The next morning after their perilous visit to Uriel's 'uncle', a letter arrived at the door of the Dungeon Raiders headquarters. It ca directly from the governnt, which ant no other agency knew their location and it also ant that the letter ca most likely from Sam's father.

"What does it say?" Asked Sam with a worried look on his face as he tried to use his trait to peek over Nika's shoulder, but he lost to her incredible speed as she navigated the whole building reading the letter to herself.

"Is there really a need to be so noisy in the morning?" Uriel poked his head out of his room, looking dead tired. Contrary to Sam who was now a heavenly rank hunter, Uriel remained an ascended and it took him longer to recover flux energy. Nika constantly draining his reserve didn't help either.

"Boss! They're asking to et Raider." Nika said trying to hold off her laughter.

"Nope." Uriel loudly shut the door and went back to bed.

He was tired, that was true, but the reason why he was tired was because he didn't sleep the night before thinking of the events that transpired. He tried to figure out at what point his uncle was impersonated by a changeling, if he even had an uncle to begin with, but his mories were blurry.

But that wasn't all, he could feel it, the presence of Water warlock beca stronger within him and his emotions beca even colder than before.

He was already having trouble pretending to be the sa person he used to be, but unless he found a solution his whole personality might end up becoming that of the arrogant Water warlock.

"May I co in." A feminine voice was heard from the other side of the door.

"Sure."

"There's no choice, if we don't disclose who Raider is everyone in this city will turn against us. They didn't believe there were cryptids inside city walls. They also refused to inspect the place since it's in the outer rim of the slums, but after what happened to us I can't say I bla them." Nika shrugged her shoulders.

Uriel had made several contingency plans in case sothing like that ever ca to happen, but all of them included running away from the city and never looking back. It was a last resource he wanted to avoid at all costs, because that would an abandoning his share to the orichalcum vein.

"What if we could prove the presence of cryptids?"

"That would be fine too, but how are you planning on doing sothing like that?"

"I'll just take my photographic cara..." He replied with a crooked smile.

"Let go this instant! I said to let go!" Emma repeatedly hit Uriel on the back with all the might of an evolved, but it didn't even tickle him, such was the gap between hunter ranks.

"Not a chance, I'm going on an investigation and you're coming along."

"Why !? Why didn't you take Luna!? She's obsessed with cryptids!"

"She didn't want to co, but even if she ca, I would still need you."

Emma blushed partially at that, not knowing whether to feel flattered or threatened.

"Where are we going anyway?"

"To college, I think there might be a cryptid in there and it should be safer and easier to find it than breaking the curfew."

"That thing! No way, I'm not fighting a werewolf!" Emma cried.

"Who said anything about fighting? Also, who told you it was a werewolf?" Uriel too believed the cryptid killing students on campus was a werewolf, but the only other person that might be in the know was Amy since he never told anyone, not even his closest friends.

"I..."

"You're IntrepidGirl777?"

"H-how did you know?"

"Ok, first, that nickna feels like it was ant to catfish soone and second, it was only thanks to the forum that I learned it was a werewolf. You asked all the right questions but never posted any opinion or theory of your own."

"Of course I wouldn't, a journalist like wouldn't risk their career by spreading rumors!"

Uriel felt that the 'IntrepidGirl777' persona didn't fit Emma in the slightest, but he also felt so sort of pride of her. For just an instant he wished she was her little sister, though then he rembered their first interaction and her annoying personality.

"Whatever." He sighed and placed her on the ground as they were about to exit the slums and people might think he was taking her against her will which, in all fairness, was partially true. Experience more tales on My Virtual Library Empire

"So, what's the plan?"

"You'll take a picture of the werewolf. That's pretty much it."

"If it was so easy to find everyone would know about it." Emma scoffed.

"If it was difficult to find, people wouldn't be scared of going out at night on campus," Uriel shrugged. "Besides, I already have a suspect but I can't get close without alerting him."

"Aren't we looking for a cryptid?" Emma tilted her head.

"Yes and no. It's complicated to explain, but I think it might be a cryptid-human hybrid. When I saw the creature, I noticed its energy signature was odd but there was sothing else. I felt as though I knew that creature from before and It took a lot of ti to figure out it was because it had a physical resemblance to soone I knew."

"I think I know who you're talking about. The cryptid was described as a tall wolfish creature with a pronounced chest and silver hair, it's Captain Silvermane isn't it?" Emma let out with her usual know it all attitude and then continued. "wait, does that an...."

"Precisely, we'll kill two birds with one stone. You'll remain close to Captain Silvermane and you'll get so much needed exercise." Uriel said with a strange grin on his face. On one hand, he knew how difficult it was to keep up with the physical training class for soone with a weak trait, but he also couldn't deny the positive effects that ca with it.

In fact, although the system's reward was great to motivate him, he would still work out even without it which is why he resented not being able to join Silvermane's class himself.
