When Uriel turned to look at her, he noticed the pedestals were either bigger than he initially thought or Nika looked small in comparison. In fact, it seed as if the whole place had been built to fit the size of soone like Water warlock and not a regular human being.
"Yeah, Care to explain how did you get here? This is my trait."
"I don't know... I was just hiding and then everything went black. I couldn't see or perceive anything in the outside world and then I just sort of appeared in here."
Uriel thought about it for a second, although Water warlock didn't explain what the mystical realm was, Uriel had enough information to formulate an hypothesis by himself. The most likely explanation was that both Nika's trait and his own were sohow related to the mystical realm.
Even if they seed to be completely different, the fact that she was able to enter his trait was evidence to the contrary.
'Does this an that my museum really does exist sowhere in the mystical realm?' He pondered.
He eventually arrived at the conclusion that when he sacrificed himself at the top of the pyramid he was sohow transported into the mystical realm and, since Nika was already in there, she couldn't exit his museum. While she could activate and deactivate her trait at will, that wasn't the case if the person she's attached doesn't have a presence in the real world.
"Anyway, it's ti for you to get out, I don't ever want to see you again." Uriel said coldly. "You abandoned when I needed you the most, you could have helped in the dungeon, you could have..."
"I was afraid! ok? I admit it, it was my fault, but do you think my presence would have made a difference?." She replied teary eyed, though Uriel wasn't moved by her tears as much as he was intrigued by the fact that she could cry inside of his trait.
"Hang on a second, can you see ?"
"Uh... no, I can only hear you."
"This is strange... I'm right in front of you."
"I can sowhat feel your presence, but there's nothing in front of ." Said Nika as she placed her hands in front of her, poking through Uriel's ethereal presence, giving off the exact sa feeling as when he was inside the mystical vision on 'El dorado'.
The possibilities about having soone inside his trait were so astounding he couldn't wait to figure it out, but even that wasn't enough to make him forget the reason why he went to his museum.
Uriel left Nika alone, paying no heed to her sobbing, and exited the pre apocaliptic exhibition in search for answers. He noticed a door that wasn't there before and right on top of it a sign that read 'ancient exhibition'. Without wasting even a second he pushed past it and what he saw left him dazzled.
[Clay figurine] This figurine belongs to the Maya civilization, it portraits an Ocelotl which was the jaguar guardian spirit of the forest. It was discovered by an unremarkable archaeologist.
[Active] Can store flux energy to summon the Ocelotl to fight for the owner of this piece until the energy runs out.
"What!? How can this be? I thought I'd have the dagger, not this figurine." Uriel said out loud giving up his position to Nika.
"I was here when this exhibition room appeared, but I couldn't get inside." She said, intrigued by the figurine on top of the pedestal. "When did you steal this thing?"
"Steal? I didn't steal anything. I don't even know how did it get here! Last ti I saw it was when I summoned the jaguar spirit, but I'm certain I dropped it on the floor. I'm not a thief!" Uriel defended himself. If there was one thing that bothered him more than being called a thief by the system, was being accused of being one by another person.
"Call it stealing, requisitioning, borrowing, whatever you want, I'm not one to judge." Nika shrugged. "So... about what we were talking about. I don't think it'll be a good idea for to co out now. What if Walter sees ?"
"Why did you hide in the first place?"
"I swear I'll explain everything, but first you need to get out of here."
Uriel realized that getting Nika out of the zeppelin's hospital was beneficial for him too and he agreed to get her sowhere safe before interrogating her.
After getting dressed with the clothes provided to him by the Mapple corp he was ready to head out. He thought he could sneak past the noisy nurses that, for so unknown reason, wanted to give him a spongebath before, but they were already waiting for him just outside his room.
Contrary to what he expected, they didn't insist on forcing him to stay, instead, each of them handed them a small piece of paper with both their phone numbers. Doing sothing like that was outdated to say the least, especially since all new phones needed to exchange numbers was to make contact between both devices.
The reason why they did sothing so unusual was because they've been tending to him and they knew there wasn't a cellphone on his personal belongings, they had no way of knowing that Uriel's cellphone was safely stored inside his trait.
Uriel scratched the back of his head awkwardly and received both of them. Even though both of them were attractive, he wasn't really interested in dating anyone at the ti being. Especially people working for the Mapple corp. as he was already sick and tired of them.
However, apparently his own cellphone had a different idea because as soon as Uriel received their numbers, they were imdiately added to his contact list.
He walked out the zeppelin with a bitter smile, trying to leave everything that happened in Chichén itzá behind but, at the sa ti, not wanting to forget even the slightest detail. Even if his body had been completely healed, his mind was in utter turmoil and he couldn't wait to go back to his old routine.
Thinking about this he ca to a sudden realization. There was nothing wrong with his old routine for his past self, but now his situation was entirely different. He'll receive money as paynt for his participation on the expedition and he ca back as an ascended, not just that, he also received an ancient era artifact and a powerful one at that.
Even if he couldn't yet fully understand Water warlock's blessing, the fact that it made him stronger was a given.
His bitter smile shifted into a confident one as he joined the crowd in the streets outside the Mapple corp. headquarters.
