In the split second it took for the creature to shut it's maw, Uriel sohow managed to activate his Dash skill and crouched in an attempt to dodge. Thankfully for Uriel, even though he was caught by surprise the bite failed, but the creature did not give up and used its montum to follow with a headbutt that sent Uriel rolling back a few ters.

In a daze, he summoned his revolver and opened fire against the giant creature until the cylinder was empty, even though the first bullet was enough to kill it.

"What in the world is this?" Uriel gasped at the sight of the uncanny creature. It was a reptile, but due to his lack of knowledge in biology that was pretty much all he knew. However, he still took a few monts examine the body, just like Luna would have done in his place.

It had a wide maw, short arms that ended in claws and a long tail. Its eyes had vertical pupils and the fangs were pointed, but the most remarkable trait was that it possessed two bumps on top of its head that resembled horns.

"Could this thing be a dinosaur!?" Uriel beca shocked and excited at his find, but his shock gave way to disbelieg once the creature started vanishing like a cryptid. In a way, it made sense that dinosaurs would be considered cryptids, though only in the strict sense of the word. They were, after all, unidentified animals that beca exting way before humanity even existed.

"This could be a ground breaking discovery!"

After confirming there were no more enemies nearby, Uriel sat down to wait for the flux orb to appear, but after a few minutes he realized the creature only vanished partially and it left behind so entrails, blood and a flawed flux orb. Uriel then picked up the flux orb and attempted to store it in his museum, but nothing happened.

It was the first ti Uriel saw a flux orb like that, he could feel the flux energy stored inside it but the container seed to be defective.

"I need to get this to dusa, as an engineer I bet she'll be able to know what's wrong with it." Uriel muttered as he proceeded to continue his inspection of the place with the adrenaline still pumping through his veins. Then, the strangest thing took place as the flux orb began heating itself and bio matter began forming on it.

The fleshy substance covered the orb in a second and began growing. Then, out of instinct, Uriel crushed the orb which stopped the reaction entirely, but he was left wondering if the cryptid was sohow able to co back to life on its own.

All the questions in the world began forming inside his mind, but with nothing to go by he had no ans to reach any conclusions and he limited himself to use the smartphone stored inside his trait to docunt his findings. Then, he attempted to turn on the flashlight again, thinking that now that the cryptid was truly dead it would work, but he didn't have such luck.

Fearing there might be sothing else lurking inside the broken glass enclosures, Uriel proceeded to leave the place and walk the last corridor until he found a door that opened automatically for him and led him to what seed to be a maintenance passage that went all across the structure.

Being able to move freely all over the structure felt like cheating in a videoga and even though Uriel had absolutely no qualms in cheating, skipping all the chambers and rushing to the end would end up in missing all the important clues and also the possible treasures.

That was sothing he couldn't fathom, just the thought of leaving sothing valuable behind made him feel sick to the stomach and he decided to exit the 'maintenance' passage.

There were several hatches he could have used, but he had no clue as to where they could possibly lead and figured they were all the sa and went through a random one.

"That's more like it!" He exclaid after finding himself on a room that looked like the preconceived idea he had about a dungeon. Judging by how it looked, he figured out it must have served as inspiration for the Rapanui culture.

It was carved in the stone rather than built with bricks, but it was smooth and was clearly made by intelligent creatures, though the possibility of it being made by humans was less than likely.

Although the place was just as good as any to start his exploration, Uriel still attempted to open the hatch again and see if he could maybe save so ti by taking shortcuts. However, the sa hatch that was easily open from one side, would not budge an inch no matter how much force he tried to apply on it.

He even fired a couple rounds, but just as expected, they didn't so much as leave a mark on the stone. Find more to read at My Virtual Library Empire

With no sense of direction whatsoever, Uriel ventured inside the dungeon keeping his eyes peeled for threats or treasure, not knowing if he was heading to the end of the dungeon or the start.

The first few chambers he found were empty, just like the first, but after a short while he finally encountered so cryptids. They were small antropomorphic creatures that resembled the pigmies from Chichén Itzá, only their style and weapons were completely different.

They wore palm leaf skirts and brandished fishbone weapons, but overall they were just as strong as the pigmies and Uriel had no trouble fighting againt them even in groups.

It brought back many mories, especially when he realized that he was fighting bare handed against cryptids that could have killed him back then. To his past self, seeing him fight now would have made him feel the sa as when he saw Nika fight for the first ti. He was able to jump from enemy to enemy, kicking and punching his way through lines of enemies at the sa ti.

After a short while, though, his battle frenzy was cut short by an ominous aura ca from deep inside the dungeon. It was a powerful burst of flux energy so strong, most of the pigmies ran away but it allowed Uriel to finally know the way he needed to follow.
