"And?" Uriel glared at the woman and she was left speechless for a couple seconds.
"What do you an and? I just told you the whole city is about to be wiped out."
"That's old news, we're currently working on our exit plan." Uriel replied with a cold expression, but dusa's reaction was different.
"Why are you telling us about it? Aren't you friends with Mark?"
"Friends? We're not friends, he's my Sire... It's a bond I can't break, but it doesn't an I can't disobey him. The reason why I'm telling you this is because we can't let that disaster happen, thousands will die, maybe millions!"
Seeing the usually upbeat Charlie speak so seriously was enough for Uriel to believe she was actually worried, but that didn't an he was willing to trust her.
"Why should we believe a word you're saying? I know you were the one who ratted us out to the governnt."
"I told them you were harboring a cryptid, but... I didn't know your assets would be frozen. I just thought they would capture the girl and let you go with a slap on the hand like usual. You must believe ."
"As if that makes things better, you don't know how much trouble you caused us!" Uriel grunted.
"Actually, I do. I know I made mistakes, but that was before I was turned into this. If you must punish for my wrong doings I'm fine with that, as long as you help save the city."
"Even if we wanted to help, there's nothing we can do..." dusa let out, her usually bright crimson eyes were now pale and sad.
"We can still save the city, we just need to bring back the holy rank hunter and he'll set things right!"
"There's no way uncle Jon will co, not unless we get the Mapple corp. involved in this, but they won't care if a city is destroyed. In fact, if they learn how to create dungeons they might destroy a couple gacities themselves."
"So you know about Lord Lightbringer's plan too, huh... but I'm not speaking about Jon. I'm talking about the Quill."
"The Quill?" Uriel lifted an eyebrow, not knowing who was she referring to. The na didn't ring a bell, but for so reason it felt familiar.
"Yes, I'm talking about this city's holy rank hunter. Every gacity has at least one holy rank hunter, without them, building the walls would be impossible."
"Why didn't you start with that!? Let's find him and point him in the right direction!" Uriel let out sarcastically, but then he rembered why did that na seem familiar. "Wait a second, are you talking about Mister Scofield!?"
"Uh, yeah, do you know him?"
"Know him!? He's the closest thing I have to a father!" Uriel let out without thinking, but his own words made him realize how close his relationship to that man was.
"Who are you? It seems you're in the center of everything that happens in this city. You're friends with Mark, you're Tina's ex boyfriend, you're close to the Quill, you're even friends with Jon..."
"I'm anything but friends with him." Uriel directed yet another murderous glare to Charlie, but this ti she ignored it and continued.
"All what's left is for you to tell you know my dad..." She laughed awkwardly.
"Of course not, why would I know your father?"
"Because, he's the leader of the rangers."

Shortly after Uriel left the scene at the mansion, Truesight and the man next to him went to the ranger station along with Aster and Goblin. All of their fears had been confird, but they couldn't speak openly about it. In fact, they couldn't tell anyone and could only discuss the previous event among themselves.
"Tell again, where did you et this kid?"
"He's just an apprentice that wanted to join us. A friend recomnded him to , but I don't really know anything about him."
"Can you show again the ssage he sent you?"
"Sure, boss." Truesight replied and handed him his cellphone and the man proceeded to read the ssage out loud.
"Mister truesight, there's an incident involving a cryptid on a mansion on the east district. You'll know which one thanks to the gunshots, bring silver." The man who looked exactly like a cowboy of the old tis finished reading and then fell silent and then asked Truesight a question. "Do you know where to find him?"
"No, sir," Truesight shook his head, but then continued. "I could ask my friend, Marina. She's the one who introduced him to ."
"I just can't believe there really are cryptids inside the city. I've suspected it for a long ti, but it coud never be confird. I just wish we found earlier, when we could have done sothing. With so few people our hands are tied."
"Why don't you ask the army for help?" Aster naively asked.
"The army would nuke this city before admitting that cryptids can breach our walls. They're not like us, they don't want to protect the people, all they care about is killing those things and ending the war." Truesight replied, but then the cowboy added sothing that left everyone stunned in place.
"They know. Now I'm sure. This walls, they're as much a shelter as they are a prison, we're trapped in here and even when we go out, we never venture to other cities because our duty is to protect our people, but soldiers move from city to city, from country to country, all the ti. How could they not know there are cryptids inside the cities? Or are you as naive as to believe this is an exception?"
"Sir, what you're saying is treason!"
"Who cares," The cowboy spat on the ground and then continued. "those bastards have been lying to us for years, It's ti for things to change, but first we need to find that kid." With that, the rangers went to look for Marina in hopes of finding Uriel's whereabouts, not knowing that Uriel would soon be looking for them too.
