Chapter 51: First Raid: Sli Lake

"Fe...ya?" Archy’s hand was still frozen in the air, his fingers trembling.

"Ugh!" Mink was pushed by the recoil, his hand gripping half of his spear and fell to the ground with a thud.

The slis around imdiately spat saliva towards the hunters.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

"Ah!" Archy blocked his eyes and face with his arms, a burning feeling swept over his arms, stinging his nerves like needles.

Mink groaned, parts of his clothes lted and his skin peeled.

But the two people froze for a few seconds, their faces pale.

Did Feya...just...

Recalling the scene, Mink covered his mouth and gagged without a sound.

"Blergh!" Archy dry heaved, tears sliding down his face, mixed with a hint of red, his eyes bloodshot.

At the sa ti, Lucien’s fingers twitched, his inner soul jumped up three ters high.

An accident!

Soone...died.

Wongggg.

The purple crystal at the center of the throne room glowed brighter.

Lucien was sweating internally when a burst of energy suddenly poured into his body, so sudden that Lucien subconsciously groaned.

"Ughhh..."

A warm feeling entered his stomach and his empty belly suddenly felt full.

A sense of satisfaction rose and a deep voice in Lucien’s mind sighed.

—De..li...cious.

—More.

Lucien scratched his arms and his skin slowly excreted slimy liquid.

The place next to his third eye squird, throbbing, as if sothing was about to co out.

His inner soul rubbed his full belly, his eyes confused.

More...? But isn’t this plenty?

A sense of emptiness hollowed Lucien’s stomach, as if soone bore a hole in it.

The deep voice echoed faintly in his mind.

—Not...enough...

Lucien’s inner soul slowly tilted his head, eyes dazed, cheeks flushed.

It’s definitely enough.

But, it’s delicious...

Maybe...just a bit more?

Yes, just a bit more...

The empty space next to the third eye slowly ford a fourth eye.

DING! [Body synchronization: 20%]

Lucien’s eyes subconsciously ignored the new panel, his vision fixed on the four hunters separated in the maze— on their blazing, burning energy.

Mink and Archy bled, their whole bodies dyed in red, their breath quickened.

"A-archy. Let’s go."

Mink stood up staggering, the broken spear without a spearhead propped his bent body.

"U-ugh, ugh. Feya..." Archy scrambled to stand up, his chest went up and down but he still dragged his feet, his arms trembled as he aid his bow at the wall.

A fierce light flashed in Archy’s eyes, fire burning in his chest.

A mark doesn’t work? Fine.

He’ll just smash through it!

"Arrow Drill!"

A burst of energy ca out of Archy, forming one large arrow glowing in a bright light.

A strand of energy peeled off, drifting towards the void, but this ti, Lucien didn’t even blink an eye.

It’s...not enough.

"Attack!"

Archy shot the arrow and the arrow instantly cut through the air, blasting the nearby wall.

Boom!

The moving wall shook, rocks fell off, the surface was peeled and burnt black.

The wall was pushed aside and a small hole bored through.

[Durability -10]

"Damn it! The wall is too tough!"

Archy’s hands trembled harder but he continued to shoot several arrows in a row.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The small hole grew bigger and bigger, until one person could fit through.

At another place, the burly guy groped in the dark and made the sa decision as Archy.

"Sword Slice!"

A sharp energy poured out, enveloping the sword.

The burly guy sliced the wall and the wall lted like butter.

Slice!

Dust rose, rocks fell. A gap the size of a male human gaped in the wall.

Lucien purses his lips, his fingers slowly sliding through the empty air.

Since the guests want to leave, the landlord shall grant their wishes.

A red tongue stuck out, the fangs slowly grew longer.

As for whether the way out is better or not...

"Okay! It’s working!"

The burly guy gripped his sword and was about to cut the wall again when the wall moved with a grating noise.

Grrkkk.

"Ahhh! Help!" The young master clung to the burly guy and the burly guy dragged him away, his face dark.

Damn it. The maze moved again.

The burly guy was forced to run away with the slis hot on their heels.

The sa happened to Mink and Archy.

"Huff. Huff. Strange. The...wall...is moving...strangely."

Archy almost dropped his arrow, his legs trembled.

Mink couldn’t even speak, his back soaked in sweat.

"Huff...are the walls...directing us... sowhere?"

The two hunters’ hearts rose to their throats but they kept running and running, their legs were sore and weak...

Until the wall in front of them suddenly opened and a breeze ca through.

!

"T-the exit!"

The sa thing happened to the burly guy and the young master.

"Young master! It’s the exit! Let’s go!"

"B-but is that real??" The young master was skeptical, but they had no choice.

The walls next to them moved even faster, as if determined to squeeze them flat before they could leave!

"Just run!"

The burly guy pushed the young master towards the exit.

"G-go! Go!"

Mink and Archy kicked the ground with all of their might and rushed out like an arrow.

Swish!

Their legs throbbed so hard, their arms brushed past the walls.

Grrkkk.

Just a ter away!

The two hunters, the burly guy and the young master all ran out towards their own exits, the wall behind them closing like mad.

Less than half a ter away—

"Jump! Now!"

All four hunters in different places subconsciously jumped out with all of their might!

Bang!

The wall grazed their backs, just an inch away and instantly slamd shut.

"Gyahh!" The young master rolled on the ground and laid still, his eyes rolled back.

"Haaah! Haaah! A-are we out??"

Mink and Archy fell on their knees, their eyes scanning their surroundings anxiously.

Shaaa...

The wind blew from far ahead.

Ripple. Ripple.

The faint sound of water echoed in the dim blue light.

"This..."

The burly guy subconsciously took a step back, his eyes wide.

A vast lake with no edges appeared in front of them.

The black water rippled lightly, blown by the wind.

From this height, one couldn’t see the depth of the lake.

Why...is there a lake in a sli dungeon?

This...is not normal.

Shinggg.

Far across the lake, an arched pathway stood, shining in a bright blue light.

The light spilled onto the lake, dyeing it blue.

Like the colour of the slis.

The hunters’ eyes looking at the glowing arc widened.

Is that...the exit?

Everyone paused, their minds churning.

Is it...real, though?

The hunters doubted, but a faint hope rose in their heart.

But there’s no other exits here.

If they could really leave....

To hell with clearing the dungeon!

So, now...

The two groups ten ters away from each other swallowed, their faces pale.

How to cross...this lake?
