Uriel followed the soldiers who took Tina with them to the best of his abilities. Although he was by no ans an expert tracker, the ti he spent training with the rangers did co in handy and so did the fact that he lived on the east district for a while.

He walked the sa streets he walked when he was together with dusa as a couple, reminiscing the good tis with a sense of nostalgia as he realized those tis would never co back. It wasn't just that the bakery he used to pick up pastries for dusa was burned to the ground or that the bench where they sat to wait for public transport was destroyed, along with the whole bus stop.

It was the awareness that even if Sam stopped his siege on the city, even if by so miracle he went back to them, things would never be the sa.

He didn't even know what was the point of staying behind, of trying to convince his friend to go back with them, but more than that, he had no clue as to why was he following Tina of all people.

The sa girl who was completely out of his league, the one that would leave him grasping for air whenever she smiled, the one he would have done anything to make happy but didn't an a thing to him now.

Everywhere he looked reminded him of dusa rather than Tina and more than once he almost turned back to his true friends, even if it ant leaving Tina to die by the hands of the Fallen corporation.

But dusa's words were clear, she wanted him to go and save her in spites of her jealousy. Uriel knew how much effort it costed her to send him and he also knew that if he turned his back on Tina, dusa would be disappointed in him.

After spending so much ti with Water warlock Uriel had lost all sense of morality and when he lost him, he struggled for months in order to go beco a human being once more, but in the end decided to take dusa as his moral compass.

She was the kindest, most caring person he ever t and whenever he was put in a tough spot, Uriel asked himself what would dusa do. She would save the city, save the girl and ask for nothing in return.

This last part was the one that troubled him the most, though, since Uriel wasn't one to give freebies away, but he figured he needed to save Tina before even thinking on what he could extort as paynt out of her.

Thankfully, the hybrids who took her weren't wendigos but doppelgangers and Uriel knew exactly how to deal with them. Added to that, they were just a couple and should be easy to take out, but things weren't so easy.

Uriel had to walk with care not to stumble into enemies from every direction, which ant he couldn't keep his focus only on the doppelgangers in front of him. He also was unable to activate his Dash skill since cryptids would most likely sense the disturbance in the flux energy around them and would be alerted of his presence.

'This is so troubleso, things would be so easy if Nika was here.' Uriel thought, not wanting to admit to himself that it wasn't Nika's trait what he missed but his easygoing, flirtatious and headstrong assistant.

After tailing them for a while, the fallen corp hybrids finally stopped in front of the hospital and pushed Tina inside. After being pushed around for half a district, she had little strength left in her to resist and she didn't even curse at the soldiers as she was taken inside.

Entering the hospital was a dangerous thing since there could be an ambush waiting for him, but Uriel decided it was his chance to make a move. As botherso as the concealing properties of the structure were to him, they still applied to the enemies which ant he should be able to fight with all his might inside without having to worry about the enemies scouring the city.

Besides, after giving Tina a chance to gather her breath, she would be free to join him in fighting and as a heavenly rank hunter she was bound to be powerful, or so he thought until he crossed the entrance.

"Peanuts!" Uriel cursed out loud when he realized he had been played. Tina, or better said, the woman he thought was Tina, was actually a skinwalker. He didn't need to wear his glasses or focus on his mystical sense to know it, because as soon as he stepped inside the building he was t with a barrage of bullets, so of which were fired by the supposed prisoner Tina.

'How did I not see it before?' Uriel questioned himself. All the signs where there, Luna telling him there was soone they needed to rescue, but also saying it was soone other than Tina. The hybrids taking 'Tina' prisoner, instead of giving her the sa treatnt as the rest of the citizens and even the place they took her was suspicious.

It was the perfect spot for an ambush and Uriel knew it full well before stepping inside. 'This isn't a hospital anymore, it's a prison!' he thought.

Each bullet hit the mark letting Uriel rember the kind of pain he had long forgotten. Every inch of his body ached, his blood splattered on the ground and he dropped helpless on the ground.

By the ti the enemies finished emptying their magazines, cartridges and batteries on Uriel there wasn't much of the entrance door left and the hybrids were forced to wait until the dust settled to confirm the kill.

Not even five seconds after, the head of the Tina impersonator fell on the ground as the 'Red thread of fate' sliced her throat with a crimson glimr like it was a hot knife on butter. Next, he stabbed the two doppelgangers standing by her side in rapid succession and finished by dropping a trite on top of each of the corpses.

Luckily for Uriel, his heavenly rank constitution allowed him to shrug off most of the shots and he was in terrible pain, but still body able and ready to retaliate before the soldiers reloaded.

However, he did notice that he didn't need to activate his Dash skill to defeat the hybrids, which left him puzzled, but it wasn't the ti for thinking and this ti he activated his Dash skill and took out every single enemy he found.

Thanks to his enhanced speed, Uriel had the ti to properly scan the place while he was getting shot at and he realized there were humans mixed in between the enemies and the only thing to tell them apart was that the prisoners were tethered to each other.

In spite of the pain he endured, Uriel was able to notice a few powerful hunters amidst the crowd and setting the prisoners free beca a priority for him. He cut off the chains along with the limbs of the hybrids that failed to block or dodge what seed like an unnatural blade dance.

"Uri! You ca for !" Said Tina as she basically forced him into hugging her in front of those present when the last of the hybrids was defeated.

"I guess..." Uriel said scratching the back of his head awkwardly. He couldn't deny he did ca to save her, though he followed the wrong person all the ti.

"They stole my identity to lure hunters here." She cried, but then shook her head and continued with a serious tone of voice. "You have no idea what's going on... Uriel, the whole city is in danger. "So of us have been prisoners for days."

"I know exactly what's going on, Tina." Uriel replied with a scoff.

"Then, by all ans, enlighten us." The head of the hunters stepped forward looking pale as a ghost and evidently dizzy.

"Was it before or after?" Uriel glared at the 'business woman' who presided over the hunter agency on their city.

"Excuse ?" She blinked a couple tis in confusion.

"Was it you the one present at the eting room when they wanted to sentence to death or was it a doppelganger?"

"It doesn't matter now, I'm still the head of the cryptid hunting agency and I need you to..." She tried to disregard Uriel's words and boss him around like she did a couple tis in the past, but Uriel stopped her.

"I won't hear it."

"All the hunters here have been injected with cryptid venom and their traits have been sealed, we need you to go outside and call back the Quill. He's the only one who can save us now." Samuel Song took a step forward and spoke with a stern voice.

As the highest authority on the city, Samuel was accustod to having his every command heard. He was imprisoned not long after the holy rank hunters were deployed and he was in a rush to take back the city, but Uriel didn't care to even listen to them in spite of knowing how many lives were at risk.
