Alm and Bruno read the notification and were imdiately surprised. After the battle against the queen, Liumi, Vorion, and Fides had been extrely damaged. Because of this, they had been left in the inner universe, at the foot of the Tree of Chaos, to recover on their own by using their Daos.
Before that, Liumi had been the first to reach the Legendary Divine level. Vorion and Fides had just broken through to this level recently while still recovering. Both had faced the queen while still at the Emperor level, which made the battle a bit more difficult... though not that much.
"Reaching the Paragon level... If the system gave us this quest, it ans we have all the ans to accomplish it, but we still haven’t figured that out," Alm analyzed. "We don’t have any information about this level of weapon. Not even in the Dao of Immortal Weaponry are there enough details."
Bruno nodded. Everything pointed to the creator of the Dao being a Divine Legendary-level weapon of the Heritage grade, the highest possible, but they never managed to advance beyond that.
They decided to trust their three companions and entered the inner universe again, heading toward them. The three weapons were floating near the Tree of Chaos, automatically absorbing so of the will of the heavens from that place.
"Master," the purple cat approached, "We’re 95% recovered. In a few days, we’ll be fully functional again."
Alm and Bruno explained the side quest to Liumi and the others. Her yellowish eyes shone.
"I studied the Dao thoroughly, but that God only had a vague idea. He didn’t even know if reaching the Paragon level was actually possible. This level is like being reborn, becoming a perfect and sacred existence... But the heavenly laws don’t allow or create perfect things, so it seems impossible."
Alm and Bruno reflected deeply. What is an immortal weapon? Essentially, it’s just an ordinary soul that, through the power of Qi, laws, and magical materials, inhabits a body that becos a weapon.
The immortal core is a combination of laws with a magical tal, creating a pseudo-ntal sea similar to a body. While there’s no power of the mind or vitality, the spirit inside the weapon can subtly manipulate the laws of the environnt, feeding and regenerating energy. This way, it becos a pseudo-immortal.
If not destroyed by a cultivator, an immortal weapon can, technically, live forever. Of course, in the cultivation world, filled with wars and mortal battles, it was rare to see an immortal weapon that lived more than five generations.
Since they are weapons, they have little control over their lives. If their owner is an idiot, the most basic way to kill the cultivator is by destroying the weapon’s immortal core. This way, the cultivator loses a lot of power, and the weapon’s spirit always gets screwed, dying first.
The level of the laws and the tal of the core varies drastically. In the queen’s universe, where everything was much more supre, several high-level immortal weapons were created. In other universes, only the most basic ones existed.
Bruno pondered, "Technically, Liumi, Vorion, and Fides still have common souls... What if we try to bring them closer to divine souls, like the others?"
"Without a body and cultivation, even if our thod works, just having a powerful soul doesn’t seem enough to reach this easily," Alm replied thoughtfully.
What would be sothing perfect and sacred?
Suddenly, this question popped into both their minds. They looked to a corner near the Tree of Chaos and saw the five elentals being rigorously trained by the Nine Stars Tree.
"Calamity..." Alm thought. "That’s the exact opposite of sacred. Calamity is a title associated with the destruction of everything. But..."
"Yes, when we used the Elental Calamity multiple tis before, it beca clear that it wasn’t exactly superior to the immortal-level laws. It was more like an alternative state of the laws, focused on total destruction," Bruno added.
"The immortal laws aren’t inferior, but a different version. Maybe that’s what’s considered sacred," Alm reflected.
"Between the divine and immortal levels, there’s a significant power gap. The laws reach their peak in these levels. Maybe it could be done with Yin and Yang, different, not better than each other. The immortal level could be seen as the sacred version and directed toward one side, while calamity represents the opposite... maybe it’s a logical leap, but it’s a theory with so foundation."
Bruno sighed. There was no way to be sure, and no one would have that answer. After all, using the laws in the form of calamity seed exclusive to them. Not even the queen could do that, and it was this power that allowed them to face her head-on, forcing her to use her true power in the first exchange of attacks.
However, both had complete immortal knowledge of Yin and Yang, the five natural elents, and especially the laws of the earth. It was likely that no one else had as broad an immortal understanding as they did. If they felt it when using the Elental Calamity, it could only be very close to what they imagined.
"You three..." Bruno turned to the three spiritual cats who were watching him closely. He explained what they intended to do.
"...our mories from other lives," Liumi murmured, serious.
Alm brought the two immortal bodies closer. Although they were free from poison and devoid of Qi, besides their physical bodies, they still contained internal runes within their cores. Each one had seven internal runes: the five natural elents, and Yin and Yang.
The beast had the Yin rune at the immortal level, and Chromaraic, the Yang rune at the immortal level. Now, upon closer inspection, it beca clear that the beast was female, and they were likely a couple.
"We can use the new Miracle to elevate all the runes to the immortal level. Everything seems to fit," Alm murmured.
With almost divine souls, combined with the immortal runes, the will of the heavens, and their help, Alm and Bruno felt confident in their success.
The three spiritual cats pondered the plan. Vorion was the first to speak:
"I always wondered what it would be like to be born in a body and live like a person... Now, I might rember having already lived that. Please, masters, I want this."
Fides was the most innocent of the three and didn’t usually think much about life, but hearing Vorion say that, his eyes lit up with enthusiasm. He imdiately grew excited.
Liumi took a little longer to react, but her determination to grow stronger soon took over. "We all agree, masters. We don’t want to lose to that bitch again and end up almost destroyed."
Alm and Bruno nodded, deciding not to waste any ti. They imdiately began to move the Law of Origin inside the three of them. Then, they just had to wait while the three companions stabilized, after which they would work together to achieve the breakthrough.
***
The whale was on a planet in the underworld, where life existed, but no powerful races or cultivators. There was only strange, dark vegetation capable of surviving in the complete Yin of that place.
In an imperceptible corner, a spatial distortion concealed thousands of people. Despite the gloomy underworld scenery, inside the distortion, a lively party was taking place.
The dwarfs were drinking and singing, while everyone tried to relax after a long ti focused on training. The whale was at the center, waiting calmly, until, finally, Rehvka appeared running, waving and smiling at him.
Soon after, Ruri appeared. By her side was a young woman about 1.7 ters tall, displaying a slender and delicate silhouette. Her fine face was frad by black hair falling into an ornate hairstyle. Her large brown eyes shone with warmth and curiosity, accentuated by long lashes that intensified her expression.
Her rosy cheeks added a youthful touch to her face, while her smooth, pink lips often curved into a serene smile. She wore an oriental-style outfit in shades of pink. The delicacy of the fabric and the embroidered patterns reflected her personality.
ru imdiately ran to hug the whale. Today was her 15th birthday.
"The outfit looks great, dad."
Alm and Bruno sighed as their gazes fell on Sohum, who was standing in a corner, petrified and with a completely red face. He seed to have spotted a sacred and divine goddess. In fact, ru was already a young woman of unparalleled beauty, and with those clothes, her charm beca even more fatal to the young man who was already in love with her.
She had grown up very well, but she promised even more. She would definitely grow taller in the future.
"There’s plenty of elven fabric left. Your mother... she refused to wear any other clothes. So, I’ll think of sothing special for you when you turn 18 and beco a true adult."
ru smiled, and everyone enjoyed a small party... which obviously lasted an entire day and beca bigger than it should have.
Four years had passed quickly. During this ti, Alm and Bruno fully dedicated themselves to helping the three companions advance. They developed a thod using chaotic refinent and rged the immortal elental runes into the weapons’ bodies.
After several adjustnts, they searched for new tals in the underworld and even ventured into a universe they deed to be at a decent level to find Yang materials for Fides. Gradually, they obtained the necessary resources.
Alm and Bruno had already used the Miracle of Heavenly Baptism for the first ti to forge the immortal runes. It was exactly as they had imagined: they could invoke a dium-level tribulation and direct it wherever and whatever they wanted. In the future, this miracle would likely allow them to create celestial punishnts or annihilations. The possibilities were endless.
One month after ru’s birthday, Liumi, Vorion, and Fides, using soul cultivation, felt they were touching the barrier to the next level.
When Liumi called the two, they imdiately activated the Miracle of Spiritual Connection through the system.
It was a gamble, but one that imdiately proved to be the right choice. Using this ability, they perfectly connected the three to the weapon. And then...
**RUMBLE!**
An annihilation began to form around the three inside the inventory.
"Success!" Bruno exclaid, excited.
Alm and Bruno stepped back as the three had to fight incessantly. Liumi, Vorion, and Fides’ bodies had been altered and improved multiple tis over the years, and they had learned to manipulate their bodies with much more precision.
Now, their souls were one step away from becoming divine souls, just like all the others.
Half a day later...
