She almost fell twice before she wisened up and slowed her steps.
The neighborhood where the Woods Family lived was a well-known high-end townhouse community in Peace City, and their house was right in the middle of the row.
By the ti Bella got ho, the servants had stopped moving things out.
“Sir, everything has been loaded into the car.”
The butler had just finished reporting to Ron Woods when he saw Bella coming back. He rely glanced at her and then indifferently called out, “Miss Woods.”
Although Bella had been back with the Woods Family for four years, she was originally from the countryside. Plus, the family either humiliated her verbally or physically.
As a result, the servants, having seen this so often, naturally considered Bella beneath even them.
“You know how to co back? Why not just die outside and let the Hughes Family collect your corpse?” Ron Woods’ face was full of irritability at the sight of Bella.
At the sa ti, cries from Rose Woods could be heard from inside the house.
“I don’t want to leave. I’ve said before, it was my sister who deceived into doing those things. Now I know I was wrong, and I want to stay ho and reflect and correct myself, Mom. Please don’t make leave, okay?”
“You’re just going abroad for training for a month or so.” Jade Patel, along with a servant, dragged Rose out.
“I don’t want to. I want to attend the engagent party. I still want to see Third Young Master Marshall,” Rose cried desperately. “Mom, you said that with my beauty, as soon as Third Young Master sees , he’ll rember . Mom, I’m begging you, let attend the engagent party before I leave, okay?”
“If your past actions are exposed, it’s over for you. You must go abroad to hide for a while,” Jade Patel said, then glanced back at Bella Woods. “If you want to bla soone, bla your sister who led you astray.”
“It’s you!”
Bella watched as Rose rushed toward her like a lunatic. Just as Rose’s sharp nails were about to scratch Bella’s face, she was stopped by Ron Woods.
But Rose, unwilling to give up, shouted angrily at Bella, “Bella Woods, don’t be so smug. Don’t think I don’t know that you’re just jealous of . You’ve been jealous of since we were kids.”
“You thought that getting engaged to Oliver Hughes would put you above , but once you found out I could be with Third Young Master, you did everything to destroy .”
“It was like this at the family dinner, and it’s the sa now. Do you think that by preventing from attending the engagent party you’ve won? Stop dreaming, Bella Woods, you can’t beat , you can’t beat !”
“I, Rose Woods, will always be the rightful, cherished eldest daughter of the Woods Family. You, Bella Woods, a lowly country girl, are nothing, nothing!”
As Rose spoke, she beca more and more hysterical, with her later words becoming even more unbearable.
Bella stood in place, eyes lowered, repeatedly reminding herself that she had grown accustod to these words, resistant to any inner turmoil.

A human heart is made of flesh.
All the mockery and belittlent ca from her closest kin, and even her own parents didn’t refute Rose’s words, accepting them as truth, making her heart ache terribly.
Bella silently clenched her fists, took a deep breath, and raised her head. “I’m sorry, as your sister, I didn’t set a good example.”
“Ha, you finally admit you led Rose astray,” Jade Patel stepped forward and poked Bella’s temple with her index finger. “I knew it. You were raised in the countryside and developed a bad character, especially this jealousy, which will doom you eventually.”
Bella remained silent.
She had learned.
It was no use arguing; why waste the effort?
“Enough.” Ron Woods sternly stopped them and instructed the servants to force the agitated Rose into the car. “If this goes on, the neighbors will co out to watch the spectacle.”
Both Ron Woods and Jade Patel cared about saving face. Arranging for Rose to leave at this ti was to avoid making a scene.
Bella stood quietly by, watching Ron instruct the butler to personally escort Rose to the airport.
Jade Patel watched the departing car, her eyes reddening. “I don’t know if she’ll have everything she needs. Our Rose has been pampered since childhood. I wonder if people abroad will take good care of her.”
“I gave her a credit card with no limit. If she needs anything, she can have soone buy it for her. It’s only for a month or so; don’t worry.”
Ron Woods spoke as if it was no big deal, but Bella saw the sa unease in his eyes as he watched the car disappear.
Bella didn’t dare to watch any longer. “Dad, Mom, I’m going upstairs now.”
Jade Patel and Ron Woods both gave her looks void of kindness, gazing at her as if she were trash, full of disdain.
Bella quickly clenched her fists and hurried back to her room.
Even though she had showered at the new house, Bella still rushed to the bathroom for a cold shower before lying in bed.
Yet she tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep.
Even with her eyes closed, there were still traces of tears on her pillow.
She picked up her phone and dialed the contact saved as ‘Uncle.’
Soon, a man’s low voice ca through the handset: “Hmm?”
Bella did not respond, just breathing softly into the phone, indicating that she was there but didn’t want to speak.
“Little Bella, I just heard a piece of gossip.” The man’s voice turned gentler, “Oliver Hughes’ mistress originally had a one-night stand with Allan Season, then she introduced a classmate to him in exchange for Allan taking her to attend Oliver Hughes’ gathering.”
“What kind of gossip is that? I don’t want to hear about their disgusting circle.”
“Hmm, listening to disgusting things soothes the soul.”
Bella paused, and then her withered spirit seed nourished and revived.
Her lips involuntarily curled up, but she deliberately muffled her voice, “I’m going to sleep now.”
“Hmm,” the man replied, “Don’t hang up.”
Bella stopped moving her phone away: “You want to tell more gossip?”
“No.”
“Then why?”
“To listen to you snore.”
“…”
“No way…” Bella protested, “I don’t snore!”
“Should I record it?”
“Uncle!” Bella was exasperated, clarifying, “I don’t snore, don’t wrong .”
“I’ll turn on the recorder.”
“…”
“I don’t snore, I…”
“Bella Woods, Oliver is here.”
The room door was suddenly opened by Jade Patel, and Bella imdiately hung up.
Jade walked over and lifted Bella’s quilt. “Hurry up and change. He spent the night at the hospital and ca specifically to see you.”
Bella clenched the quilt and responded, “I know, I’m coming out right away.”
“Be quick, don’t keep Oliver waiting. He ca to visit you after staying at the hospital all night.”
Jade spoke as she walked out.
Only when the door was closed did Bella breathe a little easier, checking to ensure the call had ended before tossing the phone aside.
Bella didn’t know why Oliver Hughes had rushed over from the hospital to see her, or what he wanted.
The only thing she could be sure of was that Old Master Hughes was likely fine.
But if there was nothing wrong, why was he looking for her?
