The next day, Uriel found himself standing in front of yet another closed door. This ti he felt more confident and rushed to knock on the door.

"Is that ti of the year already!?" A grumpy male voice was heard from the inside. "Go away, I won't take any students this year either."

"Professor Fermi, please just let have a word with you."

"Who even told you I was here?"

"It was a second year student. I followed her advice and brought sothing you might be interested in, it's a..." Uriel couldn't even finish his sentence because the door was suddenly opened and a hand swiftly pulled him inside. The lights were off and, even though it was early in the morning, the place was in complete darkness due to the blinders being shut.

"Is there a cryptid nearby or sothing?" Uriel tentatively asked.

"Nonsense! I'm just testing the similarities between EMP and FOD. I turned on an Electromagnetic field generator in order to calculate the ratio of energy spent versus the energy dissipated, by learning this I may find a way to disrupt cryptids' FOD." Fermi replied. "Now show the thing!"

"I could do that, but I don't think it'll be of much use unless you turn off the EMP generator." Uriel said as he produced a mint condition electronic device he acquired from the catalog in his souvenir shop.

"This is interesting, It's been a long ti since a student ca here showing such good manners. Hmmm, it's round and flat, what is it?"

"It's a broomba, but maybe you'll be able to see better with the lights on."

"Ah! yes! A broomba," A chunky old man with a white mustache and a balding head was revealed once he turned lights on, though what stood most about him was the strange brass headband with at least five different magnifying glasses attached he was wearing. "what a marvelous find! I hear there's not many of these... and it looks brand new!

ah so this is how it works..." The round electronic device began dancing around the floor cleaning it and the professor clapped his hands in joy.

Despite his old age, he behaved like a child opening a Christmas gift and Uriel swallowed down a giggle.

"Professor, I was wondering if I could beco your student."

"Why, of course!"

This ti too, Uriel was able to get an affirmative answer.

"There's a problem, though, I don't dictate any courses for freshn. If you want to learn anything about combat engineers you'll have to attend along with second year students."

"Absolutely!" Uriel was getting ready to leave, but the professor stopped him with a hand gesture.

"Lamar told about this weird student that offered him a strange energy drink with incredible properties. You don't happen to know anything about that, do you?" He leaned closer and a chanical arm that ca out from the brass headband adjusted the lenses making one of his eyes appear much bigger.

"I..."

"It doesn't matter, really. But if you happen to find a microwave... I could really use a magnetron and they're really hard to co by."

"A what?"

"Ah! yes, yes... it turns electricity into electromagnetic energy in the form of microwaves. It's the most important part in a microwave oven. Bring one, the bigger the better, and I'll let you take one of my weapons."

"Weapons... You have weapons in here?" Uriel asked, triggering Fermi's laughter.

"Look around you, this place is filled to the brim with all sorts of weapons. That's the second reason why I don't like to teach to first year students. Interdiate weapons are way too dangerous to handle for them."

Uriel scanned the workshop trying to spot any weapons he might be interested in, but all he could see was piles of scrap and trash. There was nothing of value but if there was a chance to get an interdiate weapon, he might as well bring the professor what he wanted.

"What's the first reason?"

"Because they don't even know what a magnetron is." Professor Fermi replied and then proceeded to usher Uriel towards the exit.

Confounded, Uriel didn't know how to make sense of his encounter. Although the professor accepted him as a student, he didn't tell him much what the course was about and he had no idea on where did his course was dictated.

The sound of dusa clearing her throat made him aware of her presence. She looked stunningly beautiful because she didn't abuse make up now that she didn't have to try hard to hide her identity.

"How did it go?"

"Great... I think."

"How is he? I've heard great things about Professor Fermi."

"He's... quirky. I don't think he'll take you as a student if you don't bring him sothing he likes." Uriel shrugged and left.

The only reason they were able to speak so casually was because there was no one else nearby, but that didn't an Uriel wanted to speak to her at all. Although he thought dearly of dusa and considered her one of her closest friends, whenever Uriel saw her he could only rember the visions he saw under the influence of the petrifying glare.

dusa eyed Uriel with a sad expression as he left. All she needed to do was to say she ca from the Works family and Fermi would have been more than pleased to have her as a student but she still turned on her heels and went to follow Uriel's advice.

All the freshn students were running across campus trying to sign up for courses with the professors from different specializations just like Uriel and dusa. The reason for this arrangent was because only students with traits could pursuit specializations and professors would pick them depending on their ranks and capabilities.

This ant that a student could choose a different professors and specializations than the ones recomnded to them but also, that a professor was more than capable of rejecting any students that didn't fit their criteria.
