Chapter 22: Do You Accept An Equal Trade?

Lucien still felt greedy, assessing gases sowhere he couldn’t see.

He slowly glanced at the corner of his eyes and saw flashes of shadows entering the light dos sowhere and the people inside imdiately shrieked.

"Ah! My arms! Ahhh"

"Fck! Those vultures are here again!"

"Well, it ans my thing is the real deal, right? Buy now, only one left!"

"Tsk. It’s too risky."

Vultures? Another monster? Valuable items?

Lucien racked his brain and looked at the box in his arm.

...is Mumu the one considered valuable?

Otherwise, why would he suddenly be targeted?

Or is it the Land Affinity’s passive skill affecting the native monsters?

While Lucien was assessing Mumu’s actual worth—

Grrkkk.

The ground around the rchant attacked by the "vulture" moved, and the rchant’s stall, along with the light do, moved sowhere else, replaced by another stall.

"Ah! Damn it! They always do this to hide all the valuable things!"

The custor kicked out of the light do sneered and another one shook her head.

"That stall has been attacked several tis. Their worth is skyrocketing. It’s only ti before they move to the inner circle.."

Lucien couldn’t hear the rest of the voices because his eyes almost jumped out of its sockets.

...the market moves on its own??

Does this black market really want to make money or not?!

If the stall he eyed suddenly moved— no, he had to hurry!

If he returned empty-handed and had to survive six hours at the death zone tonight with such a broken house—

He would be dood!

Lucien looked around with a sharp gaze, his body always taut, ready to use the box in his hands to slam the "vultures" that might suddenly pounce at him.

It was at this ti that he noticed a particular stall right in the middle of the entire Material Street.

If other stalls were slly, dirty and definitely looked like stalls in a wet market, this one was incredibly clean.

The dark red wooden tables looked polished, like furniture used by rich people.

The goods were clearly separated in transparent plastic bags, a chilling white mist swirled around the bags.

Rows of raw materials were hung up neatly, without a single fly or odor.

Heck. There wasn’t even dust on any goods.

At the corner that one could barely glimpse, a table full of weapons and various items were neatly arranged according to their category.

The entire stall seed to be glowing, like an oasis in the dry desert.

The custors coming in and out were endless, each of them wore a satisfied smile, their bodies look relaxed.

...this one should be safe? It’s not an illusion or anything, right?

Lucien crept closer to the light do and when soone entered, he stealthily followed behind, his body completely blocked by the person in front of him.

"Oh, Bruno! Welco back! What kind of fortune did you get this ti, huh?"

A light, playful voice of an adult man sounded, the tone was like a casual banter between friends.

"Heh, Luren, flattering

won’t make

buy more from you!"

The big man laughed boisterously, saying one thing but his hands swept over several goods, buying more than he intended to.

"Heh~ I see your hands— Oh! Miss Marie! You look even more beautiful today— "

"Brother John! Ssshhh, co here. I got the item you wanted last ti, I kept it just for you! Yes, just between us— "

"Sister, how are you? Is your back okay? I know a good herb for that— "

"Yoooo! Boss Jack! Got a new woman?"

Lucien peeked out of Bruno’s big body and saw gloved fingers twirling a short cigar, the fire at the end still burning slightly.

The other fingers clad in the sa black leather gloves slowly pushed the leopard-print round eyeglasses without lenses.

Lucien caught a glimpse of unusual crimson eyes behind the empty glasses.

!

Lucien hurriedly retracted his gaze, his heart beating fast.

Leave. Leave now!

Lucien was about to walk out when the man’s voice suddenly sounded close, as if right next to his ears.

"Huh? A new face? Haven’t seen you around."

A face with a tan skin suddenly appeared right in front of Lucien without a sound, the short white hair swaying lightly.

! I didn’t notice his presence at all!

Lucien subconsciously tensed his body as he tried to look nonchalant, his eyes fixed on the rchant’s slight smile.

"Yeah, new. Do you have a sand turtle shell, snail glues, the ant nest’s jaded bricks..."

Lucien blurted out a few materials he saw on the New World website that could repair a dungeon, and the rchant imdiately bead, showing his neat white teeth.

"Oh! Those materials! You’re lucky, young master. I still got the last few things, about this much, should be enough, right?"

! This rchant actually had all the materials he needed??

Those were rare F to E-rank materials that only appeared in instant dungeons, ones which couldn’t be easily controlled as a farm dungeon!

Lucien suppressed the urge to widen his eyes and stared calmly,

"Na your price."

Maybe, sensing Lucien’s sharp, guarded stare at his crimson eyes, Luren chuckled, the row of strange iron tubes tied to his waist clinked.

"This young master— "

"Luen." Lucien threw a fake na casually and the rchant imdiately smiled,

"What a coincidence, our nas are similar!" Luren casually pointed at Lucien’s own eyes, his smile sincere.

"I’m not a mimic monster. These eyes are side effects of my awakening, just like— your purple eyes."

Luren winked playfully and imdiately waved his hands, signalling Lucien to follow him.

"Let’s go! The goods are at the back."

Luren’s steps were a bit faster than before, looking eager.

"Mmm." Lucien nodded without changing even an inch of his face muscle and slowly trailed behind, his mind spinning fast.

There might not be other rchants who have all the materials with the right quantity.

He...has to get them now!

But...

Lucien patted his clothes and twitched his lips.

He doesn’t have money.

It’s not like he forgot to bring money but really, this body is dirt poor.

He also didn’t have a chance to sell materials from the sli dungeon or the worm’s at.

So...how to buy those goods without spending a single penny?

Luren stopped in front of a wooden box and imdiately started to rummage through things, placing wrapped materials into a new silver box one after another.

"Okay, here are all the materials you want, young master. You can check the quality— "

"No need. I can see that they’re all real, "

Lucien only took a glance and acted as if he had a special skill that could see through things—

Then, he urged his free detector— ah, no, his lovely tenant.

[Mumu, there aren’t any bad slls, right?]

[Muuu! Safe!]

[The materials are real?]

[Sniff. Sniff. Slls real, muuu!]

"Maybe~ " was what Mumu didn’t say.

Seeing Lucien’s casual glance, Luren thought that he had an appraisal-type skill and his smile imdiately beca even brighter.

"Young master, you have such keen eyes! Since this is your first purchase, I’ll give you a big discount!"

"How much."

"Just *beep* *beep*!"

Lucien’s poor soul imdiately censored the extrely huge amount for the sake of his empty wallets.

Without changing his expression, Lucien stroked Mumu’s box with a slow gesture, his tone low, almost like a whisper.

"Do you accept...an equal trade?"

Yes.

Lucien just got...an extrely, bold idea.
