The jaguar spirit's fur bristled like that of a cat and refused to move despite Uriel commanding him to do so several tis. He even went as far as to take out his lewd magazine from his trait and threaten with hitting him, but the poor creature just whimpered and covered its snout with its two paws.

"Sothing's not right." Uriel announced.

"Elara, do you think it's scared because of the lycanthrope sll around this town?" Elara asked, prompting Uriel to think back on all the tis he had summoned the jaguar.

From the very first ti he bonded with the cryptid, its enemies had ranged from horrible to atrocious. Horror level cryptids, holy rank hunters, creatures from the abyss Uriel couldn't even begin to describe which made the lycanthropes seem like harmless puppies in comparison.

"No, it must be sothing else." Uriel sighed and cancelled the summon causing Luna to fall on her butt.

"Ouchie," She rubbed her rear, more out of embarrassnt than pain since she was an ascended lycanthrope. "Maybe it's scared of the prion disease."

"Is it even possible to sll that disease?" Uriel asked.

"Of course not, if so I think most werewolves should be able to pick on the scent. It might have more to do with a different sense, probably flux detection."

"I think it was the sense of sight..." Elara said after noticing that the sa people that had previously been making a line outside the clinic now drew closer, but they didn't look the sa as before.

Despite being werewolves, the townsn looked like regular humans most of the ti except when they transford into their wolf form which gave them beastly features. Long protruding fangs, sharp claws, sotis fur and even a tail. It also multiplied their strength and mass, which resulted in them being able to deal more damage.

Now, however, they looked like an odd mix between their human and their animal form, with fur patches covering them in random spots, with claws in so fingers and nails in others. So limbs also possessed bulging muscles while others remained human like, which gave them an unsightly appearance.

"They are... sick." Luna inford as she stopped Elara who wanted to appease the crowd.

"I know, but I need to speak to them." Luna's mother replied as she easily shook off from Luna's grip.

"It's not advisable to ignore Luna's warnings." Uriel warned without moving from his spot.

"It will be fine, they'll hear out. It's not like they can ignore my orders anyway." Elara chuckled and intercepted the mob forming outside her house, but they not only ignored her commands, they also attempted to attack her on sight.

The first one to engage was Zac, though instead of the luster black fur Nika described his few patches of fur were discolored. If that wasn't proof enough that he was sick, then his rabid behavior did the trick.

"Watch out!" Uriel shouted as he drew his magnum and opened fire at the maddened Lycanthrope giving Elara enough ti to retreat. The gaping holes left by the revolver originally designed to hunt bears started closing as soon as the bullet went through leaving Uriel in disbelief.

Not because of the speed at which the regeneration took place, but by the fact that the at was seemingly put together by a worm-like substance.

"I will... uhm... take care of it." Luna said as she wore her orichalcum claws and lounged forward to strike at Zac who despite being fully healed had yet to compose himself. Luna shifted into her werewolf mid jump and beheaded the man with a swift motion.

Luna nodded after confirming that the lycanthrope wasn't regenerating anymore, prompting Uriel to put back his magnum and grab the Red thread of fate from his trait.

They were completely surrounded and despite being the strongest hunter present, Elara did not have the ans or the will to behead the townsn, which forced Uriel and Luna to take care of the situation by themselves.

"What about your oat? Shouldn't you be thinking of a way to save their lives?" Uriel asked in between strikes to which Luna replied with her werewolfish voice.

"No, this is self defense. Besides, they bullied when I was a child." Being in her full werewolf form gave Luna a boost in power not all of the townsn possessed, but that didn't an they didn't put up a fight.

They barely attempted to dodge their strikes when Uriel or Luna aid at their bodies, but when they attempted to go for the head the townsn either blocked or dodged.

"This is... unsustainable, call Cassandra." Luna said in a monotone, but Elara's face was distorted and could not react. To Luna, killing those people was exactly as she ntioned before, just self defense. But to Elara things were different, she had a first row seat to the extermination of more than half the people she knew and loved.

Not just that, she was also the alpha of the pack and every life taken had a aning to her. Every ti her bond with one of the townsn broke she flinched in pain. Not of a physical nature, but in a deep emotional shock that caused her to turn into a werewolf.

This unfortunately caused the townsn to also turn into a more complete wolf form since their bond with their alpha went both ways, but that only made things more difficult for Uriel and Luna.

It wasn't long until Uriel found himself surrounded on all sides by hulking masses of flesh, worms and fur clawing at him with disgustingly asymtrical claws.

Despite having Dash active Uriel received in just five seconds more injuries than he could count, but the cut on his shoulder was deep enough to sever his nerves disabling his arm entirely and that is when he realized sothing crucial to his fighting style was missing.

"I'm not getting any life essence from them!" Uriel shouted before being sward by the rabid townsn.
