

"Don't worry about it." Uriel replied and the walk began, though not after imparting the proper punishnts.

Nika was forbidden from entering Uriel's shadow to skip the walk, Luna was forced to carry dusa's bulky luggage and since dusa had to change half her cheeky chicken supplies for actual food, which should have been a given from the beginning but to her felt the most cruel punishnt Uriel could have thought.

"It'll have to say it, it feels nice not having to look behind my back at all tis since that pesky Ocelotl is now inside your trait." Nika said after a couple minutes and the jaguar spirit replied with a low growl. "holy shit!" Nika shouted as he jolted in fear.

"It's his first ti coming back ho, I wouldn't just let him sealed in his figurine. He's been such a good boy, unlike the lot of you." Uriel scratched behind the huge Feline's jaw receiving a pleasant purr in return.

"We are about to enter the barrier that protects the ruins, I can feel it." Uriel said with amusent.

"Alright everyone, look alive!" Nika shouted commands like she used to do back when she worked for the Mapple corporation and the dungeon Raiders reacted on the spot by covering every possible angle as they had been warned of the presence of powerful cryptids that already bested the most powerful corporation in the world.

They couldn't feel anything, they also could not hear anything, but it was precisely the lack of sounds what triggered their anxiety. It was the first ti for most of them being in the jungle, but they knew the wilderness and they knew the kind of silence that surrounded them was absolutely unnatural and didn't bode well for them.

Especially when after a few minutes a strange phenonon took place which caused everyone to feel a tingling in the back of their necks and their hairs stood erect as though announcing the coming of so natural disaster. And that proved to be exactly the case as the black clouds that followed Uriel wherever he went finally appeared in the horizon after struggling to keep up with the Pegasus for most of the trip.

"Do the thing." Uriel casually said to dusa.

"What thing?" She played dumb.

"Co on, they're almost here... It'll get roasted if you don't do it!" Uriel's voice rose in volu as the anxiety set in, but dusa kept pretending she didn't know what he was talking about. That was the case, until he made his way directly beside her. "If I get struck by lightning, You're falling with ." He said in all seriousness causing dusa to give in.

"Fine." She sighed, then tok out a sword from her backpack. It was obviously brand new, though the material it was made of was clearly not steel, alloy or even orichalcum, but sothing completely different.

A thunderous roar ca from the skies the mont the black clouds were positioned directly above Muriel's head and right when the lightning was about to strike Uriel, dusa lifted the sword and caught the powerful discharge from the sky with the sword. The sll of ozone took over the scene and the sizzling sound of an artifact being born resounded for a few seconds before fading.

"That was way cooler than I expected!" Uriel gaped at the sight of the now wondrous sword that quite surpassed the expectativas anyone had about the process.

"It's yours now, make sure to give it a cool na." dusa said as she casually threw the newborn sword to Uriel.

"A cool na, huh." Uriel pondered for a few seconds as he attempted to think of sothing that would satisfy dusa who created the sword just for him, yet the only na that ca to mind was 'Thunderbolt Iron', the na his late sword.

dusa tapped the soil with her foot wth impatience, then stomped it in frustration and then Uriel realized everyone waited just for him to na the sword. Then, an idea ca o mind.

With a grin, Uriel stored the sword in his museum and briefly closed his eyes to check the inscription beneath it.

Bastard Sword: An unnad sword that was hit by the divine power of Zeus, god of lightning. It was realized by the famous engineer dusa out of a teorite that did not exist.

[Passive] While stored in the museum it will repair itself.

[Passive] It can drain or recharge energy from any source. The rate will be determined by distance and material conductivity.

[Active] It can channel any form of energy.

"It'll na it Bastard." Uriel said.

"Uhm... That's an insult." Luna muttered confused about why would Uriel give such a disrespectful na to an artifact that pretty much just saved his life. Only to be even more confused when dusa and Nika nodded in satisfaction.

"Maybe, but it does sound cool." dusa smiled.

"Plus, everyone's calling Uriel a bastard all the ti. It's a fitting na." Nika bobbed her head up and down.

Content with the result, Uriel remained silent about the reason for him calling the sword 'Bastard' being just that the sword could be used with either both hands or one, and also because it did sound cool to him. Not that it made any difference as the sword perford its duty already and Uriel was sure it would prove to be even more useful in the exploration of the ancient dungeon no matter its na.

"Alright, we're heading in. Take care of my baby in our absence." dusa warned Miss Dragon fang before setting foot inside the protective barrier that encircled the ruins.

From the outside, it looked as though the path was clear, but the mont they crossed the line they realized the place was actually overflowing with so many energy signatures it was impossible to determine how many enemies were inside the barrier or how powerful they were.

According to Uriel's recount, there had to be at least two horror level cryptids that could not be identified in spites of Luna's best efforts. There should also be several hundreds of pigmies which should be of the monster level and more beast rank cryptids than could be counted. However, although they could feel the energy they could not see a thing.

"At least it's not foggy," Nika chuckled, then nudged Uriel on the ribs. "Try not to ss with Tejuinos this ti."

"It'll try." Uriel joked as he ventured further inside the consecrated round periter, while taking ntal note of the distance. According to his research, barriers or sacred ground, would always be a perfect circle. This fact alone did not help in any way, but considering how distant the different POIs were from each other in the archaeological site of Chichen Itza, it ant that the sacred barrier had to be enormous which, in turn, ant the energy it consud to remain active had to pre proportionate to it and Uriel wondered how long it would hold.
