Now that he was done with the papers Uriel could finally say the building belonged to him. Even if it seed like a small thing, that little signature at the foot of a single sheet of paper ant the world to him because now, for the first ti in his life, he had a place he could call ho.
He hopped on the bus to go back to his place in a great mood. He was still sowhat flustered by what happened with Vivian. He didn't expect her to co at him so strongly but, even if he rebuffed her, he couldn't deny he actually enjoyed the attention.
He also had spare money, the figure neared the 130k credits, which was more than he ever thought possible, but at the sa ti it wasn't enough to cover all the expenses Nika ntioned to him.
Buying a vehicle apt for incursions was more expensive than buying a cheap property in the slums, even if it was just for a small party like Uriel's that didn't an the vehicle could be small. Also, renovating the old factory and getting it up to modern standards was completely out of his possibilities. Nevertheless he was just starting his hunting career, and he could afford to take it slow.
The only thing he could afford right now was to furnish the place, buy so quality clothes and little more to improve his quality of life. It may have seed like a bad decision on his part, as a more experienced hunter would have probably invested in weapons or armor, but Uriel had no need for a weapon unless it matched his revolver and he wasn't accustod to wearing armor.
Browsing online turned out to be more fun than he expected, especially now that he had enough money to buy anything he wanted from the store.
"345 credits for a single bed? I'll take five. This looks nice, bought. I could use this for target practice... oh, we'll also need so of this." Uriel went on a shopping spree to furnish the place and make it more accommodating for when his friends ca.
He bought so couches, a sofa, a TV and all sorts of ho appliances. It wasn't until he finished his shopping spree that he realized he still needed credits for sothing he'd been wanting to test for a while. Fortunately for Uriel, he still had plenty of money to spare.
He wanted to visit his museum for a long ti as he wanted to try the [Convert] ability to get more trites and see if they could be useful in any way.
The balance after his shopping spree was about 85k and since the conversion rate was 1000 credits to 1 trite, he should have enough for what he wanted.
He pulled out his phone, opened the system app and exchanged 45k credits into trites, adding 45 electrum coins to his stash for a total of 50 trites. Then, he tapped into the pre apocalyptic era souvenir shop and entered his museum accompanied by a system ssage.
[System notice] Pre-apocalyptic era souvenir shop unlocked, you may now buy directly from the store or browse through the catalog on the system app.
He could never get bored of the grandiose sight of the imposing museum facade, but he rushed inside only to be disappointed when he noticed there wasn't any souvenir shop at the exit like he expected. But his disappointnt didn't last for long, as the souvenir shop he just bought was located at exit of the pre apocalyptic exhibition.
It was a small shop, there was a vending machine and on the wall there three rows of shelves decorated with different plush toys, but on a closer look Uriel noticed they were anatomically correct models of the cryptids he killed before.
There was a horned rabbit, a couple different insects, three different kinds of black dog, but the one that stood out the most was a perfect copy of dusa wearing light armor which he assud to be the first skinwalker he killed. Just looking at the plush toy made Uriel shiver, it was a visceral reaction he couldn't describe as anything but instinctive fear.
It reminded him of what dusa did to him, it was too cruel and seemingly out of the blue, but even still he couldn't get himself to hate her.
He knew how she felt towards him, so he figured she must have had a reason for doing what she did. For a few seconds, he considered buying the plush toy and gifting it to dusa to make peace with her and show that he wasn't angry, but then he looked at the price tag below and the price was exorbitant. It was so expensive he lost focus to the point where he almost exited his museum by mistake.
The price varied solely depending on the cryptid's rank. Beast rank plushies were 3 coins, monster rank 9 coins and entity level 81. Even if he had the money to buy the skinwalker, it would be too expensive to be worth it but he really wanted to buy a plush toy, even if it was just out of curiosity.
Uriel's distaste for bugs made his decision much easier and he placed three coins on the counter while looking at the horned rabbit. The three coins were absorbed and the plush toy appeared on the counter as if by magic.
He looked at the plush toy for a few minutes, but he soon lost interest as there weren't any glyphs on it and it didn't possess anything similar to an ability.
'This is just a plushie!' Uriel thought, regretting spending the equivalent to 3k credits on a toy.
Uriel then walked towards the vending machine which was filled with energy drinks and snacks, all of them were common and he could find them on any corner store, only their price was incredibly higher. Every single energy drink and snack costed one trite, but their market value varied between 1 to 3 credits.
Anyhow, he was set on testing the extent of his museum trait and decided to grab an energy drink from the vending machine.
He then exited his trait taking out the energy drink with him, only to realize he almost missed his stop. After walking the rest of the distance to his place, he was pleasantly surprised by the presence of Luna who was waiting for him outside.
