Chapter 13: Mumu Slled The Scent of Death

Lucien’s soul already cremated himself and threw the ashes to the sea.

Ahhhh!! Why is there another one??

Did this guy just call for help?

Are they in one group or sothing??

Thump.

Thump.

Seeing the new worm already so close that he could see its throbbing mouth, Lucien gritted his teeth and ordered in a cold voice.

"Kill this one! Now!"

The two giant slis imdiately excreted even more corrosive saliva, dissolving the hard armour-like shell and quickly penetrating into the soft flesh beneath.

"Hissss!!"

The subdued shelled worm trashed around in pain but this ti, the strength was clearly lacking.

It only wriggled feebly a few tis before it slowed down, its breathing almost non-existent.

Before Lucien could even check whether the worm was still alive or not, the second worm was already right in front of their house.

Its tail stiffened, its huge body swayed like a pendulum.

!

That familiar stance—

"Block it!!"

BANG!

The worm swung its body towards the house and slamd hard, but the two slis imdiately used their own bodies to receive the hit.

Slosh!

"Glurg!"

The two slis’ bodies imdiately excreted a flood of corrosive liquid, touching the worm’s hard shell and slowly lting it.

"Hissss!!"

The new worm imdiately retracted its body and wriggled around like a snake, its bloody eyes fixed on the two slis with a hint of wariness.

The two slis blocked the damage in ti, but they staggered for a split second.

Their huge bodies deford and so blue essence leaked out of their belly.

Tak. Tak. Tak.

The second shelled worm imdiately caught on this weakness.

It shot towards the sli queen’s bleeding belly, its suction mouth wide open.

"Hissss!!"

"Muuu!"

—Mom!!!

Mumu’s voice tore through the night sky and sohow also tore Lucien’s heart apart.

"Mumu! It’s okay!"

Lucien gritted his teeth as he watched the sli king wrap its body around the worm’s head, imdiately saving his wife.

"Glurg!"

How dare you imbecile attack my wife?!

The sli king’s body imdiately excreted corrosive liquid and doused it onto the worm’s head.

"Hisss!"

But the worm was faster.

Before the liquid touched its armoured head, it imdiately dodged, barely missing the corrosive liquid by a few inches.

This ti, the worm hissed threateningly as its eyes darted around, its gaze still fixed on the weakened sli queen, but it was waiting—

Waiting for an opening.

Lucien subconsciously gripped Mumu’s body tightly and coaxed the crying cub with a softer voice.

"It’s okay. They will be okay."

Lucien looked at the anchoring countdown and a glimpse of hope imdiately rose.

[02:59]

Only less than three minutes left until they could return.

The two slis could definitely hold on for that long!

After that, he would help them heal their wounds, feed them energy and food, take care of their dungeon—

Thump.

Thump.

Another thumping noise sounded...from another direction.

Lucien’s body stiffened as he looked at the distance with his 360° vision—

His soul that had been cremated imdiately ca back from death.

Why is there—

Another shelled worm?

Thump.

Thump.

The third shelled worm ca out of the red fog, its huge body already close to the house.

But there were no giant slis on that right side.

Lucien’s heart fell into despair but he imdiately whistled at the two giant slis, his legs trembling with fright.

"One of you! Co here! There’s another one!!"

Thump.

Thump.

The third worm’s tail stiffened, it raised its body high and swung its upper body like a hamr!

The sli queen, the weaker one, had already slid to block the new worm’s attack, yet her injury inevitably slowed her down.

Swish!

The worm’s body was enlarged in Lucien’s eyes, the sparse moonlight was completely blocked and the huge shadow completely overwheld his house.

It’s...too late!

"Glurgg!!"

—Not too late!!

The sli queen threw herself into the third worm, slamming it away and veering its direction with her last remaining strength.

BANG!

The worm’s body grazed against the house’s right side and the entire house instantly shook, fine cracks started to appear on the intact right side too.

Just a graze, yet the house was already on the brink of collapsing.

If that was a direct hit...

Lucien shuddered and he couldn’t help but want to amplify his landlord aura—

Wait, no! That thing only agitated the worm even more!

Lucien imdiately let out his true self— ah, no, acted like a weakling and suppressed his landlord aura to the minimum, making him look no different from a weak prey.

Too weak for the third worm to even notice.

[02:00]

"Hang on, guys! Two minutes!"

They just had to survive for two minutes!

But those two minutes felt like forever.

"Glurgggg!!"

The weakened sli queen blocked the third worm with her own body, more and more blue essence splashed onto the yard.

"Muuuu!!"

-Mom! Mom is losing so much blood!

Even the sli king wasn’t without injury.

They managed to burn the shelled worm’s armour, but the wound wasn’t deep enough to penetrate the soft flesh under the hard shell.

[01:30]

"Glurggg..."

The sli queen’s body swayed, her huge figure deford ti and ti again.

Tak. Tak. Tak.

As more and more blue essence leaked out, her body sohow shrank bit by bit.

Compared to the third worm, she really looked much...smaller.

The third worm keenly sensed its prey’s weak state and its huge mouth imdiately contracted, its body shot out towards the sli with an agility that didn’t match its huge build.

"Hisss!"

The sli queen’s movent slowed down and she didn’t dodge the bite in ti.

"Glurg!"

Blue essence spurt out of her skin.

Rows of sharp, long teeth pierced into her body, tearing her jelly skin apart.

"Glurg!"

—My queen!

"MUUUUU!!!"

Mumu scread and wriggled anxiously.

—Mommmmm!

Mumu...

Mumu slled the scent of death.
