Chapter 102: Chapter 102: Watching His Noble Self Step Down from the Pedestal Chapter 102: Chapter 102: Watching His Noble Self Step Down from the Pedestal “Since you don’t want it, then let’s not do it.”
Ashton Marshall curved his lips into a smile and bent down to place a kiss on her lips. “I’m going to take a shower, then I’ll prepare dinner for you. Feel free to look around. The master bedroom’s closet and bathroom are stocked with your things.”
After he finished speaking, Ashton gently ruffled Bella Woods’ hair and then headed upstairs.
Bella leaned against the wall, taking quite a while to process the fact that Ashton hadn’t insisted on continuing.
In this empty living room, Bella was still struggling to regain her senses.
She always felt that Third Young Master Marshall had so peculiar ideas.
Willing to be kept as a male prostitute?
After his identity was exposed, he still wanted to maintain the relationship?
It all seed very unbelievable.
The most unbelievable thing was that when she said ‘no,’ Third Young Master Marshall actually accepted it?
Since childhood, no matter whether she was at ho or back in Peace City with the Woods Family, Bella had never dared to say no, because she would be rejected in turn and taught a lesson by her parents.
Sotis she would even get scolded.
The only ti she firmly said no was when she wanted to break up with Oliver Hughes, and even now, that matter hadn’t been fully resolved.
This was the first ti Bella voiced a rejection and got a peacefully agreeable result.
Especially with a man who had a status that couldn’t be refused.
This unbelievable feeling left Bella in a daze for a long ti.
Until she heard the sound of soone coming downstairs, she chanically turned her head and looked toward the stairs.
The man had just taken a shower and casually put on a pair of gray trousers. The hair that was usually combed back was now ssy from the shower, with bangs naturally hanging down and brushing against his eyelids.
With his eyes partially obscured by his hair, the harshness and sharpness in his gaze were softened, making him appear more relaxed and approachable than before.
Each step he took down the stairs gave Bella the illusion of soone descending from a pedestal.
Ashton approached Bella and, bending down to et her gaze, pinched her plump cheeks.
“Why are you standing here, huh?”
Bella, not fully recovered from her thoughts, replied instinctively, “Just thinking.”
“What are you thinking about?”
“Thinking that I can actually refus—”
Her words stopped abruptly as Bella snapped back to reality, realizing what she was about to reveal. “Nothing, I’m going upstairs to shower.”
She brushed past Ashton, hurrying upstairs.
“The first room on the right is the master bedroom, the second is the closet, and the third…”
She didn’t catch what he said next. Bella dashed upstairs and, following Ashton’s directions, entered the first room on the right, quickly closing the door behind her.
Leaning against the door, she took deep breaths.
After a mont, she slapped her own face lightly, saying to herself, “Calm down, Bella Woods.”
“Don’t overthink it. He is, after all, the esteed Third Young Master of Peace City, the man who single-handedly reshuffled the Marshall Clan Group. We are worlds apart.”
“He’s probably interested in playing so nurturing ga right now, so he’s tutoring , teaching these things. Once he loses interest, he naturally won’t keep around.”
“But that’s okay. As long as I successfully get the study abroad spot, everything will end.”
Bella kept telling herself this.
She rationally chose to maintain the status quo.
Just like being able to avoid getting engaged to Oliver was because she had gotten Cyan Marshall’s word that the engagent was off—ensuring that the Hughes Family would still collaborate with the Woods Family.
Ron Woods and Jade Patel wouldn’t resort to extre asures just because they were upset.
And now, the sa logic applied: If she resisted and angered Third Young Master Marshall, she could lose the opportunity to go abroad.
With her mind made up, Bella adjusted her emotions and headed towards the master bedroom’s bathroom.
When Ashton ntioned he had prepared her things, she didn’t take it seriously. But as she showered and needed them, she realized he’d prepared thoroughly.
The toiletries were the sa brand as those in her new ho, and even the skincare products matched.
There was a door from the master bathroom directly leading to the adjacent closet.
The closet was automated, with a master screen at the entrance that received voice commands and provided AI-assisted access based on her needs.
Bella was overwheld by the array of options on the screen and didn’t know what to press, but a button popped up: Little Bella’s Choice.
With a curious heart, she pressed it, prompting the closet’s AI to respond. Within two minutes, a small robot wheeled over to Bella.
The robot’s head was a storage compartnt, and it opened naturally in front of her, revealing a complete set of loungewear.
Seeing the undergarnts at the top, Bella’s face heated with embarrassnt.
She quickly took them, and the robot closed its compartnt and returned to its place in the closet.
Next to her, a small door automatically opened, signaling that it was a fitting room.
So advanced.
Bella touched her nose and entered the small room, changing into the clothes the robot had prepared.
After changing, she walked out of the closet, standing in the long corridor and looking at the priceless paintings on the walls, still in a daze.
It wasn’t until she heard arguing downstairs that she snapped back to reality.
She walked over, stood on the second-floor landing, and looked down at the scene in the living room.
Oliver was still wearing his engagent banquet attire, anxiously looking at Ashton, who was seated on the couch.
“Uncle, you have to help restore my engagent with Bella Woods. She’s just throwing a tantrum; she can’t live without ,” Oliver’s voice was urgent. “She’s just upset because I got a bit too friendly with Sienna; she’s jealous.”
Bella paused, her hand resting on the second-floor railing.
She was shocked by Oliver’s words.
With Cyan Marshall’s hint and Oliver’s blunder causing the engagent banquet to be canceled, the Hughes Family wouldn’t break ties with the Woods Family, so Bella felt free.
She had even told Oliver directly she had soone else.
She thought this would be the end between her and Oliver.
After all, Oliver couldn’t tolerate her seeing soone else, directly challenging Young Master Oliver’s pride.
Yet here he was, seeking Ashton to restore the engagent?
Ashton, leaning on the couch, lifted his gaze to the second floor where Bella stood.
“Did you forget what I said at the engagent banquet?”
Oliver was anxious. “I don’t know what Bella told you. But Uncle, everything she did was just to make regret, to express her displeasure about my ambiguous relationship with Sienna.
She just wants to apologize and make ands, she…”
Ashton raised a hand to stop Oliver’s words. “Repeat the announcent I made at the engagent banquet canceling your engagent with Bella.”
“Uncle, I…”
“Repeat it.”
Ashton interrupted all of Oliver’s words, his attitude firm, exuding authority.
