Uriel's repentance skill turned out to be extrely effective against Sam and it left him in a similar state to a coma. His head hung loose and drool ca off his mouth completely defenseless which allowed Uriel to lower him to the ground and tie him up in a more secure manner.

Had Sam been just a regular holy rank hunter killing him would have been easy, but now the hunters faced an issue only Uriel anticipated.

"Can we stop now?" Asked Alice with a jagged breath after spending two hours kicking Sam's limp body."

"Not yet, if you stop he might wake up and kick our asses." Uriel grunted as he held onto the crimson dagger jabbed into Sam's. With each passing second Uriel could feel Sam's energy and life essence being transferred to him, but there didn't seem to be a limit to his power.

This caused Uriel a kind of pain similar to the one he felt when Water Warlock granted him his power in Xibalbá and just like back then, he felt like a water balloon filled with too much water.

To cope with this excess energy Uriel summoned his jaguar and all the artifacts that would consu his flux energy while keeping Dash active which caused him a different kind of pain. Spending so much flux while at the sa ti exerting his body with Dash for such a long period of ti would have made anyone faint, but Uriel also regained enough life essence to heal.

It was an extrely painful process, but despite Sam being unconscious Uriel didn't want to risk to stop draining his energy for a second.

"Wake up? There's a dagger inside his heart! He's dead already!" Hathaway fumbled. Contrary to Alice, he wasn't tired just bored.

"Not really, what the boss said is true. This fellow won't stay dead for long." Nika explained, showing no rcy while kicking Sam's head.

"Boss?" Alice tilted her head.

"Long story," Uriel shook his head slightly, though that small movent was enough to make his pain even more acute. "Nika, I think they're right. We can't keep this up for long." Uriel admitted.

"What do you say if we cut him to pieces?" Nika proposed.

"He has all of eternity to put himself back together. I'm not saying I'm against it, just that it won't work by itself." Uriel replied.

"What if we also burn him?" Alice butted in.

"That would probably make it even harder for him to recover, but I doubt we can make a fire big enough that could burn him faster than he regenerates." Uriel let out a sigh.

"Wait, didn't you say he wasn't healing because there wasn't any water nearby?" Nika asked.

"Yeah, there isn't any, but there's air humidity. It's low, but it will eventually heal himself."

"Then what can we do? Because you're not throwing in any ideas even though you're the most familiar with his condition. If anyone thought of a way to defeat Water warlock it must be you." Nika snarled in exasperation.

"I don't think there's a way to defeat him, but maybe...," Uriel reflected back on the ti where he carried Water Warlock's blessing. It granted him power well beyond his rank, but due to his weak body at the ti he couldn't make the most of it, but even then he knew he wouldn't be able to die which ended scaring him even more than death. "Salt!

Maybe we can tear him to pieces and bury him with salt!"

"Where are we going to get so much salt from?" Nika doubted Uriel would be willing to spend a literal fortune in buying it from his trait, even if it ant keeping Sam sealed.

"Miss Nika," Alice cleared his throat awkwardly. "We are in a salt pan. There's tons of salt above our heads."

"It makes sense. In mythology, salt is sotis used to purify evil spirits or to keep them at bay!" Hathaway said excitedly.

"It's not that 'purifying' effect what we're after. Salt has a property that allows it to absorb moisture, this will work the sa as if you dropped salt on a slug." Uriel chuckled.

"That's a pretty dumb idea." Nika scoffed.

"If it's dumb and it works, then it's not dumb." Uriel declared, then summoned shovels from his trait and shifted his expression into a cold murderous one. "climb up the sinkhole and start shoveling salt. You don't want to see what I'm about to do now. You too, Nika."

They did as Uriel asked them and he joined them only after making sure each part of Sam's body was covered in salt. His clothes were filthy with blood and carried an expression on his face that could have been mistaken by sadness, but Nika knew better than to think it was genuine.

"You don't have to put on a show for . I'm fine, really." She said as she put a hand on Uriel's shoulder.

"Thank goodness!" Uriel exclaid after letting out a relieved sigh, then continued shoveling salt on the sinkhole. "I was starting to feel like Luna." Nika chuckled at Uriel's comnt and then spoke.

"He was our friend, but he beca an asshole."

"You killed him, chopped him to pieces and now bury it in salt and he was your friend!? I don't want to even think about what you do to your enemies." Hathaway shivered.

"What was he anyway?" Alice asked trying not to think of her own friend's passing.

"He was a holy rank hunter possessed by a... a..." Uriel tried to explain but he had no clue as to what Water Warlock's identity was.

"A Warlock? Is that like a witch or sothing?"

"I have no clue, but it makes him immortal. If it helps, you can take a look at the folder Lister gave ." Uriel said as he handed Alice the sa folder the governor gave him when he found out Uriel wanted to investigate the desert.

It stated all of Sam's sightings and all the information hunters were able to gather from him and it also indicated that Sam had a particular interest on the Mojave desert.

Once they finished shoveling salt to fill in the sinkhole, the group turned to leave what would latter be known as the Lightbringer's tomb where Sam remained sealed into pieces, alive and conscious in atonent for his sins.
