"Wow! Your sister's new apartnt is really nice!"
"You really think so? You should see the one I got downtown, it's to die for!" Mary giggled.
"Geez! don't rub it in my face, I still can't believe you made friends with Miss Celes, it's like a dream co true."
"A dream? No, not really. Being her friend is like a full ti job."
Two girls chatted in the apartnt as they shared a cup of tea and biscuits. Ever since Mary moved to college she beca a celebrity among her friends, but her life kept getting better and better.
She got accepted into college in spite of her bad grades, beca friends with the most popular girl in the whole city who let her stay in a very luxurious apartnt, gave her expensive clothes and paid for her tuition, but that wasn't everything.
Sohow, her sister managed to sell a worthless building at a very high price and earned a commission so huge it allowed her to rent a new apartnt and have a better lifestyle.
Her life was the envy of all her friends and Evelynn was no exception. Growing up she and Mary were best friends, that's how she knew just how much of an airhead Mary was. She not only envied her, but also wondered how was it possible that such a dumb person was admitted in college and deed her undeserving of her life. It should have been her.
Out of spite, envy and other dark feelings, Evelynn ca with a plan.
"Why isn't your sister here?" Evelynn asked.
"Oh, Vivian is currently looking for a new job. Now that she's eating better her true beauty is finally showing and she has a better chance at being employed at a nice corporation. I don't know if she's coming back today at all, you know how it is in here, if the curfew catches you far from ho you got to stay wherever you can."
"Tsk," Evelynn clicked her tongue. Things wouldn't go as smoothly as she planned if Vivian didn't show up, but she was too anxious to test if what she found online was true.
"What is it?" Mary asked, placing her finger on top of her bottom lip making her look even more naive than usual.

"Ah! Nothing, I just thought that your sister must be out with her boyfriend."
"Boyfriend? As far as I know she's single, she never had a boyfriend."
"Co on, you know exactly what I an. There's no way she managed to sell that dumpster without doing you know what, I bet the guy felt bad for her and began dating her."
Mary blushed in embarrassnt. She knew exactly what she ant by that but couldn't deny the truth behind her words.
"Don't feel bad, things are the way the are and you can't change them. Your sister did what she needed to take good care of you. Just make sure you repay them once you graduate from college." Evelynn said trying to keep Mary in a good mood.
"Actually, Miss Tina sotis goes out to hunt and I've been using my share to help my sister out."
"Hey, I got an idea. Why don't we play a ga while your sister is out?" Evelynn asked excitedly.
"Sure! What kind of ga?"
"Oh! It's sothing I heard from a friend and I've been wanting to try it. They said that if you go to your bathroom holding a lit candle and say sothing three tis, sothing really cool happens."
"That's so silly! I didn't think you'd believe nonsense like that."
"What's the matter? Is Miss Huntress scared of a ga?" A mocking grin ford on the teenager girl and Mary felt pressured into doing it, but not yet to the point of agreeing."
"That's not true! I would do it but," Mary hesitated for a couple seconds until the perfect answer ca to her mind. "my sister doesn't have any candles!"
"Really? Here, in the slums, where light goes out all the ti? Why don't you look in her drawer? I bet she has so to spare."
Caught in her lie, Mary had no choice but to do as Evelynn said or else she would think less of her. After all, how could a female hunter that faced horrific cryptids all the ti while also dealing with disrespectful male hunters that would try to take advantage of her at any chance they got, be scared of a silly ga like that.
Mary opened the drawer and Evelynn quickly lit up the candle and turned off the lights.
"Do you want to go first?" Mary asked trying to hold on to the last glimr of hope.
"Nah, I'm just a regular human. and I'm too scared to do it first."
Mary entered the bathroom and Evelynn made sure the door was sealed before flicking the witch to turn off the bathroom light.
It was a small bathroom and the only source of light was the small candle Mary was holding due to the fact that there were no windows. She looked herself in the mirror and realized she was sweating.
"What am I supposed to say?" Mary asked wanting to get it over with as soon as possible.
"Bloody Mary."
"What!?"
"Bloody Mary!" Evelynn repeated from the other side of the door.
"Hey! Why are you insulting out of a sudden!?"
anwhile, Evelynn was getting annoyed at her friend. She knew Mary was dumb and wasn't pretending, but that only frustrated her even more. "I'm not insulting you, that's what you have to say!"
"Say what?"
"Bloody Mary!" Evelynn shouted without even thinking, but then realized what she just did and promptly covered her mouth as though that was the sa as taking back her words.
Inside the bathroom, the dim light of the candle flickered for a couple seconds and Mary thought she saw her distorted face on the mirror, but after hearing an annoying grunt coming from the other side of the door she quickly shook her head and composed herself.
"I got it now!" Mary said cheerfully.
"Bloody Mary," Her words echoed in the small room.
"Bloody Mary," A cold breeze sent shivers down her spine.
"Bloody Mary." The light went off.
